Robinhood traders cash in on the market comeback that billionaire investors missed Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:43 AM PDT Retail investors capitalized on the market comeback, unlike the billionaire hedge fund managers that said stocks would retest their lows. Millennial favored stock trading app Robinhood saw new investors piling into stay-at-home stocks and those most beaten down by the economic shutdown, like airlines, casinos and hotels. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:08 AM PDT I know this story has been posted already, but it's things like this that have historically indicated a market top. The story leads with this... "One 26-year-old Robinhood trader made $1,500 in less than 24 hours betting on a beaten-down airline stock,..." This is a perfect example that there are no more buyers, as the street would say. When people are excited about overpaying for something and amateur traders are talking about how easy it is to make money and how stupid the smart money is, you've reached the end of the line. I haven't been on reddit long, but the amount of activity related to people never having invested asking advice as to how to invest, where to invest, and having long term time horizons measured in months is surely a good indication the small fries are indeed about to get fried. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 03:49 PM PDT Smith and Wesson seems like a terrific buy right now. Earnings have to be through the roof when they report next week. Especially with large cities attempting to dismantle their police forces, along with prolonged protests and the potential for more protests in the upcoming months, demand for guns should be high. A couple people I know, whom I would never suspect of buying guns are trying to get their license this week. Especially if Joe Biden continues to show higher poll numbers, I don't see how this stock doesn't continue to go up. [link] [comments] |

So you Missed the Market Rally and you’re pissed about it? What to do? Sell a Put! Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:04 PM PDT Right now some of you are likely pissed you missed the market rally. No problem. Figure out at what price you are willing to pay for 100 shares of a company and sell a put. If the price does not go to your strike you get the premium. If the option expires in the money you'll get the shares you wanted for the price you wanted (If exercised). It's a win win 😎. Perhaps an old fashioned strategy but tried and true. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 01:08 PM PDT Hi all, bought a few shares of Gnus on Thu as it was free falling and it has been a true nightmare since. Although, I kept buying on the dip everytime. My average cost is $4.33. Do I hold it let it go if it drops again below $4?? Do you guys see it recovering soon?? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:58 PM PDT So, I remember back in 2017 I invested in crypto right when it was sky rocketing and thought I was ahead of my youth and it was the easiest money I've ever made. Fast forward to now and my investments are worth pocket change. I don't want to compare the crypto market to this market but this seems eerily similar to when I invested back then. Everyone and their mom saying it's so easy to make money and now's the time!!! I don't know if this truly is the same thing or not, I just wanted to offer my words of caution for anyone, especially new investors, investing their whole life savings thinking it's free money. Personally I think this is a bubble and all the new investors are going to sell at the first sign of a dip. I hope everyone can make some life changing money just be careful out there. Web app to track the performance of your stock portfolio Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:39 PM PDT Hello all, due to the coronavirus and being locked inside all day the past couple of months, I've been learning about web app development. Since I'm also very active on the stock market myself, I decided to create an app for myself to track my portfolio's results. Here are some screenshots, I would like to get some suggestions from other stock market enthusiasts on how I could further improve this app, whether it is functionality or design. TL;DR: I made an app to track the performance of my investment portfolio (mainly stocks and options at the moment). More technical geeky details: it's a Progressive Web App (PWA) built in Angular/Ionic and hosted on Google Firebase (free tier, since I'm the sole user of the app). Because it is a PWA, the app is accessible from any browser/any device and it can also be added to the home screen of your device so that it has the same look and feel as a native iOS/Android application. If interested in more details, let me know! [link] [comments] |
ZI pump by Mad Money with Jim friggin’ Kramer. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 03:27 PM PDT Kramer just talked up ZI and it shot up +$6 after hours. It's the reason why I'm learning machine learning so I can teach the fucking algos to read articles and watch the damn news. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 10:17 AM PDT They just put their stock on the market! VRM (Vroom) is Carvana's largest online used car dealership. It could be a big one! Check it out, let me know what you think!! [link] [comments] |
I was told to always put money into the stock... Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:53 PM PDT So I'm told by everyone who invests in the stock to always put money into it even if you dont buy stocks. Just incase a stock goes down and you can buy the dip and what not. What's the best way to calculate how much money to put into ur stock account each month? For me I have a savings account which I put 20-30% of my pay check each week into the account. I try and stay consistent with my stock each month and put money into it. But how much should I be putting into the account? 10% ? 20% ? So my question is how much do you guys put into ur stock account each month. [link] [comments] |
Bears have gotten slaughtered and took inexperience traders with them. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:58 PM PDT Its the worst when new traders with so much inexperience and conviction feel the need to comment on market direction and price action. So many people are already clueless or desperate so they WILL take comments or suggestions to heart and end up loosing their shirts. Hope this wasn't the case, as I warned of it here before hand near the lows when everyone was loading the boats with shorts. Lets do better guys. Screenshot [link] [comments] |
How do you monitor upcoming FED events/announcements that will have market impacts? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:46 PM PDT Dumb fuck here, serious question don't be a dick, wanna know how other ppl monitor/watch this. What do you use/how do you find out about fed/jpow events that could affect markets? Do you look at https://www.federalreserve.gov/newsevents.htm because I don't how to read that? For instance:
WTF do any of these actually mean. I don't see any description of the event just a title that could mean anything. Are those open door public events, that can have a market impact or something they plan to review privately? Or what? Again I'm a dumb fuck [link] [comments] |
China listed companies on US stock exchange Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:38 PM PDT Thoughts? Impacts of those Chinese companies alike on Wall Street now if this does happen? What happens to the likes of JD/ALIBABA/NIO etc.. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:03 PM PDT As seen today with Vroom (VRM), the IPO market is looking very strong. With AZEK coming up possibly tomorrow or Thursday, what are predictions on price at close on release date? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:58 PM PDT Have we left the period of every week starting off with a serious red day and good deals? There has been some losses over the last few weeks, but nothing serious like we saw in April-- Disney Stock was at $85 and it has almost reached $130 now, all in a fairly short time. Do you anticipate fairly steady growth from now on? It seems as if there is not much turmoil at all, despite the news. I have been waiting and holding, but all I have seen recently is the stock market going up. [link] [comments] |
Your most underrated stocks right now? (nothing too obvious) Posted: 09 Jun 2020 11:13 AM PDT If you're thinking of not sharing, consider that other people knowing about it will only act to generate more interest and bid up the price - a good thing if you're holding the mentioned stock. Mine is Wirecard AG - A German payment processor that was booming before running into some regulatory issues but could be grossly undervalued if they are able to come out the other side relatively unscathed and without having to wipe out some previously declared earnings. Disclaimer - I'm not currently invested. Look forward to hearing yours. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 02:55 PM PDT Now Wall Street is starting to wonder what level the 10-year Treasury yield has to cross before the Fed moves to put a lid on interest rates. Ultralow interest rates are supportive of economic growth and higher stock market valuations. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 02:29 PM PDT First investments. 20 shares of nrgu at $7.12 5 shares of uso at $28.04 Im holding them longterm until the numbers blow back up when the market gets up and running again (bc of coronavirus). What do you guys think of my decision? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:13 PM PDT Noob question: I currently have stocks in my Robinhood and TD Ameritrade accounts but would like to consolidate them to my TD. I know I can pay (I think $75) to transfer all my Robinhood stocks to TD, but why shouldn't I just sell all my stocks on Robinhood and use the money to instantly buy the same stocks on TD (for around same price), thus saving on the $75 transfer fee? I'm asking because my combined portfolios are only <$4k so $75 is somewhat significant. Is there a benefit to transferring the stocks from one brokerage to another rather than selling on one and buying on another? Will selling then buying affect my dividends? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 06:07 PM PDT I've been pretty bullish on the market up to this week, and have decided to pull out about 1/6th of my stocks for about a 25% profit. The rally upward has made me somewhat nervous lately considering how horrible the economy is right now. Possibly this selling was a mistake, but I don't feel like this rally is sustainable anymore.
