    Business SIC code

    Posted: 29 May 2020 07:44 PM PDT

Hi, its my first post here and I'm glad there's a subreddit for this topic. I have an LLC registered with the State of California and planning to register for a city license to sell and I'm not sure what my SIC code would be. I thought it would be in the Articles of Organization but it isn't. Is it something we determine? Our business is basically ordering custom stickers from a print company and reselling them, and it's only online.

Also, if we start selling clothing, would we change our SIC?

    Which logo do you like?

    Posted: 29 May 2020 09:12 PM PDT

I am starting a business doing web design for small businesses and companies with little or no tech support. I am in the process of picking a logo. Please tell me which one you like and whether you think a modification is necessary?

When buying from a distribution company

    Posted: 29 May 2020 07:39 PM PDT

Let's say a distribution company has parts you want to sell on your e-commerce site. Do you need permission or anything like that to purchase from the distribution company and to sell?

Update on the 2 weeks notice letter demanding a Schedule change.

    Posted: 29 May 2020 06:40 PM PDT

It was a total success, my boss apologized and said I was right, they also said that they will basically let me choose my entire schedule, and basically pleaded with me to stay.

I know my worth and I took the risk and it payed off, I am now in total control of my schedule and have first preference.

Turns out they really did need me more than I needed them (which I made clear by putting all the other options I had in the letter)

Ask for a raise during Covid?

    Posted: 29 May 2020 05:49 PM PDT

Coming up on my 1 yr anniversary at my first job out of college (so lower end of the pay scale). Wanting to ask for a raise, but it's been conveyed that business has slowed for the company with each department having reducing budgets. What would be the best course of action to incite the pay increase conversation and how would that be affected by the current state of the economy?

One business owner's triumph over the corona lochdowns

    Posted: 29 May 2020 12:18 PM PDT

I type this with a lot of regret and compassion for all the businesses that have been hurt by the pandemic.

It's a little story, and some of the things I've learned.

Chris and Brian are in the same industry. They both help entrepreneurs advertise on Google.

When the Covid lockdowns started, Brian's clients shut down their ads and stopped working with him. He lost the majority if his revenue.

Chris' clients on the other hand continued to advertise and it allowed him to keep his business afloat.

    The lessons:

    1. Paid search is useful for the entire buying funnel not just the top....

    • Most advertisers stick with the bottom of the funnel. That's the low hanging fruit. Where people are ready to pull out their credit cards.
    • People at the bottom of the funnel didn't start out ready to buy. They went through a series of steps, from researching to comparing to making a decision.
    • Paid search can and should be attracting them from all stages of the buying funnel.
    • Building an audience is the goal. Getting customers is the result.

    2. Understanding the buying funnel is key...

    • When you understand how this works, you change your mind about the value of a paid search campaign.
    • When you've changed your mind about it, as an agency, you can educate your clients about how you do your work.
    • The way you convince is by showing your clients how it works with real world examples of how it has produced results for others.

    3. Your clients understand the shift in strategy...

    • You give them a reality check: "Things aren't going to be exactly the same as they were before!"
    • They understand the need for a refocus of budget.
    • They continue to trust you in your competence of running their ads.
    • They stick around.

    4. In a time of crisis, you focus on a different part of the funnel like this...

    • Lockdowns mean people aren't out buying your products and services.
    • But it doesn't mean they've stopped being potential customers, they are just staying at a different stage in the funnel, waiting for a better environment
    • You continue to reach them with messages that resonate with the current environment.
    • The top of the funnel continues to work.

    5. This isn't the first crisis the world has seen...

    • From the great depression to the 2008 crisis, we've been there before.
    • We didn't all come out as losers, in fact, some came out with big gains.
    • Which means that there is opportunity for those that can see it and and harness it.

    6. Despite it all, there isn't a silver bullet...

    • Some of us have been hit harder than others.
    • Some of our businesses will die.
    • Some will come out hurt but still standing.
    • Some will come out unscathed.
    • Some will come out thriving.

I hope you are part of the last group.

    Be well.

Best Bachelor's Degree to pursue with GI Bill

    Posted: 29 May 2020 03:48 PM PDT

Hey guys! I will be going back to school to obtain my Bachelors Degree. My ultimate goal is to open my own business. What business you ask? Not 100% sure but opening my own gym seems worthwhile and exciting to me.

I have full military GI Bill benefits. Which for those of you who are unsure as to what that is, it will pay for 3 years of school tuition + a fixed monthly income for me to live on. Meaning I will not have to work while attending school.

What do you guys think would be the most beneficial degree to pursue for Entrepreneurs? Some degrees I have been heavily leaning towards are Business Marketing, Business Management, or Business Admin (I've read from y'all that a Entrepreneurship degree is useless, still true?). What degrees do you guys have, would you change your degree if you could, and to what? Are the degrees I'm considering a good route? Thanks for any responses!

    Protest At The Federal Reserve

    Posted: 29 May 2020 03:00 PM PDT

    Hello everyone.

The Federal Reserve is in the process of the biggest financial heist in modern history. They are getting away with screwing the everyday average American, but are bailing out the rich and wealthy. The Federal Reserve is currently burdening future generations with mountains of debt, they are in the process of a massive transfer of wealth from the bottom 90% to the richest of the rich, and are bailing out Wall Street while leaving Main Street to die. We must bring a stop to this.

We will be hosting a protest outside the Federal Reserve Building in Washington DC. The original plan is to protest Saturday, May 30th at 8pm EST. However, we are strongly considering moving it to sometime Monday during market hours. This is not just a DC thing! You can help out by sharing the movement below!

Here is the original protest tweet with over 300 retweets (Please like and retweet): https://twitter.com/MoneyMnuchins/status/1266398326167080960?s=20

Also, join our official discord to discuss the protest and get announcements: https://discord.gg/vdRc3eY

Feel free to share and join the movement!

Any tips would be really appreciated. Thanks you

I'm just asking for tips or tricks here not promoting as this post has no indication what exactly, where or how to access my business (just hoping this post doesn't break any rules at this subrredit)

How much do I charge for... YouTube

    Posted: 29 May 2020 09:27 AM PDT

So I just graduated from college with my BA in Interactive Multimedia and am doing small freelance jobs at the moment because graphic design places aren't exactly hiring at the moment.

Just found someone who needs help starting up a YouTube channel. I'd basically be teaching her how to upload stuff, tagging, channel layout, etc. I don't know any more specifics but I honestly have no idea how much to charge for this. What's an appropriate amount?

    Thanks!
