will our taxes Go up to service all this public debt? Posted: 15 May 2020 12:51 AM PDT Currently I'm more concerned about how the government is going to pay for all of this. They get money from property/income/sales taxes... We aren't shopping locally, unemployment is skyrocketing, and property value is in limbo. Will the government just keep borrowing from itself that it locks interest at a set amount that we can possibly repay back? [link] [comments] |

Reasonable salary for S corporation owner Posted: 14 May 2020 09:27 PM PDT I have a SINGLE MEMBER LLC which I incorporated last year, it is my side hustle I currently make about $20,000 a year as an accountant (I am 20 years old and I have half a year of experience) And my LLC earns a net income of $15,000. My gross receipts are $190,000. I am a real estate construction business and thats why the huge difference in revenue to net income. I plan to become an S corp to save some taxes on those 15k. BEFORE YOU SAY "YOU EARN TO LITTLE TO BECOME AN S CORP" I handle my bookkeeping, taxes and every other thing so it has no extra fees associated. Yes I know all the rules and I know an S corp is more formal. The only thing I do not know is if paying myself a $6,000 salary would be reasonable for this business. Given that this is just a side hustle and that I have a full time job, $6000 which is about 25% of my job income seems reasonable to me. What are your opinions? I dont want the IRS 2 years from now telling me I owe them taxes. TL;DR I want to know if $6,000 is a reasonable salary for my business netting $15,000 a year. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 May 2020 12:25 AM PDT Hey guys, I would be very grateful if you could fill out a short questionnaire about experiences with mobile applications focused on mental health and wellbeing. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Link: https://forms.gle/XU557avDn4TZxJxY9 Thank you! [link] [comments] |

Is this a good idea for a teenager? Posted: 14 May 2020 04:12 PM PDT I'm 17 years old and want to spend my time wisely while I'm quarantined. I'm thinking about opening an Etsy store and using printify to sell print on demand products like shirts and other articles of clothing. I have graphic design experience so I can come up with unique designs for the clothing. I want to gain more experience with business and definitely do not want to waste my time like other kids. Is this a good idea? Or should I put my focus elsewhere? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 May 2020 09:56 PM PDT Side hustles What are good side hustle ideas that do not make me a slave of my own business? I know that if I want to grow a successful business I need to focus and dedicate time to my business BUT i am a recent graduate with a masters in accountancy. I am 20 years old and I am still learning a lot. I opened a year ago an LLC in which I build single family residential houses and get about a 25k net profit on a $160k investment without dedicating much time to it. YES i did spend a LOT of time and sleepless nights planning everything, making calls, finding contractors, and setting an automation control that everything I do now is just follow my own guides I made. I would love to do the same thing in another type of business so I can learn more about other businesses and then decide which one I want to focus on and grow or maybe do both at the same time and grow them both. I currently make 20k on my job so this side hustles are really helping my income. I do work full time as an accountant 40 hours a week so I really need a business that I do not need to spend a lot of time every single day. I am willing to spend a lot of time planning everything and running it the first 6 months or 1 year but after a year maybe spend 30 mins a day on it. I wanted to get ideas from previous experiences of users in this group. An example of a busines I DO NOT WANT to open would be a restaurant. Restaurants have to deal with a lot of employees, regulations, and day to day problems that if something goes wrong you can face a lawsuit really quick. TL;DR Side hustle recommendations that do not take much time after they are set up. Example: construction company. Opposite: Restaurant. [link] [comments] |
