Is it bad business to try and negotiate at this point? Posted: 14 Aug 2020 01:22 AM PDT I had a phone conversation with a company that will by providing my company an essential service. Their guy said it would cost X amount and be bundled with a certain amount of uses. He asked if this was ok and I said yes. I misunderstood this and thought it was a one time price. I got the contract draft and apparently it's monthly, which is obviously way more expensive, and bundles more than I thought (and more than I need). I either didn't catch him mentioning those terms or he didn't mention it. Neither company has signed yet. It's just in the review phase. Would it be bad business to mention I didn't realize the pricing & terms and try to negotiate it down to less and/or just what I would need? [link] [comments] |
Sole Proprietorship or Single LLC? Posted: 14 Aug 2020 12:57 AM PDT It's funny, i've graduated college with a business degree and still feel helpless in a lot of aspects when it comes to starting up my own business.. The main thing i've been stressing for a while now is whether or not I should continue my dreams as a dog trainer being a Sole Proprietorship or as a Single Member LLC. Ideally some day i'd love to own a facility and employe a few team members or contractors for day-to-day support. My biggest concern with remaining a Sole Proprietorship is the potential risks attached to being sued for something like having a similar logo, business name, or injury of some sort. Luckily pet care insurance helps for any dog related injuries, but you never know just how far an owner may take things with you personally... My business is small, but my dream remains big. For the time being, i'm still just booking by phone and arriving at client's homes or at necessary parks for certain behavioral training. My earnings aren't substantial, but enough to afford work expenses, as well as my personal expenses. If I were ever to be sued for something though, it really worries me just how badly it could go not only for my business, but for my personal life, assets, and credit... Do you personally think in my current situation, it's worth it to remain a Sole Proprietorship until i'm turning higher profits, can expand, and require larger loans or do you personally think it's smart to jump on being a Single Member LLC for other forms of benefit, such as expansion, limited liability, etc? Fees and taxes are kept in mind... Anyone's opinion and success or failure stories are extremely appreciated, thank you! [link] [comments] |
What are Jeffree Star’s investments? Posted: 13 Aug 2020 11:43 PM PDT Aside from YouTube and his makeup company, does anyone know what are his other investments? He seems to have quite a lot. I don't care personally for him but the work put in is impressive. It has inspired me to find investments where you're still getting paid while you sleep. I've been reading a lot on how people achieve this kind of success and I would truly love to learn and take risks while I'm still young. Any feedback is appreciated. I do apologize if this is posted in the wrong place! [link] [comments] |
A question for CTOs and IT involved business owners Posted: 13 Aug 2020 06:45 PM PDT I'm doing a research at US and really need help with understanding: what are your main and most often pains during the development process? Deadlines / quality of development / lack of skilled specialists / problems with tech / problems with remote or outsourcing teams, etc. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 13 Aug 2020 06:24 PM PDT I'm 19 and I want to start my own business in the future, it's vague and I don't have a solid plan yet but it's something I want to do. I'm going into my 4th semester of college for Criminology Degree, but it doesn't interest me anymore and I can't see myself working in that field when I finish. I currently work 2 jobs, 1 of which as military reserve (part time). I plan on switching to a Business degree this or next semester and start saving up now to help me towards my goal. But my question is, what else should I do or should know about? All I really know is that I want to start a business when I'm older because I want to make actual money and not just enough to get by. Is it a good idea/goal even? [link] [comments] |
[Advice] What would you answer if your boss asked "What can I do to make your life better"? Posted: 13 Aug 2020 10:04 PM PDT I've found myself in a similar situation and I know "a raise" is not a valid or desired answer. Just curious if any of you has been in a similar spot. The only context I can give is that it wasn't a greeting ir a formality. It was on a 1:1 meeting where a serious answer was required. [link] [comments] |
I'm getting tonnes of good product and struggling to sell it. Posted: 13 Aug 2020 02:03 PM PDT Basically what title says. The product I'm getting is used clothing, but to paint it more clearly, most of it is either new or with barely visible wear, if any. My company exists now for 7 years, I've been selling from 20 to 100 tonnes a month. It's ups and downs. Main thing here is that they are sold for pennies, by weight. I aim for at least £1 per kilo, but ideally want £1.15, which would make this somewhat decent. Any advice from people who tried it with anything similar, not necessarily clothing even? It just wore me down completely by now. [link] [comments] |
Should I be afraid of Apple's lawsuit? Posted: 13 Aug 2020 05:27 PM PDT Hello there. I think I don't need to tell you about Apple's lawsuit against Prepear because of their logo. Well, I don't think it looks like that, but my business's logo looks WAY MORE LIKE Apple's logo. (https://peachestech.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/benjaminstonawski.png) Should I be afraid of that lawsuit? Should I change the logo as soon as possible? ps: Our logo is not meant to be a fruit, it meant to be a letter C which looks like a fruit. [link] [comments] |
What is a good payroll to gross revenue ratio when running a small retail business? Posted: 13 Aug 2020 09:00 PM PDT I'm considering buying a small retail business and the projected payroll to gross revenue ratio is over 50%. Also, the 2019 tax returns are not done yet. I feel that after purchasing the business I can make things much better because of it's large customer base but there are definitely red flags. [link] [comments] |
Worried Lenders Sue Landlords Unable to Pay Their Loans Posted: 13 Aug 2020 05:09 PM PDT |
Posted: 13 Aug 2020 06:39 PM PDT As I said in the title I would like freedom, I have so many dreams but I need time to get them. For example, I want to pay my parents back, of course, nothing in the world could be anything near what they have provided me with but I would love to show them how much everything means to me. I want to buy them anything they want because they deserve it and so on. I love helping people because when everyone else is happy it makes me happy too. I just don't know where to start. I'm working two jobs right now but it's just not where I want to be. Thank you for taking the time to read this, it would mean so much if someone were to help me out, any comment is appreciated. Posted: 13 Aug 2020 06:21 PM PDT Hey everyone, I have 5+ years of business development and management experience and recently have decided I want to go back to school to become a business analyst. I have also had an interest in programming and have been studying python + SQL/ etc on the side for 6-12 months because I enjoy it. My primary goal is becoming an analyst in a business related role. I want a nice, consistent office job on the business side of things as I enjoy office work, management, team building, sales growth. I figured it would be a no brainer to pursue a Business Marketing/ Management degree, now I am thinking Computer Science would be the way to go? I realized a lot of analyst jobs have a programming angle in some aspects. I enjoy Math and the degree wouldn't be a problem if I worked hard. TL;DR Business degree with programming skills on the side for a Business Analyst position? or Computer Science degree with business skills/ job experience on the side for a Business Analyst position? What would provide me with the best chances of success and security? Thank you!!! [link] [comments] |

Learning the hardway at age 24 Posted: 13 Aug 2020 07:49 AM PDT I had created and have been selling this product for a certain vaporizer unit. this was created with someone in the glass blowing industry so i had to give them the specifics on how they are used and what it was for as they are part my friend (Bad mistake!) This is something that is sold only by me so he should only be able to to sell it wholesale to me as this was a 100 my idea ( no written contract what so ever) But i had found out that he is selling them to others around almost the same price and created a competition from my own damn idea!!!! I know Ive made a mistake for not putting anything on the papers but would it be best for me to just fold this and move on to other products? or should i keep selling it on the side? ( i already have better products that sell almost everyday and i think its best to not stress over it by destroying the bridge thats already burning) [link] [comments] |
