do I need to be registered as a business to rent an office space? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 04:56 PM PDT I know this sounds like an odd question, but here me out. I've been a freelance writer for 11 years. I make good money doing it and do have clients. Though, I don't make nearly enough to call it a business. At least in my opinion. Recently, I've been wanting to rent a real office space for myself. I can work from home, but I find myself getting distracted too easily. Always find myself saying "I'll just watch one more Youtube video." An office would really help me just focus on my work for a specific period of time. The ones in my area are only $100 a month which is super affordable. I was wondering if I legit needed to be considered a business to rent an office space or do they just rent it out to anybody who is willing to pay? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I know nothing about this stuff. Writing is just a fun hobby for me. I just so happen to be able to make some money doing it. [link] [comments] |

There are zero plastic container recycling plants in Canads why? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 03:50 PM PDT With the abundance of canabis products being sold in plastic containers usually much bigger than what is needed to contain the weed that is inside them. Why the hell do we not have a factory or plant to process these plastics and repurpose them. That is a lot of potential jobs for Canadians. Instead the containers are being shipped off to Europe to be recycled. I mean this is just stupid from my perspective and it could be benefitting Canadians with potential work where ever we built these factories in the country. But not only this the government could offer insentive like they do with recycling beer bottles & pop cans. By paying you like 0.05 or 0.10 per container you return. And allow you to save that up and cash it out whenever you wanted. Just a thought. -made a typo with the title *Canada. [link] [comments] |
How to self-create a logo for my online shop? Any good software recommend? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 10:27 PM PDT I've been struggling lately. I've been getting ready to start my business online, and I just know it's a lot harder than I first thought. I've been searching for good software to develop my logo recently, and I came across this post. Wondering whether someone had previously used this AI logomaker? For a novice like me, is it user-friendly? I would love to hear some ideas and feedback! [link] [comments] |
What's the Best Way to Manage a Group of Devs Working on the Same Project? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 09:25 PM PDT I'm going to be starting a small indie game dev team of hobbyists to work on a game in the near future, but I don't have experience with managing a group of people working on a project so how do I go about it in the best possible way? How do I manage them in a nice partnership like fashion while still being the creative director/final say. How do I keep people motivated and excited about the project we're working on? All help is appreciated! [link] [comments] |
How hard is it own a business? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 09:19 PM PDT Im thinking of starting a plumbing heating and air business in the future. I know it will be hard to start it up, but from the day I start, will I ever get a day off? What happens if I can't be there for my company if an emergency happens? What do I do when If I don't want to own the business anymore [link] [comments] |
Is this business idea realistic Posted: 13 Oct 2020 09:12 PM PDT Ok, I want to start a business with kickstarter in developing hoverbikes (search it up). Call me foolish but I think I can solve some problems with this vehicle such as high cost and low battery life. I have one road block though. To make a successful kickstarter I need to have a working prototype first. Ive been trying to find a way to get that cash but nothing is cutting it. Do you think it would be worthwhile to start a precursor campaign to raise money for a prototype? With images made from 3D VFX artists? The prototype development should be under 10000 dollars. Posted: 13 Oct 2020 04:00 PM PDT I once learned a theory back in business school that I am try so hard now to remember its name. Anyone know what that is called? The theory basically says: even for those large, well-known companies they should not overlook the lower end of the market (e.g. Apple should also make cheap phones for those who don't want to spend too much on phones.) If they don't, some other companies (small companies) will come in to the market and despite the low profit margin, the large customer base will help the companies grow and finally compete with those large companies (Apple). Looking to open online business with no savings. Any advice for me? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 10:49 AM PDT I'm looking to open an online business but I don't have any savings. I'm hoping to apply for a business loan or personal loan but my credit is in the 600s. I would need capital in order to buy the inventory I'm looking to sell. Are there other ways to to fund the business that anyone can recommend or any piece of advice at all? I know it sounds like Im jumping head first into the unknown but I feel it's worth the try. Posted: 13 Oct 2020 02:22 PM PDT Hi guys. I started a new position in the beginning of the year, one that my company has never had before. This was a learning experience for us all. (I'm still the only one doing this position). I took this job without a raise or job increase from my former position. Why, I don't know. Fast forward 10 months later and my plate is full. I've created new things for the company, I interact with the stake holders and directors of my company and I'm working 60+ hours a week and still unable to complete the daunting list. As my position was brand new, my responsibilities and tasks have grown since my initial onboarding. I also find myself getting thrown tasks from other people in my department/ other positions to lend a helping hand. I don't feel my work is being valued and I should of gotten a raise from the start. Do you guys have any advice on how to express this without sounding ungrateful for the opportunity but also stress how important I find this? It's coming down to the point where I rather transition back to my old position and leave them hanging. I wouldn't loose any money but I'd loose a lot of stress. Seems like a win win 🤷🏼♀️ [link] [comments] |
How cut-throat is the business world? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 12:14 PM PDT I'm a college student soon to enter the business world. I've always thought of business as extremely competitive and cut-throat. While competition is great, how much lying, deceit, backdeals and the like actually go on? [link] [comments] |
