Why are there housing shortages all over the world? Posted: 13 Dec 2021 07:04 AM PST Housing issues aren't just an American thing or a Canadian thing. They're everywhere, and governments the world over are trying and failing to solve the problem. Sweden's government collapsed this past summer when they tried to regulate housing. The ruling party in South Korea took a huge hit in mayoral elections over this issue. In the US, the Federal Reserve is doing nothing about the soaring inflation in house prices while states are doing anything they can to move prices down. Why is this happening everywhere? Why is every developed country having the same problem at the same time? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Dec 2021 06:24 AM PST [MO] Ok I'm sure somebody will call me an idiot but I have USAA and I am waiting for my final closing disclosure so I can close on my home. There is no physical USAA and waiting 7-10 days for a check from then isn't possible. Closing based on what the lender said was between $6000-$9000 (huge range I know…) and how do I get my hands on a cashiers check without a physical bank? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Dec 2021 05:33 AM PST Hi, i live in europe. I recently was thinking to buy an apartment in a new building finishing within 2 months mostly as an investment opportunity. The apartment costs 65000€ and the rent goes around 250€ per month in that area. I have most of the money but i still need to take a loan from the bank in order to afford it. I have a stable job and will be able to pay back the loan within 2-3years. The appartment comkex is very close to the university hospital complex in the capital. Does this sound like a good investment? It will take 21 years for it to pay off. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Dec 2021 05:28 AM PST My home thats been on the market for a few days just got a offer last night. I'm suppose to get an inspection and appraisal within 5 days of acceptance. Any tips of getting a good appraisal? And does my added fence, backyard stonework, and nice hot tub contribute? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Lenders Please Chime in on this Minor Appraisal Fee Dispute Posted: 13 Dec 2021 07:28 AM PST Can someone take a look at the attachment here https://imgur.com/a/4fQMMj2 and let me know how you would interpret the Appraisal fee? I asked my Lender and he said, it's means that we the buyer only pay $545 and the lender covers all cost afterwards. I don't think that's what it means. [link] [comments] |
Why should I (or should I not) get pre-approved from multiple lenders? (US - TX) Posted: 13 Dec 2021 07:23 AM PST We just got pre-approved from a lender and some people are recommending that we "shop around" for multiple lenders for pre-approval. I thought that we could get pre-approved from one lender now, then, when we're under contract, shop around for multiple lenders for the best rate. Is either of these strategies better than the other? Would finishing a bathroom in a finished basement be worth the cost for resale value? Posted: 13 Dec 2021 05:57 AM PST I have a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home. I finished the basement a few years ago and have the bathroom framed and pre drilled plumbing with initial plans to finish it eventually. The main level's bathroom is immediately across the hall from the stairs, so we personally feel like we don't need the extra bathroom for how much we use the basement. However, we plan to sell within 1.5-2 years and I'm wondering if it would be worth it to finish the basement bathroom or just leave it unfinished and let the future owner decide? Would love to hear Reddit's opinion. [link] [comments] |
