Just quit my part time serving job to pursue my Bartending business full time!

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 05:29 PM PDT

I've been running a private Bartending business since early 2018. In Early 2020, things were starting to take off and I had just begun running it with no other sources of income.

The pandemic of course halted business and I had to get a part time serving job. It was soul crushing at the time because I was confident that I was finally done working in restaurants.

Fast forward to May 2021, business had picked up so much that I started to realize I was wasting my time making $120 a shift. I would run to the bathroom to send quotes multiple times a shift and it was starting to impede business.

I quit one week later and I haven't looked back. I hit my income goal of $10k/mo in May and the goal for June is $12k.

If anyone is in a similar position or thinking of quitting your job to pursue your business, a good sign you're ready is when your job starts to really interfere with business and you can physically feel it holding you back.

I'd love to to hear any of your stories or answer any questions!

    Cheers

Who best to consult on small business organization and taxes?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 09:25 AM PDT

A bit of background: I created a single person LLC in a state with no income tax, in which I lived at the time. I recently moved to a state with an income tax. My revenue hit $100k/yearly in April based on monthly recurring, and the business has only ~$2000 in expenses.

I'm looking for advice on how and where to reorganize my business, how and where to direct the revenue, how to pay myself, etc.

I'll continue to be the only employee, so things like IRA and college funds should factor into my plan.

I met with a CPA, who prepared my taxes, but beyond that was not able to advise on my biz matters and directed me to a CFP.

I met with a CFP. They were very knowledgeable and eager to manage my current assets but hesitant to advise on biz matters, and directed me to a CPA.

Any suggestions as to how I have find a turn key plan that encompasses my personal and business needs, incorporating each into a solid plan?

EDIT: Specifying that the $100k is yearly revenue estimated based on current subscriptions.

    Original Shipping Cost Refundable

    Posted: 09 Jun 2021 06:20 AM PDT

Is it mandatory for a company or business to list that the original shipping cost is not refundable on their website's return policy? Or can they go ahead and not refund the original shipping cost.

I am from America and I returned something that I bought online from a store located in London and they refunded everything but the original shipping cost.

Partnering your product with another business

    Posted: 09 Jun 2021 05:09 AM PDT

Has anyone partnered their product with someone else? What are some things I need to know before considering this?

The other business wants to use my product under their name I've told them I want both names on the product. This is the sticky part they some want to, if I refuse they may do to a competitor and then I lose out of the sales to the. If we don't have both names on the product how will this benefit me growing my marketing and business recognition. I manufacture equipment for a very small specific market.

They just want me to make my product send it to them and they put their product in mine and sell it under their name. I think it will be a good deal for us to partner together but I'm for sure not wanting to give them rights to market it without our name.

What other things should I be considering?

You'll never procrastinate after reading this post

    Posted: 09 Jun 2021 05:09 AM PDT

Hi you may remember me from the post that i made few years ago, here i'm again!

I know i know, not the best subreddit to post this but i love this community so here you go.

Does it happen often that you create a list of things that needs to be done but not able to do them either because you don't bother to look at the list again or just simply skip?

That's where I come in, send me your to-do-list and I'll hound your ass all day long and make sure that you're getting things done. I'll become one of your annoying clingy partner that r/datingadvice has been telling you to stay away from and you would wish that you had never got yourself in this and maybe you'd end up getting things done just to make me shut-up. $1.99 will last you a day of harrassment, and you can decide to choose between weekly, monthly or annual packages.

Qualification: Been told I'm annoying by almost everyone and most of the WhatsApp groups I'm in is just me spamming incessantly. I'm Asian and I'm very persistent-- ask all the girls on instagram. I'm shameless and people often end up raising their fist at the sky shouting at me "go away!" and I don't budge.

If you want this fabulous service, please send me a dm with the type of package you want and we'll get to work asap.

If you do not want this service, I hope i was able to make you laugh from this post and change your mood to work better.

Having our first modules built, I am looking for people who are willing to start a business or who have already started their own business. We want to show our modules and gather feedback about them. Do you know where I can find interested people who would like help? I am thankful for any advice. Enquiry on Accounting Firms

    Posted: 09 Jun 2021 04:50 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

My name is Irwin and I'm really excited to be a part of this subreddit! My number 1 goal right now is to learn as much as I possibly can about accountants.

To be crystal clear I'm not trying to sell anyone anything. In fact I don't even have anything to sell. But what I would love is if I could have a quick 10 minute phone call with someone here? Just to learn more about your problems/struggles?

In return for the 10 minutes I'd be happy to share with you a few marketing tips that will help reach out to more clients on Facebook.

Please comment "Me" if you're interested!

    Thanks so much!

Easy to use survey incentives for international use?

    Posted: 09 Jun 2021 12:45 AM PDT

Hi I need a suggestion for an easy to use survey incentive. I'm planning on sending out a survey in my niche, and I was thinking of adding incentives as a small token of appreciation, maybe drawing 5 $10USD gift certificates. Amazon gift cards have country restrictions, as well as Starbuck egift cards. Can anyone suggest anything that 1) can be used internationally and 2) can be easily purchased and redeemed by recipients internationally?

Hello there, as the title says it - what are the tools (SaaS solutions, etc.) that help you manage or even automate your business (order-delivery process, marketing, insights tools, etc.) ?

And to counter the first question - what parts of the business do you find hard to delegate/automate?

My mom taught my cousins coding online in last one year, now I am thinking of making an app for the same

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 11:34 AM PDT

So as the last year in US was majorly spent learning online, my mom who is a computer science professor took the initiative to teach coding to my cousins who were in 4th and 5th grade. Having a couple of computer science teachers in the family, I started with the project to bring teachers and students together. I have got the basic structure ready with resources, platform ready and to make it a full fledged solution, need to figure out some key answers

How important is coding in younger kids? what is the ideal age to acquire it? Although there wasn't a need for convincing in our family but do the parents play a role in deciding for younger kids?

Would you opt for an online coaching for coding ? Why or why not? What is the ideal format to teach coding to kids online? Like, I have observed we learn faster in a community due to the engagement factor but does it work for school kids as well?

Got a letter to Pay Franchise Tax

    Posted: 09 Jun 2021 12:58 AM PDT

I registered my LLC on 2019. I didnt file franchise tax that year. This year i am filing franchise tax and paid $50 as late fee for last year.

Now I got a letter to pay $1454 in franchise tax and it says to pay at comptroller texas website. Has anyone faced similar issue? i thought we dont owe any franchise tax if our revenue is low.

My total revenue for 2020 and 2019 combined is under 200k and my total revenue inside texas state is under $25k.

    I apologize for bad English.

    Marketing Advice

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 09:11 PM PDT

I recently started a pesticide spraying company for controlling bug populations in people's yard ( mosquitoes, spiders, ants, flies, etc.). I have had about 20 clients the last 2 weeks (the company is 2 weeks old). I have spent around $150 on FB marketing during that time and have also gone around and hung up fliers where I could. I have called the local radio station and it's a little too expensive for what I'd like to spend at the moment. I have also set up my business on google so people can google my business. I am wondering if there is another marketing channel that might get me more clients. I'd love to have 15-20 clients a week. Thanks in advance!

A curated list of inspiring startups from around the world

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 11:10 PM PDT

For months I was looking for websites where I can find new, interesting, and inspiring startups from all over the world. Most of the websites are listing only the very few that are already successful or are focusing exclusively on mobile apps/websites. So I decided to create my own list, share it with other people that are interested, and encourage anyone to submit their startup.

You can find the list here. I am trying to add new startups more often (even daily if possible).

Any feedback or suggestions are welcome.

    WellsFargo for Sending Money Digitally?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 06:48 PM PDT

    Hi there!

I'm trying to find the best way to pay people who we commission directly to their bank account from ours. We currently have a bank account with a small bank, but they don't seem capable of transferring money digitally, they can only mail checks.

Can a WellsFargo business account be used to send money directly to peoples' bank accounts online and internationally? Or is there a better way to do this?

    Thanks!

    Risks and Rewards

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 10:21 PM PDT

How do you decide if the financial risks are worth the possible rewards? I am so terrified right now. I'm about to make a huge investment for what are budget is. To say I have experience in the field would be a lie. I'm passionate and quitting isn't really something I'm familiar with (except that White Castle job when I was 16. Smelling like onions isn't cool in high school.), which is why I am concerned. When I want to do something I go big or go home. Most things work out, but I'm really second guessing myself. I have a full time job. And I'm trying to replace my part time job with starting my own business.

Can anyone tell me the risks they took that made them nervous as hell that ended up working out? I really could use some inspiration

    Customizable Work Uniforms

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 06:14 PM PDT

I have been searching all over the internet for customizable polo shirts. I know of a lot of websites that can throw a logo on a shirt but I am looking to customize the actual shirt. I am specifically looking for a full grey athletic (light/sweat wicking) polo with green sleeves. I don't even know if this is possible but would like to know what resources anyone else has used. Thank you!
