When Jordan Belfort realises Grant Cardone Is An Idiot Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:38 AM PDT This video is hilarious! Grant seems to disagree with every single opinion from Jordan just for the sake of disagreeing. Very early in my sales career I picked up some insights from GC on closing, haven't followed him for a long time and here he just seems completely unintelligent and not even on the same playing field as Jordan. Posted: 24 Mar 2020 08:04 AM PDT I don't know about anyone else here, but I got into sales for a reason, I love interacting with people. Now my current job is more account management than hard or cold selling, with the occasional sell in, which I love. Being stuck at home for the last week basically fire fighting, dealing with anxious customers over the phone rather than face to face, all the while worrying about my own job security has resulted in me not being ok. Am I the only one? Btw, my husband who permanently works from home and is a self confessed hermit doesn't understand why I'm so miserable. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 05:53 AM PDT Title says it all. Very curious to hear where everyone is at physically, emotionally, financially/ professionally? Im in B2B sales, Social/Web optimization and LiveChat services. Things are going well and staying steady. Opening for discussion [link] [comments] |
My thoughts on how this pandemic will affect businesses and sales. Posted: 24 Mar 2020 06:42 AM PDT 1)People's priorities have changed.-the bottom levels of Maslow's pyramid have the highest priority in people's minds: (Security, Safety AND food, water, warmth, rest) -businesses catering to those levels might see growth -After some time (and with govt. possibly giving away free money to its citizens) people will start looking for more than basic necessities (aka entertainment) while being stuck at home. 2)Some people still cling to the idea that things will go back to the "old normal"-the landscape has changed (and it will change some more) dramatically, similar to the changes after 9/11. -Some people still cling to the idea that things will go back to normal. They won't. Clinging to that idea will only do you harm. 3)People's social isolation (staying mostly at home) will last for at least 2-3 more months.-I don't think people will accept willingly to stay at home for more than 3 months. I'm in isolation for 2 weeks and already going nuts. Humans are social beings and we can't function well without that aspect for prolonged periods of time. -3 months is enough time for the pandemic to cool down all over the world. 4)A cure is going to be found soon but complications will arise.-Considering the time, money and effort poured into finding a cure there are no doubt medical solutions will appear soon. -Due to the situation being hugely complex complications will arise. Things will get better but not FAST and not SOON. 5)The restrictions due to covid19 will get even worse.-We haven't reached the peak of this crisis yet. As the gravity of the situation will increase so will the reactions of various governments. -food rationing, "virus-free" ID cards, new regulations & restrictions upon the business world. 6) Should you close shop?-There is still a market out there & people still need things. -Businesses servicing the bottom 2 levels of Maslow's pyramid can actually see growth while others should keep their heads down. 8)Is talk of business insensitive during these times? -no, business & commerce are the lifeblood of our world. 7) There are 2 main dangers for your business:a)You won't have the resources or forethought to survive during the pandemic. b)You won't adapt fast enough for the world after the pandemic. 8a)During the Pandemic-Here's a list of verticals which could see growth during the pandemic:
-if your business is in one of these verticals your marketing budgets (if you can afford them) should go up, not down - at least experimentally & for a short while. 8b)After the pandemic.-we'll be looking at something we never have seen before (our ancestors did) - the world after a pandemic -people's fear of infections will be at high levels for a long time. -Pharma & clean/sanitizing verticals will be hot for years to come. -airport security measures will go up even more. -travel & emigration will be harder to do than ever before. Travel agencies will have to adapt fast or die. DISCLAIMER: This article represents one person's opinion and people's opinions can and will be flawed at times! As bad of a person as it makes me, I can so get used to remote work! Posted: 23 Mar 2020 02:24 PM PDT Even before Coronavirus hit, things were tense at our office. Manager became overly micro-managing and the team was not liking it at all. Ever since working from home, I get a lot of stuff done in the morning that would have normally been spent on commute. Numbers and performance has actually gone way up to where I am on track to be the top performer. I hate to sound like a bad person here and I know everyone is gung ho about the office Kool Aid and "team energy" but when the team energy sucks, man working remote is a relief! [link] [comments] |
How are you guys prospecting during this Covid-19 Pandemic? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:35 AM PDT I am a BDR at a SaaS company. They are making us cold call and send emails as normal. I am not getting good responses, and it is very expected of course. How are you guys prospecting? Are you just emailing or calling as well? are you trying to set appointments or are you just focusing on sending educational materials? [link] [comments] |
Sick of how my company are reacting to COVID Posted: 24 Mar 2020 01:32 PM PDT As per title, it just feels like constant harrassment. Constant meetings, checking in all the time with aimless calls, listening to our calls, sending us reminders about our targets, putting pressure on us if we are behind target, putting pressure if not diversifying our outreach methods, I could go on. I just don't see the need and am losing respect for my organisation with every day at the moment. Despite the fact that this is sales, I can't believe that this is the way with every company, surely not? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:42 AM PDT Give this guy some love for making this TV pilot! Something funny to check out through these tough, uncertain times. [link] [comments] |
Laid off Digital Advertising Reps looking for a new role? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 09:45 AM PDT Our firm is actually weathering this Coronavirus downturn pretty decently. We'd love to make use of the fact that more consumers are home, watching Streaming TV, and on their phones and can be served digital advertising. We have are looking to bring on 3 to 4 new sales agents. This would be a 100% commission role with average sales being $40,000. Once a book of business is established we could look at bringing you on full time, salary and benefits. Let me know if you are interested and I can PM details! Just trying to do what little we can to maybe do some mutual assistance! [link] [comments] |
Does anyone sell UCaaS or CCaaS Posted: 24 Mar 2020 01:27 PM PDT Hello, I'm new to sales and landed a job doing business development for unified communications and contact centers sales. Basically we set appointments for a account executive to later close. Im trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong here currently I'm making about 100 dials a day or so trying to talk to people and make appointment sets. It seems like I can't make anyone interested enough to want to see if our communications might be beneficial to then or get them to talk about pain points that they may or may not be thinking of. Manager says it’s a great time to be out and about because other sales reps are at home Posted: 24 Mar 2020 12:14 PM PDT Yeah the title says it all. The state I live in has said, that anyone who can work remote from home has to do so or otherwise will be fined. So we have a meeting this morning with our manager. He says we will not be working from home because it will create bad habits. (Outside sales ) and that now is a good time to be in front of our customers since our competitors are at home (because there smart and not spreading the virus) also asked if we have been visiting offices and trying to push our products. Offices are closed and not accepting visitors I have called all my accounts and asked what are they doing. They all said stay away. So now I have to sit in my truck all day 10 hours a day 5 days a week and make calls. My truck is GPS monitored so I can't lie. Just looking for some outside perspectives if you guys think this is ridiculous or not. [link] [comments] |
What should I track in cold calling? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:38 AM PDT I'm about to start my sales career cold calling for a consumer energy provider. I'd like to pick a couple metrics to track my progress from day one. Ideally they would be simple and quick to mark on a notebook in between calls. Also optimally I'd have a handful of things to track, that I could extrapolate on in Excel to get more interesting derivative stats. What I've thought of so far:
Ideas? What have you tracked/what do you wish you'd tracked from the beginning? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:22 AM PDT Because a lot of reps are working remote/isolated, how are you hyping yourself up in the morning to get amped for the day/prep your mindset? Any tips are welcome! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 10:27 AM PDT Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing well out there. This coronavirus is driving everyone nuts. However, it has some upside. Majority of the country is now working remotely and I think a lot of employers are realizing the benefits of it. That said I'm looking to getting into sales/marketing. I work in accounting and I'm tried of sitting at a desk all day. I'd rather be out in the field and have a little bit more leeway with my schedule. Can anyone give me some recommendations on jobs/companies that would allow me to have a home-based office? Cutting down on a commute saves so much time Thank you! [link] [comments] |
What is the best resource for prospecting? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 09:44 AM PDT During this downtime and working from home I'm capitalizing on researching some prospects and finding contacts and email addresses etc. What are some pretty good and preferably free tools that can best help me for this purpose? How to prepare for first AE job? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 09:27 AM PDT Hey Reddit, I recently got offered my first AE position with a software/tech company. I have sales experience, but not as an SDR/BDR. I'm really looking forward to starting and want to kill it in this role. Unfortunately with the COVID-19 pandemic I'll be training and working from home for the first chunk of time. Do you guys have any advice on how to best prepare myself? Anything that might help me hit the ground running/know what to expect. Thanks guys. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Mar 2020 07:57 PM PDT Salesforce is the only one that gets it right. It seems so simple, yet virtually all of them are dogshit. Why? [link] [comments] |
Laid off due to Corona - What now? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 03:19 PM PDT So Michigan just got the order to shelter in place. I sold copiers for almost 2 years (SaaS for 3 prior) and was starting to look at med device. We had a GREAT 1st quarter, but corona hit, all of our major customers shut down and so did a bunch of the revenue. Schools were what kept the lights on. Some of the sales team is gone until things pick up. They couldn't give us a rehire date, or who could expect their jobs back. On one end I feel I should be hitting MedReps hard right now. But, another part of me thinks no one is hiring right now? Any recruiters out there that are actively hiring? Or do I head out to the girlfriends family cottage and get whiskey drunk for two weeks strait and sit at the lake? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 04:49 PM PDT Really hoping some here might have a suggestion. Context: I want to find a tool for a sales team who are perpetually swamped and have little time to do follow up after quotes have been sent. My dream idea is they send out a quote in Outlook, and then they trigger some plugin or app or thing, select a workflow/sequence whatever you want to call it, and poof: a series of emails will be sent in 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, done. IF they receive the sale, they then have some way to turn off the sequence. Ideally this would work directly in Outlook. We already have a CRM so I'm not looking for the whole CRM functionality. (No, the CRM we use doesn't have this feature, unfortunately). The smaller/more simple the program, the better. Any ideas? Am I an unrealistic dummy? [link] [comments] |
Just been made redundant- to cold call sales leaders or not? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 01:47 PM PDT Hello team, Myself alongside a chunk of my office were made redundant effective immediately today. I sulked for an hour and have brushed myself down, updated my CV and have begun the hunt. I am a newish MMKT AE, recently promoted from an SDR. I was curious, in a time where demand for any vacant jobs will be huge. Am I better off cold calling sales leaders who have vacant jobs and pitch myself or just stick to applying online? New to this- would love some help. Based in London if that makes any difference. [link] [comments] |
Anyone else’s manager become MORE of a micromanager since we transitioned to WFH? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 07:51 PM PDT Feels like because we can't connect in person to have me reassure them that my deals are legit they want to be CCd on everything, looped into every call, the list goes on and on. I hit a breaking point when they wanted to rewrite an email of mine today. I've performed in the past, I know what I'm doing, get out of my hair. [link] [comments] |
Account managers — what are you sending to customers? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 07:33 PM PDT My job involves renewing and up selling existing accounts. Outside of sharing articles/videos with best practices for covid/business, does anyone have a good email that has no sales gimmick or any specific CTA? Just a human to human message that adds value. I don't want to ask for any business but I also have a job, and want to try to help in anyway possible. [link] [comments] |
