Accepted an Accounts Receivable Clerk position today Posted: 05 Aug 2020 06:55 PM PDT I accepted an accounts receivable clerk position today for a small company. I have no experience, & have only been in college for two semesters of my associates in accounting. I'm excited, but also nervous, what do I expect? [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Aug 2020 10:05 AM PDT I know there's been a thousand posts about finding a job after graduation but HOLY SHIT its tough. Every single entry level job I find requires at least 1 year, usually 2 years though, of experience and is typically only around 15-18 an hour. A bachelor's degree and 2 years for 35k a year? Am I just naive and have been expecting too much, or is this typical? Btw, I got my degree through a lesser known online school after fucking up the first few years of my life after high school, so no internship. I'm taking grad courses now through the same school working toward my CPA. [link] [comments]

Are you paid hourly or annually (accounting jobs) ? Posted: 05 Aug 2020 06:43 PM PDT Higher positions are mostly annual salary. So, if it is really busy and you work 70 hrs a week you just get the same salary. I also heard that jobs in audit are annual salary but during the low season people work less so it compensate with the high season. [link] [comments]

I am currently failing as an accountant in my first core accounting work. Posted: 05 Aug 2020 09:07 PM PDT Hey guys I am (22M). Its been a year since I am working for an accounting firm and two years since I graduated college. My job designation is of a VAT consultant, however I have been given the opportunity of core accounting for a client whose business is primarily manufacturing Bakery products. It's Been two months and I am slogging so badly that I think I wasn't meant to be an accountant. The work load is so much that I am getting piled on with work and clocking almost 12 hrs every alternate days. I can't even close the monthly books and none of my figures are matching as per my excel sheets. As you all may know now, that this is my first core accounting work for any clients as before that I was into consulting I only handled VAT. I would like to what suggestion you guys would give or what similar experience you guys had when starting off in the accounting field? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Aug 2020 06:29 PM PDT Today my CFO came back Into area were we work. I was on my phone. What happened was i running solver and it takes like 2-3 minutes. I was taking a mental break. I also went on tinder but I'm not super certain she saw that. I was thinking about explaining it tomorrow, we also have two 15 minute breaks during the day tho I didn't take them because it's a busy time [link] [comments]
I forgot about a vendor for 5 months... Posted: 05 Aug 2020 02:26 PM PDT I started back in mid-January and was still learning about W9s and stuff back then. In March. had a vendor send my client an email with an invoice that he forwarded to me and I in turn responded I would like to see their W9 so I can set the vendor up. It's below the needed $600, but I wouldn't know...I was provided a two second training for my job and told "collect ALL W9s." Lo and behold, I was still learning and got busy and the vendor never responded until now. I had forgotten to follow up with them!! The W9 returned today...I don't even need it anymore, it's a lower than $600 amount, he's new and I'm sure it's his only invoice yet. I'm so embarrassed...I don't even know how I'm going to tell my manager or my client that I let this invoice slip by me for 5 months... [link] [comments] |
