I have to get out of this job.... :/ I genuinely do not like bothering people, this is not for me. Just doing what I have to do while being in college. I hope that I can get out of this position and I've been speaking it into existence that I will find a position that's more suited to me and even an internship in my field...

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 04:50 AM PST

Last week I was calling on of my leads and there was a guy we had a long small talk and then he said if it is possible on Saturday to have the Zoom call. I sent him also the reminder, I waited 30 mins for the guy, but he didn't show up. Now I wrote him an email to reschedule the meeting but he didn't.

Should i follow up on phone until I reach him ?

This simple Google search trick finds you open spreadsheets with prospecting data on anything you want

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 07:53 AM PST

The ability to do precise Google searches and getting relevant results is a superpower that is easy to acquire but most people don't have it.

With Google search operators you can do anything from market analysis, prospecting people on LinkedIn, retrieving fundraising news, finding emails, etc.

But when it comes to spreadsheets, there's a simple trick you can use on your Google searches to find all the openly available spreadsheets out there.

So simple that the only thing you need to do is write the following syntax in your google search:

    • site:docs.google.com/spreadsheets intitle:[anything you want]

I've tried this massively for use cases like: find all public docs / sheets that mention saas companies hiring remotely. Surprisingly, I could immediately find open spreadsheets with lots of companies based on the search.

Here's the example: site:docs.google.com/spreadsheets saas hiring remotely 2020

As I said, there are a bunch of other cases where you can leverage these simple google searches to boost your productivity when trying to find resources online.

After mastering this for a while, I compiled a brief guide with several other examples of google searches that can be useful for anyone in sales. I also wrote a simple explanation of the operators I found most useful for daily Google searches.

    Happy Prospecting everyone! 🤓

    Car Sales Help

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 08:06 AM PST

I am in a Mazda dealership within my small town of 20-30k population. Most people seem to disregard my company and flock to Honda/Toyota due to brand recognition.

We just won most reliable in the world, we have the lost vehicle of any brand with IIHS+ designations and just driving the vehicles seems more luxury then the competition. Our prices are equal, if not less at times but I keep losing deals...

Just trying to gauge how to flip the narrative and earn more business...

    Cross Interviewing

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 07:31 AM PST

I'm currently an AE with hopes of becoming an SDR manager and going more of management route as I find that I enjoy winning as a team, more than being an individual contributor.

I have an interview with a startup, (~45 employees), to be an SDR for their brand new sales team. They have hired two AEs within the last couple of months as their first sales move. They are looking for two experienced SDRs, which I am, and I'm the current front runner.

In our first conversation I mentioned about my goal to become an SDR manager and the interviewer liked it because he wants either of the two SDRs to be a manager in Q3, as far as the plan goes. There are currently some things I'm still debating and would love feedback from it:

Pros: I get to back to SaaS, I love the startup vibe (was at one similar size beofre where I was an SDR and got promoted to SE), potential to follow my career goals, better commute (2-3 days in office)

Cons: lower salary (higher OTE, hoping to negotiate), going from AE to SDR seems like a step back to go two steps forward., not guaranteed to move into management

I really like the opportunity but want to get be able to talk about negotiating a new salary and a more promised path to management. How should I walk into this interview?

Thoughts on my pitch and my rebuttal to “not interested”? (Written in post)

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 01:20 PM PST

Everything I put in ( ) is what I think I should include but please let me know!

    "Hey!

This is ___ from ADT Hope you're having a great day!

Am I speaking to the homeowner?

Great! Really quick, the reason for the call: ADT has a special promotion for homeowners in your postal code. We're looking for a few folks who would be willing to put a ADT sign in front of their home to help raise some visibility in the area. In exchange for doing that ADT would give you our newest wireless system! It's our new smart home model, it's very easy to use (and as I said before if you're willing to put our sign in front of your home there will be) at no cost for the equipment and no cost for the installation! (Would this be something you're interested in discussing further?)"

The only real objection I get is "not interested" I spent the last couple of hours trying to come up with a good rebuttal and I wrote this:

"I understand you wouldn't be interested in a 30sec phone call because you don't have enough information. But I do know you're interested in keeping yourself and your family safe as well as your home from disasters. So What I'll do is have our advisor give you a quick call back and she'll go in-depth about how our newest smarthome system can be a huge asset to you and your family for the monthly monitoring price of about a cup of Tim Hortons coffee a day, sound fair enough?"

What do you guys think? I'm in the mindset that everyone who I call would have to be absolutely crazy to not take this deal. We're offering a BRAND NEW system that costs over $2000 and all they have to do is put a sign in front of their home. Obviously they have to pay for something or we'd go out of business it's an investment of $40/m for the actual service the system provides but the benefits of this system and what it can do is unbelievable. Let me know what you guys think!

How can I move from 3PL to SaaS?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 12:18 PM PST

I've been a logistics broker for a little over a year and a half. I don't like it very much and want to get my foot in the door of the software sales industry. One recruiter for a software company reached out to me on LinkedIn and we had a zoom interview. He was looking for someone with more of a tech background and I didn't get the job. I focus on my sales experience, but what more can I do to get a job in software sales?

I need third party software that tracks job/company changes for my CEO connections on LinkedIn.

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 12:18 PM PST

For example I am connected w/ a list 100 CEOs and at my top prospects companies. Over the last month 9 of those CEOs, whom I have relationships with, moved to new companies/started new companies. Thus presenting an opportunity to sell new business to them. I need a tool that plugs into my stack that can track and feed me job changes for my connections in an organized manner. Apollo.io used to have a trigger for this but not anymore. Any ideas??

    Insurance sales

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 12:03 PM PST

I'm an business consultant for Farmers Insurance here in Southern California, I've been in insurance sales for about 6 years now and I just started in this new position where part of my job is to hire licensed (property and casualty) people to either become a sales producer under one of my agents, or become an agent themselves.

I'm fairly new to this kind of position, it has been tough to find licensed people and I honestly do not even know where to start. I began setting up interviews in the last two weeks with non-licensed applicants (since we're willing to train) and no joke, out of all the 20 people I've scheduled for, only one has shown up. I am, to say the least, f*cking frustrated. I just wanted to post to see if people had feedback/recommendations/opinions about how/where to expand my network

Selling into higher ed (colleges & universities)

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 10:03 AM PST

Curious if anyone has any tips or insights about selling into the higher ed space?

I work for a SaaS company that sells to marketers but any resources that would help me stay up to date on current affairs, learn about conferences/events, and/or provide school information would be immensely helpful.

    Cheers

    Selling to developers

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 09:48 AM PST

I'm interviewing with a company that provides a service to software developers and the recruiter passed me to the next round and she said "they'd (the hiring managers) like to hear how you would sell to software developers". It was a vague statement. The service allows developers to better navigate and automate changes to their code. Does anyone have experience selling to directly to developers and can provide me with advice on their experience selling to developers? Thank you

Tips for a new-grad entering SFDC?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 09:13 AM PST

Hi everyone! Sorry if this is not the appropriate subreddit to post this on. To provide some context, I've only ever worked in marketing roles but will now be starting a new job at Salesforce in the sales department. It's a super new area but I'm trying to learn as much as possible to be the best in my job once I start!

I'd love some tips on how to stand out and how to be a good sales employee :) since it's a rather entry level area, I won't be doing reach outs and such but open to tips to keep in mind as I progress in my career. Thank you!

Any good IAAS/cloud hosting Reddit sales channels out there?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 08:28 AM PST

Hi everyone, I'm a BDR in a major IAAS/cloud service provider in Europe. I just started on the 4th of January after a hellish year of being fired 3 times due to covid, and have no experience in this space. I was looking for a Reddit sales channel specific to these types of solutions. Any ideas?

Also glad to be joining this channel for more general sales tips, tricks, and general knowhow :). If anyone has any questions for me, feel free to ask!

Help to create challenges for sales team

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 07:59 AM PST

    Hello everyone!

I'm trying to create a kind of challenge list for my sales team. In this case, it would be something like a video game, starting with simple tasks and then progressing to more complex tasks, for example:

    • Make your first call
    • Make 5 calls in one day
    • Register 1 new lead in the system
    • Schedule your first meeting
    • Schedule two meetings a day

If you can help me with ideas (you can say whatever comes to mind) I would be very grateful.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Prospect Management Tool

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 07:28 AM PST

Hi Everyone, I'm looking for a prospect/contact managment tool to help track cold prospecting efforts to target accounts.

My company already has a CRM, which is fine for tracking pipeline, (so I don't need deal tracking) but it's terrible for tracking outreach efforts.

Right now I'm using Excel and need something slightly more reliable but just as simple to track sequence efforts (like Email 1, call, Email 2, LinkedIn, etc), set a reminder for the next step, and enter some notes on the contact and company.

Something that works out of the box without much of a learning curve or setup time would be a huge asset.

I've tried just about every major CRM out there lol but none of them quite perform this function intuitively.

Any recommendations would be tremendously appreciated!

    Thanks!

Advice needed: Sales Cross training tool

    Posted: 01 Feb 2021 06:26 PM PST

We are US based software agancy, we worked with 60+ startups and small businesses around country, many of our clients have issue with sales pipelines, cold calling, sales processes etc. After internal discussion we came up with "Chatroulette/eharmony" for sales, and presented to them, most of clients are on board with idea.

The product is going to be for sales professionals with different level of expertise, where they can sign up create a profile. Every week they will be matched with one or two professionals. With them using video or audio call, you can practice: your cold calling, d2d and other skills. After each meeting you can review your opponent, in different areas and this review will appear on their profile privately so they know what to improve and track their progress. Later phase of product you will be able to filter your matches based on industry and other criterias. This tool is still in product development phase and we want to know if any of you will be interested in this kind of product?
