Posted: 05 Aug 2020 11:20 PM PDT I am currently working on a future business. Decided to start it with a friend of mine. I will be honest with you all (I am not completely honest with him about his skills). The problem is that he is actually not good at what he is doing, he has no desire to work. I am trying to motivate him, to inspire him, to tell him that I am sure he will do it. But I actually don't believe in that. He has no motivation and desire to work. He is doing this just because of the money at the end. I give him a task, he can't do it without me. And I cannot think of something he is good at, so he can be helpful for the business. The only con I see is that we will split the expenses. But nothing more than that. What should I do in this type of moments? How should I act? Should I tell him that he sucks and move on or keep him and struggle a month, two, a yea more? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Aug 2020 10:29 PM PDT Basically, the business idea is a strategically monetized internet puzzle. This is how it functions. You put up a puzzle online with a big money reward; Then you put up tasks that allow you to make money from the puzzle solvers like: Go to a website with ads on them, translate something to a language (that you created) that costs [any amount you want] , go to some area that you have to pay for, sign up for some service, or give up your email; And with all the money you got from people trying to solve the puzzle, you make enough to pay the prize back to the winner. To make it seem like you're not milking them for money, you have to integrate these things with the process of solving the puzzle and make everything seem optional. You may even be able to start this up with no capital if you're smart enough, know how to code and know how to market this stuff online for free. The best option for enticing people into this is, youtube videos. If you pay youtubers in the mystery solving niche to "explore" this puzzle, you'll get thousands of wet puzzle solvers on your case. Also, do your research on the mystery solving niche. Youtubers like inside a mind, game theory, and Barely Sociable have lots of content on solving mysteries, and Game Theory is doing a thing where it makes the viewers solve puzzles to win a prize with the tactics he learnt over the years. Earn money with Facebook Ads? Can you give me business ideas? Posted: 05 Aug 2020 08:57 PM PDT This might sound dumb, but I would like to ask for business ideas that I can do if I know how to do campaigns on FB Ads. I used to work on an agency and I was the person who had to manage the ad accounts for their clients. I was managing around Us$30,000 a month. And, in general, I had a good ROAS. Now I don't work with them anymore. I need extra income sources and I don't want to work as a freelance and doing campaigns for other people. What kind of business would you start? I started an eCommerce and it went well (10.75 of ROAS, yay). Just, I need to wait some weeks to keep selling because the fabric is still making my order. So, now I don't have a job anymore (Which used to be my main income source) and can't work on my eCommerce at the moment. This means I have time to start a new project. :) I thought about doing affiliate marketing, but I am not sure. Any idea? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Aug 2020 08:56 PM PDT This will be long, I'm sorry. Tl;dr at the bottom. I started at a great mortgage company in February as a temp (they hire all new hires as temps) and became full time in May or June. I work in the Post Closing Department - specifically in Trailing Docs. All names are changed. When I started it was very disorganized and they were very backed up. They had just started a new process which was going to help them get ahead, and I excelled at it. I should mention I'm decent with computers. I'm no IT guy but I can use a computer and learn software/systems very easily. I am also naturally organized. As of last fall we have been expanding and expanding and expanding. Our work load has more than doubled and our boss realized we needed more people to keep up. In March I trained two new girls (for a total of 4 on our team, the 4th girl -Ben- has been here for 5 years). One was good with computers (Laura) and one wasn't (Mary). At the core of my job, you have to use our company software and you have to be able to use excel (copy/paste mostly) and adobe pdf. Laura replaced me in what I was doing (processing mail), and I moved to doing mostly reporting. She really made the job her own. She created processes and excel sheets and templates to help her do her job much faster than the old way we had been doing it before. Once I saw what she was doing I was elated. I expanded on her ideas and created a system to help it go even quicker. You still don't need to know how to do much except how to copy/paste and know what excel sheets are for what (they are named), although it's nice to have someone understand what the formulas do in excel in case someone deletes them (but we have backups). Fast forward to now. Laura is moved to the Shipping team in Post Closing, no longer in the team I'm in. We have two new girls, and are getting two new guys, all with low computer knowledge. The two new girls know NOTHING about computers. I'm training Sarah, and Ben is training Chloe. Sarah asked me how to open a file folder and didn't know what excel looked like. Ben doesnt like change and has been reluctant to straighten up her work and get on the quick system Laura and I created, so hasn't been teaching Chloe any of the new stuff because it's "too complicated". Mary isn't very knowledgeable about it either. My boss, Aron, doesn't like to fire people. Or let them go. Even the temps. I'm falling behind on my work because I'm training sarah how to use a computer while trying to also train her in our actual job. My boss doesn't understand that our job requires computer knowledge. You need to know how to open a file folder, how to navigate your folders, and what Microsoft office is. What can I realistically do here? I'm only 6 months new and I don't feel like I have seniority enough to boss anyone around, yet I feel we are progressing backwards and getting even less work done. I want us all on the same page and if we need to train people how to use a computer we will need more time away from the work we've been doing or a trainer to do it for us. Any advice is much appreciated. Tl;dr: my new coworkers don't know how to use computers and don't know what excel or Microsoft office even is and my boss doesn't understand that they need this knowledge for the job. I'm only 6 months old into the job and one other girl has been there 5 years and doesn't want to change to the quick system I created either so I don't feel like I can authoritatively tell anyone what to do. What can I do? [link] [comments] |

Is it possible for me to get a loan in my current state of life? (U.S) Posted: 05 Aug 2020 04:48 PM PDT Freshly out of college with 8000 dollars in debt. Pretty good amount of debt to have for most average fresh grads. I have not had a job of any kind above minimum wage but I am seeking a way to get a loan of about 3-5000 dollars. Is this possible ? (If you need any other info about me that would help you tell me what kind of loans are open to me -please ask) I have a personal idea that I wish to invest in which I have been planning for 2 years that can in turn pay off the loan and make me money on top of that. Of course I am not willing to share this idea for the fear of it being stolen! [link] [comments] |

Fast Tracks At Theme Parks: Capitalism or Bribes? Posted: 05 Aug 2020 04:41 PM PDT I went to thorpe park with 2 of my friends today, and on the way back they asked: "what do you think of fast track?" I hadn't given it much thought, but now I realise just how I feel its greedy and rotten. For those who don't know, fast tracks are well people pay a fee (that was at Thorpe Park, substantially more than the tickets to get in,) which allows them to skip the queues and get onto rides in front of normal paying customers. Ok, they paid to save time, what's wrong? Its that every single person who buys a fast track ticket delays someone in the normal queue. I found this to be insulting, as the normal queues took around one and half hour for a 30 second ride, while the fast track tickets people queued for maximum 5 minutes. ( Discaliamer: Thorpe park doesn't currently sell fast track tickets due to Covid 19, but we researched the prices and times before the pandemic.) Now, my friends compared this to first class on an aeroplane, and how they get to board first. Which is, quite frankly, bullshit. On a plane, if you get first class, you get nice seats and free (kind of) food, but this doesnt actually affect the person in economy in anyway. Sure they dont get free food, but the plane takes off and lands at the same time for everyone, which is ultimately what you are paying for. See fast track in that scenario would be where you dont know what plane you are on, and you just have to line up for hours for the next available plane for where you are going. UNLESS... you pay more. Then you immediately get a seat, and go, and someone who has queued regularly has to take the next plane. Because that is ultimately what it is. Anyways, thats my thought. Anyone got anything to add, or argue with? [link] [comments] |

Obtaining license for free lance entertainer in California ? Posted: 05 Aug 2020 04:31 PM PDT Sorry if these seems incredibly stupid to ask, i promise I did my research before coming here! After researching it seems as though I may need several licenses and I am just trying to get advice from anyone who may know more about this. In short, I just started being self employed as an independent entertainer. People inquire with me through my website or social media about booking me for private events, modeling , music videos, etc. I do make quite a bit from doing this. I am in santa clara county of California and want to ensure I don't get in trouble somehow by not having any licenses. What is required for a business like this to have as far as licenses go? thanks to all who give insight! [link] [comments] |
Does anyone know a system or something I can use as alerts for Orders? Posted: 05 Aug 2020 12:49 PM PDT I have cake orders on a weekly basis and sometimes like once every 3 months I miss a cake order or I forgot there's an order early morning. Which causes a bit of a chaos when the client comes to pick up no cake. I want to prevent this, maybe a screen with alerts or calendar, etc. Any suggesting or ideas? [link] [comments] |
Client funding escrow for procurement Posted: 05 Aug 2020 11:43 AM PDT I'm procuring a product for clients, where I'll be signing the contracts and doing all the paperwork myself to speed things up. I'd like the clients to fund escrow before I begin procurement so I can prove that funds are available through my company, as I'm legally the buyer, but while at the same time giving the client some control over their funds. I need some help figuring out how to execute this [link] [comments] |
Business Bankruptcy with a SBA COVID Disaster Loan - What are the Consequences? Posted: 05 Aug 2020 11:24 AM PDT Hi Reddit - we received a SBA COVID disaster loan for our business. We are not currently at the point of filing bankruptcy, but we wanted to know our options should the time come. The loan amount was under $200,000, which I believe did not require a personal guarantee. This is currently our only source of debt. If we file for bankruptcy and default on this loan, what are the consequences for us personally? Can they come after any of our personal assets without a personal guarantee? Will a business bankruptcy affect our personal credit? In what ways will this affect us personally and financially? Any information would be greatly appreciated- thank you very much! I had an idea I'd like to run by anybody knowledgeable Posted: 05 Aug 2020 11:21 AM PDT Prerequisite knowledge: Some understanding of the functioning of co-operatives, particularly worker co-ops. I'm imagining a combination publicly/worker owned restaurant funded by a form of financial instrument that I haven't come across. It goes like this: Shares are automatically granted to workers at the beginning of their employment, as well as continually earned over time such that the longer one is employed, the more they own. Shares can also be purchased, however, either as soon as they are purchased, or as soon as one stops investing (including via employment), a countdown for those shares begins with the end result being that a passive investor's stake in the company will be automatically bought out either by the restaurant or some other active participant. The target investor would be someone interested in generating and maintaining local wealth. So the main points are: [link] [comments] |
