$DGLY DD | Why it a possible 100%+ run on Monday - Get In While You Can

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 01:32 PM PDT

    Watchlist: 6/8 I'm Workin' Here!

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 04:32 AM PDT

    Market Notes:

Friday's surprise jobs gains sustained the bully rally. Though bears quickly pointed out some technicalities in the report, there was a significant number of job gains. The news was a welcome catalyst for a hard hit labor market.

The airlines are all recovering as Goldman Sachs is predicting a V-shaped recovery.

OPEC has agreed to historic production cuts to stabilize oil prices.

All this as protest and civil unrest continues. Minneapolis just voted to disband the police department.

COVID-19 appears to have been crushed in the former epicenter NYC. Cases continue to grow in other areas around the country.

    Watchlist:

ICLK is a low float, support at $5.70

NAVB is a low float, resistance at $3.50

ATOS is a low float, watching for a setup above $3.50

DGLY is a low float, flying in the premarket, watching for a setup above $4

DMPI is a low float, resistance at $1.25

EFOI is a low float, support likely at $1.35

DLNG is a low float, on watch

    HOME has resistance at $7 & $7.38

    ACTG has resistance at $3.80

APPS watching for a setup above $9.80

    Taxes on gains confusion

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 07:11 PM PDT

I tried searching for my answer but came across some contradicting info. I was trying to fully understand paying taxes on profits. I ynderstand short/long, etc.

I was confused because I read somewhere that If you profited over a certain amount you had to pay taxes throughout the year instead of just waiting for the end of year. But who's to say I don't lose a lot in December which would effect my taxable gain. Does this make sense?

Hypothetically let's say I sell something in the summer for 15k profit. Do I need to do anything then, or just wait till end of year?

Is this what a bubble looks like?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 02:09 PM PDT

I'm hoping to generate some discussion on if we're in a bubble, and what kind of data we can look at to help us reach a consensus.

    From Investopedia:

"An asset bubble occurs when the price of a financial asset or commodity rises to levels that are well above either historical norms, the asset's intrinsic value, or both."

Now, the P/E ratio of SPY is currently around 27 according to WSJ here. That's extremely rich, but it's not entirely accurate. Earnings reports are backward looking, so even before we have Q2 reports showing the full impact of COVID, the market is arguably overvalued.

I looked around today and saw something I've never seen in my nearly 10 years in the market (I know I've still got lots to learn). Hertz, a company on the verge of bankruptcy, went up over 100% today.

ZM and NKLA are two more examples of stocks that have P/E's in the thousands, and from the trading activity, it looks like a game of greater fool to me.

So is this what a stock market bubble looks like?

Is the market pricing in a severe devaluation of the USD?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 07:35 PM PDT

Over the last 50 days the USD has taken a 10%+ dive against most major currencies. Ceteris paribus stock market and USD should have an inverse relationship. This is because a stock at $20 worth say €18 may now only be worth €15. Also - people don't want to hold cash so they're more likely to put it into equities. Obv certain companies have tailwinds or headwinds depending on whether they export or import but I'm talking all things held equal.

I know over the years the market has actually had a slightly positive correlation with the dollar but a sharp decrease would almost certainly cause a rise. The way things are valued right now it seems like the USD is poised to go lower. What do you guys think?

DGLY and AAXN stand to reap profits from the house bill today — hundreds of millions of dollars

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 09:43 AM PDT

Wednesday is the big day. Price Target on DGLY is 20. AAXN is 115.

    https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6939045-Justice-in-Policing-Act.html

This legislation expects to require nationwide use of body cameras, according to congressional sources (Section 372). Also reported in major outlets (APnews, Reuter's, NYTimes, CNBC).

AAXN (Axon) is a very well known and qualitative supplier of law enforcement equipment. It's lesser known brother, DGLY (Digital Ally) is less qualitative but has a huge margin of profit for investors.

    • For example, DGLY recently sold $2.5mil of cameras to the KCPD, which has only 1,400 police officers, as each camera costs $500-$1,500.
    • There are 150,000 federal uniformed officers and an additional 650,000 state and local officers.
    • Some rough math tells us that this is an estimated $225mil-nearly $1bil in revenue.
    • This is not solely confined to state lines Canada as well utilizes Axon and Digital Ally cameras as well. The Toronto Police Dept has Axon / the Montreal Police Dept has Digital Ally.
    • During the Ferguson riots, DGLY hit $30 without any legislation motion.
    • This morning, DGLY just unveiled a new subscription program this morning for its cameras to offset an offering revision that had already been in the works far before the riots.

Should this legislation not pass, there is still great demand for these cameras at the state level. Regardless of whether this legislation passes I do believe we can see AAXN approaching $110 or higher and DGLY approaching $20.

    DGLY $5c 6/19 + shares AAXN $100c 6/19, $110c July

    Anyone got calls on $SPCE?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 03:07 PM PDT

I got eyes on $20+. The company reminds me a lot of $TSLA... people believe it was a 1 time pump and will be surprised when $SPCE goes back to $40 highs again. People thought $TSLA was a meme at $900 and look at it now 😂😂 dropped to 4-500 and right back at $900. Bullish asf on $SPCE!

Chesapeake Energy Corp (CHK:NYSE) What the... O_O

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 07:37 PM PDT

June 4, opens @ $13.11 and closes at $13.99 June 5 opens @ $16.48 a 17% gap up, and closes at $24 which is a 76% return from the prior close. This morning opens @ $40 closes today at $69.92.

Extended after hours post-market is down $28 / 40% Did some basic research and this seems like it's pure play on the economy reopening and people sucking down oil like its going out of style..... No real news, no earnings, no merger, just hope. And it's up 400% in 3 trading days.

    Just nuts.

Options give the ability to make accelerated gains. If the stock went up 400% in 3 days, I cant imagine the kind of money people made on calls this week.

    Coronavirus Wave 2

Trying to get a gauge on when people think the second wave of coronavirus will hit. I am suspecting within 2-3 weeks from today, and that the entire market will drop again as it did in early March.

Amazon customers are less happy with the service despite a massive boost from coronavirus lockdowns

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 05:48 PM PDT

    https://finance.yahoo.com/news/amazon-customers-less-happy-coronavirus-192943380.html

Despite the spike in sales and Prime subscriptions, Mahaney says RBC's survey found that customer satisfaction with Amazon has hit an all-time low.

"Our survey results showed declining and record low satisfaction levels across Amazon customers," he wrote in a research note.

According to the survey, 64% of the 2,800 respondents said they were extremely or very satisfied with Amazon's service. That's lower than Walmart, which sits at 70%, and Etsy which has 77% customer satisfaction. Ebay, on the other hand, has just 60% customer satisfaction.

Please someone tell me what mistake I just made. I KNOW I DID NOT DO A PERFECT TRADE?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 12:45 PM PDT

but for the life of me I cannot figure out how I can lose money here.

    stock: HTZ {of course}

    play: 3 options.

    sold: $5 put exp 01/15/21

    sold: $1 Call exp 01/15/21

    bought: $6 Call exp 01/15/21

    15:36 06/08/2020, Interactive Brokers

    premium received: $675

by my Cro-Mag-Don math I can lose a max of $500 on this position at expiration..... what is the risk?

even if I get early assigned on the ITM call the $6 call protects me from losing more than $500 and I can buy back the $5 put for the win.

We all no there is no free lunch on the markets.... What am I missing here?

    help please.

    Hertz?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 10:17 AM PDT

Bought hertz stock at .80 now it's up around 4$, curious what thoughts are behind the validity of the stock. I know they just went bankrupt but should I sell given I got at .80? Seems like a price floor, but according to some info out today it may take another devastating drop.

Ok so I am starting to see people FOMO'ng

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 07:19 PM PDT

Time to sell. Sorry but people are being greedy and we are almost back to ATH, FROM A FREAKING 10 YEAR BULL RUN WHERE FUCKING EVERYTHING WAS ALREADY OVERVALUED.

When I see people asking questions like "bank loan to invest in stocks" and "what to buy tomorow" I know this shit is going the other direction soon... or not but I rather take my profits than being greedy.

I don't know about you americans, but here in Canada all i see is more and more companies seeking creditor protection and people that rather profit from the govt "checks" than going back to work.

Add to that I got a buddy at AC that didn't fly since march and still being paid 75% of his salary sitting is lazy ass at home.

Teens don't want to go work because they make more getting a check from papa govt than working.

Anyways buy your airlines and boat cruise stocks im stockpilling my cash monies.

S&P 500 erases its loss for the year as stocks rally on reopening optimism

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 02:35 PM PDT

    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/07/stock-market-futures-open-to-close-news.html

The stock market rallied once again on Monday, pushing the S&P 500 into the green for the year as the benchmark completed its wild round trip amid the coronavirus pandemic. Investors are growing more and more optimistic about a speedy economic recovery as states continue to reopen.

Stocks finished the day at their session highs with the S&P 500 jumping 1.2%, or 38.46 points, to 3,232.39. The equity benchmark turned positive for the year in the final moments of Monday and has now bounced more than 47% off its March low. At one point this year, the S&P 500 was down more than 30%. It's now positive for 2020 by 0.05%.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 461.46 points higher, or 1.7%, to 27,572.44, trimming its 2020 losses to 3.3%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 1.1% to 9,924.74, hitting a fresh record high and bringing its year-to-date gains to 10.6%.

Stocks tied to the reopening of the economy, including airlines, retailers and cruise lines, led the gains once again. United Airlines was up 14.8%, while American Airlines jumped 9.2%. Kohl's added 8.4%. Shares of Carnival Corp. were up 15.8%.

Wall Street was also riding high on the back of a surprise surge in U.S. employment. The Labor Department said Friday the economy added 2.5 million jobs in May, a record. Economists polled by Dow Jones had forecast a drop of more than 8 million.

Whats the propwr way to become a full time trader?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 05:42 PM PDT

My wife wants to start trading as her primary job. We know it will take time, and how the market is now isn't the norm.

Here are my specific questions: Does an LLC help with taxes?

What's the best type of account for professional trading? Roth vs. traditional vs. something else I don't know about

We are planning to set up an Ameritrade account. They seem to have lower fees, extensive pre and post-trading hours, and useful educational resources. What other resources do you suggest?

If there is anything, I didn't think to ask, please let me know. I am trying to make sure we set her up correctly from the start.

Thank you for your time and advice!
