Dumpster Divers won't stop! What do you do to keep them out? Posted: 02 Oct 2021 07:34 PM PDT We have a store in TN. It is illegal to dumpster dive if the dumpster is on private property. And it is. Any ideas here? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Oct 2021 05:38 AM PDT Hello my fellow business owners! I thought it'd be a hugely important reminder for all of you who are into wholesale and/or sourcing your products from vendors overseas. There is a crisis at the port! While inflation continues to arise, cargo ships full of supplies and food are stuck at the US port and this crisis will get worst in a few months. My purpose here is to remind you that we all have to be prepared for the worst. If you were planning to buy winter, spring, and summer stock early next year, my best advice to you is DO IT NOW!! Start sourcing now, supply your store with a full year's worth of inventory. Check for trusted wholesale sites like Faire or Abound and see what you can find for your store. This is not to alarm you! But I hope you do more research about this crisis and take action promptly. Blessings to you all! - ElaF [link] [comments] |
Just had a customer come in and show us a charge on his Apple Card that we never processed... Posted: 02 Oct 2021 09:58 AM PDT The charge seems real, he showed it to us on his phone. It shows us as the business, with our locations showing on the map, as well as the date and time it was cleared, and the card that was used. I had him email us screenshots of his phone while he was here as well for proof to our merchant processor. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Oct 2021 05:18 PM PDT My partner and I are splitting up and he is keeping the LLC. We have 50/50 ownership. There are some tools I bought with company money that I'd like to keep. How should I proceed with the matter? Altogether they are worth under $1k. [link] [comments] |
Whats the most lucrative thing I can do with these resources? Posted: 02 Oct 2021 03:41 PM PDT I have a room of 25 REALLY good cold callers. Right now I run a construction company but I am looking to get out of the business and just focus on what were good at and cut out everything else. What we're really good at is telemarketing, appointment setting, and selling over the phone and zoom. What is the most lucrative thing I can get into with a phone room of 25 cold callers? How to beat the big boxes without being used constantly? Posted: 02 Oct 2021 08:10 PM PDT Hi guys, My family owns a lumber yard. We seem to be in an endless cycle of dealing with flakey contractors who will only buy the things they need to get from us. We check prices of the big boxes near us and compare weekly/biweekly and we are always within 1%. The only sales I'm able to get out of a significant portion of my customers on the items that everyone else needs to special order. For example, we stock long length boards/engineered lumber/performing takeoffs for customers. I can't seem to get entire jobs from people, just parts of them. Its aggravating dealing with customers that are obviously just users. Everyone always complains that the big boxes lumber is garbage, while mine is a higher quality for either the same or a couple percent more. Its getting frustrating. Thanks for the time everyone. Can someone point me in the right direction? Posted: 03 Oct 2021 04:35 AM PDT I have been running a small online business since early last year (2020). When the time came around I received my tax forms and filed taxes for my small business. I want to make sure I'm doing everything legit but I don't even know where to start. I'm located in Virginia, USA and looking to find information like do I need state licences (if so which ones), how to file for a proper tax ID number, what all I need to do before I can bring an employee on, etc? Can someone point in the right direction of who I would talk to or where I would go to find this information? Thank you for any help. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Oct 2021 02:16 AM PDT Hi. I am looking business name suggestion. I am from developing world; planning to sell used imported items. Initially i had plans to import shoes (mainly running) and sell locally online only via making website. For this purpose, i came up with many names but shoedio was the one i liked most. But later i realized i might be selling other used items as well. Such as jackets, shirts, socks and other supporting items such as insoles. In that sense i came up with the name premium armour but that 1) looks like a bit long as domain name to me. 2) armour may be a bit tough word and 3)it overlaps with under armour So i would like to have a name that would not only feel good but also look professional as a domain name. Could you guys suggest me a name? It is also worth if it is easy name. Also, what are your views on premium armour - good or bad? [link] [comments] |
CRM / Order Track Management Question Posted: 02 Oct 2021 06:23 PM PDT My dad has owned an incredible welding business for 40 years. However, he still does everything the ol' fashion way. He's growing and needs a system that can track the welding jobs he receives and notifies the customer when it's done. His customers are very loyal. They will randomly pop in to ask if their job is done since most of the machine shops are local. He bought an Ipad for his business. What apps would help with this? He also hasn't transitioned to paperless billing. Uses quick books. Any suggestions to go paperless billing? Thanks so much. [link] [comments] |

Crafting Business Suggestions Anybody? Posted: 02 Oct 2021 04:32 PM PDT Hello Everyone! I am trying to get some advice on how to help my sister start her own crafting business. Does anyone have any experience setting prices or charging for services? How should we go about it? Like most creative beings, my sister loves to do art, design, and craft stuff. She has a Cricut and is always making center arrangements of all types. She is quick to jump on event planning, suiting people up, organizing, and most of all creating aesthetically pleasing decorations. She's so good at that stuff and gets excited over it. Obviously, we would need a good business plan, target audience, calculate ROI, initial investment, website marketing strategy, accounting, and business licenses. The admin stuff is the easy part I think. When I picture people contacting her for services, I envision someone asking to have arrangements custom made to set up for a themed party, or being contacted for centerpieces for an event. I don't know if this type of work involves shipping these items out, and if so how to go about ensuring safe travels (Items might not survive delivery lol) or if you have to deliver whatever you create personally in those instances when people only want a few items nearby. MEAT OF MY QUESTIONS: Do you all think that she should charge for a set number of pieces? How do we go about establishing hourly rates when she is invited to set up small decorations in small events. Has anyone started anything like this? How do you charge for travel time or for time spent creating centerpieces and other decorations? What do you think is the best way to begin to figure this stuff out? Do you set up a budget for clients for items spent creating stuff and charge a separate fee for the service of crafting said items or is it better to charge for a contracted amount and pocket whatever is leftover after the service has been rendered? Couple of business questions I’m hoping to get answered Posted: 02 Oct 2021 08:17 PM PDT Hello, I have recently started a new business, well in the process of it at least. We are a mobile boat detailing company, we travel to clean boats wherever customers keep them. We are located in Florida and I was hoping to get a couple questions answered. I've done research but I couldn't find a clear answer. So, as a mobile company obviously we need a business license to operate in our county and city. However, we want to travel the state for business, would we need a business license for every county and city we plan to do work in? If we do need a business license for each county does that effect the taxes our business pays? Also if we do is it worth being licensed in all counties right off the bat or should we stay local and slowly expand? Also do we need a certificate of good standing? Currently it is just my business partner and I (50/50 MMLLC) we don't plan to have employees for our first year. unless it's a 1099 worker here and there. We have plans to talk to a CPA but I was trying to go in with some knowledge. [link] [comments] |
How to remove or change Entity Address after LLC has been canceled? Posted: 02 Oct 2021 03:45 PM PDT Hello fellow business owners! I made a crucial mistake and wondering how I would be able to fix it. I registered an LLC with my home address, and closed it a few months ago. Now I noticed when I search my home address on Google, the canceled LLC keep popping up with my information under the Secretary of State website from third party database companies. Since the LLC is canceled, I can't file a Statement of Information to change the entity address on file. I was just curious does anybody have a solution to this? or went through something similar? Thanks to you all in advance! [link] [comments] |
Asian Style Boutique in America? Posted: 02 Oct 2021 03:33 PM PDT TLTR: Is owning an Asian street style boutique in America a bad idea? I have been into Asian, Kpop, urban street fashion ever since and I have been having dreams and ambitions of owning a boutique that sells that to my ideal target market: preteens and teenagers (mostly girls but maybe towards guys in the future as well). If I were to do it for real, I have some concerns based on my real-life situation:
I would like to know some advice on not only how to start a small boutique, but if it's a good idea to sell these types of products in America. [link] [comments] |
Get a lawyer to look over 12 mo commercial lease? Posted: 02 Oct 2021 09:49 AM PDT Hey all! I'm a psychotherapist who found a small office in a commercial building for reduced rent ($1 less per sq ft, full service) for 12 months. I'm just using it for remote sessions. This is the first time I've rented from a commercial real estate company, in the past I've rented from other therapists who were master tenants. I also just incorporated as an S-Corp and the landlord wants me to sign a personal guarantee as an addendum to the lease in case the corporation defaults. It's not a lot of money given the small rent and only being 12 months. I'm also in a rush to move in and not do sessions from home when I return from paternity leave. This is likely a question where the answer is a fat "YES" but, should I have an attorney look over the lease before I sign it? If so, what type of attorney should I seek? Thanks for your time! What To Do With An Unsatisfied Customer? Posted: 02 Oct 2021 01:02 PM PDT Some background to get started is that I work in the SEO industry helping businesses grow their online presences in order to generate leads. One of my clients is a roofer in the Colorado area and he's been doing well and even ranking number on the first page in a few different counties; however, where the problem comes in is that this roofer referred another business to me. Now that sounds great and all as I'm always looking for more work but this business owner has been a little difficult. After two months of SEO work he has already threatened to pull his business as he has not begun to see results. I tried to explain to him that SEO isn't an overnight service and how it could take 6 months up to even a year or more from some sights to see traction as it really depends on the industry. He then exclaimed how he was offered the same service for a quarter of the price from an overseas agency and that he might have to discuss with them about moving forward. Is there anything I can do here? I don't want to come off as aggressive, but at the same time I do warn all of my clients prior to signing that SEO is a long game with great results if you have the time and patience to stick through it. I mean even the guy who referred him took well over 6 months to get the results he seeing now but it brings him over 10 new jobs a month now all because he waited through it despite those same doubts. Posted: 02 Oct 2021 03:44 PM PDT "We help people that have tried to lose weight over and over, but haven't been able to make it last because of all the stress that losing weight creates. We discovered a way that removes the stress of weight loss and allows the body to naturally and permanently lose excess weight" The message above is my current pitch for my weight loss program. The most vital questions are: 1)does it create curiosity 2)is the message clear 3)will you visit the link to the website or ask for more information. Any feedback would be most appreciated. Building my first app - advice on pricing and usability needed (badly!). Posted: 02 Oct 2021 11:19 AM PDT Hey, folks! I'm building an AI brainstorming tool - CopyAim, and it has a lot of various social media writing features. You provide your niche/product/service/description, and my tool will use GPT-3 to brainstorm some ads, posts, or ideas. The app is totally free to use with free daily tokens (or you can subscribe to CopyAim+ for unlimited use)! I would really love any suggestions or ideas on what else you would want to use in such a tool. Additionally, I am looking for feedback in terms of what would this app need in order to help YOU become a subscriber. In other words - how is the pricing, what features do you like, or which ones are lacking? Check out CopyAim or/and me any questions about it! [link] [comments] |

Help with payment processing and invoicing. Posted: 02 Oct 2021 01:35 PM PDT I am completely new to the world of business owning and operating. I am having trouble finding apps/programs that won't charge me a butt ton of money for these services (Credit card payments from customers, and invoicing that looks and reads professionally). If you have any advice I welcome it with eager intent to learn. Thank you in advance for taking the time to help me out today. [link] [comments] |
