Posted: 04 Aug 2021 12:30 PM PDT I am 16 and have been researching investing for a little over a year. I started with a practice account of £50,000 and now I have £86,942, I realise that a lot of this profit would have been due to the pandemic recovery but I would like to start investing with real money. As I understand, it is legal to invest under 18 if you have your parents consent and it is under their national insurance number (I live in the UK but I would imagine it is the same in the US). I was wondering how you pay capital gains tax because it would be too inconvenient for them to try to declare all of the trades that I have done (if you pay it as part of your yearly tax). I thought redit might be a good place to find the answer to this question, Sorry this was a bit long winded. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Aug 2021 02:08 PM PDT I've been investing for a few years but just recently started to take the market seriously and learn how it works. I know of options but not enough to feel comfortable about trading them. I research companies and ETFs and usually buy and sell based on my own goals. However, I frequently miss out on spikes in value, like the current increases AMD and BTBT have seen. Or when I try to jump in, my timing sucks and I get stuck holding overvalued shares (this happened to me a few months ago when Nokia went up). How do you take advantage of these events without being left with a loss? I'm sure I'm missing some knowledge and strategy. [link] [comments]

What goes into choosing if a stock gets Weekly option contracts vs Monthly? Posted: 04 Aug 2021 06:57 PM PDT With $HOOD getting options today, I wondered if it would stay with only monthly contracts and how does the process work or how to know what kind of options will be available for a certain equity. Is there a liquidity requirement or does a stock have to maintain a certain amount of avg volume or anything of that nature or will they eventually add weeklies as time passes? I know other stocks like $SPG have always only had monthly contracts, so I was just curators as to how that process works. Thank you for any answers or help, and happy investing/trading! 💸 [link] [comments]
Will the tesla stock crash back to below 700? Posted: 04 Aug 2021 10:45 AM PDT I still believe Tesla stock is overvalued. Few months back Tesla stock rose to 800-ish then it crash to 550. Alot of people lost money. Seeing this extreme volatility of this stock. I believe this stock will again crash to back to its value. I have been reading post and people conversation; alot of them think it might go up to 1000. And many people are buying Call of this high value. Even thou tesla is not a meme stock and a strong company. This increase in its value all seems to be due to news of infrastructure bill. But what if it does not pass this week and delayed. Will it go back to 600 or increase. I am not that experienced but think this pump is temporary and its overvalued. What are everyone thoughts about this stock. [link] [comments]
Private companies added 330,000 jobs in July, according to ADP, far short of the 653,000 estimate Posted: 04 Aug 2021 07:14 AM PDT
My Take: If the employment number, which comes in before the market opens on Friday, is inline with this survey, then this should lower the risk of the Fed beginning its tapering of bond purchases. [link] [comments]
AMD: Too Late To Jump On The Ride? Posted: 04 Aug 2021 01:30 AM PDT Short term volatility is coming!! One of the main arguments for investing - enter & exit timing AMD FOMO??? Find out now ↓ --- Promise or non-sense? --- About the company 60% of the revenue comes from making processors and GPU for PC, laptop and server (and from me). Other 40% are more chips and technology for game consoles. AMD's data center business is growing like crazy, and now they're on their way to acquire Xilinx (Leading provider of adaptive computing solutions). Cause why not? Is AMD making money ACTUALLY? YES, revenue is TWICE as much (99%) as it was last year. Along with HUGE growth on net income and earnings per share, everything's growing. Price is also at an all time high. Will it do even better? I'd say very likely. Based on chip demand and their business plans, as I mentioned above. Is AMD worth trading/Investing? For swing traders: From a technical viewpoint, the trend is still looking strong. I'd say there's more room to grow. Even my cat could tell, just please don't go all in tho, ok? This is another great topic I would love to discuss, how do you deal with stocks that're at all time high? All things considered, AMD is a great investment. I would suggest averaging down. Look out for a correction because when everyone's optimistic about a stock, correction tends to mess with you. Date Written: 2021/8/4, before market open. [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Aug 2021 06:50 AM PDT This is an unpopular opinion, but I'm telling ya all, being a dream catcher is never easy. People will keep putting you down while you're on the way to success. Do you all think UBER is a dream catcher? Should you give it a chance? See my thoughts below. ---Promise or Non-sense--- About the companyThey're mostly known for getting stoners like you and I to get home safely. Uber is available in over 900 cities globally. They offer Uber Ride/Eats/bikes/freight. Most of the revenue comes from Uber Rides and Eats. The first stage of UBER, requires lots of money as they give out discount codes and even free rides in order to gain new members. Is UBER making money ACTUALLY? It's a simple no. They were clearly impacted by the pandemic. However, here's a part where many people overlook. Uber has a lot of cash to work on and operate. They already survived the worst year. Now it's just the beginning. Is UBER worth Trading/Investing? I know the numbers look pretty bad, but I personally still feel optimistic about their future as they're closer to their second stage of their plan. UBER is one of the biggest victims of the pandemic. As the pandemic eases, I expect more people taking UBER to places. It all depends on if you're willing to take a risk. Uber is still expanding after they formed a strong base of active users. [link] [comments]
