All you need to do is initiate an ACATS transfer at your preferred receiving brokerage and your assets will transfer over in-kind, meaning that your stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc will transfer and cost basis for tax purposes will transfer over as well.

All of the major brokers such as TD, Fidelity, Schwab, E*Trade, etc support ACAT transfers.

Note: proprietary or non-transferable positions may still need to be liquidated, but all publicly traded instruments should be fine. These transfers typically take 5 business days and you should refrain from transacting on the account when you are ready to transfer. Don't have open limit orders, expiring options, recurring ACHs open otherwise RH will reject your request.

    Godspeed!!

Edit: I am not a tax advisor so nothing I say should be construed as tax advice, so I cannot tell you what you should or should not do. Please consult a tax professional if you have specific questions.

The heavy load in turn caused the company's domain name system to fail, rendering its users unable to access the site.

The co-CEOs said the company was working to improve the resilience of its infrastructure, but warned that "as our engineering team works to upgrade our infrastructure, we may experience additional brief outages, but we're now better positioned to more quickly resolve them."

A spokesperson said that the company is reaching out to customers with information on how to contact Robinhood so they can work with them on a case by case basis to handle compensation for the outages. This may include billing credits.

    Picking Stocks

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 03:33 PM PST

Hey guys, i'll keep this short.

What is the best advice you received, or have, for newcomers about picking stocks?

I know there are plenty of different methods and it can vary upon the sector or whatnot.

But for me I use technical analysis of the chart. I take a look at the Accounts Payable as well as Assets/ Liabilities on the Balance Sheet. I look at Net Income/ Revenue/ Operating Income

As well as Cash Flow; Operating/ Investing/ Financing.

Finally I incorporate some fundamental analysis by flicking through the news or checking out economic calendars etc...

Treasuries Head Lower - Market Drop Further?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 09:12 AM PST

With the US 10-year treasury hitting a 150 year low, it appears people are piling into them and getting defensive.

As I write this the market is up about 500pts and yields are down, which could point to further sell off and continued volatility in the market.

10-year Treasury yield dips below 1% again as investors still look for safety amid coronavirus fears https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/04/10-year-treasury-yield-below-1percent-as-investors-monitor-coronavirus-super-tuesday.html?__source=iosappshare%7Ccom.apple.UIKit.activity.CopyToPasteboard

    Historic 1-minute data anywhere?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 01:22 PM PST

    Two part question.

Does anyone know of a website that shows stock charts of 1 minute price movements back several months or longer that I can scroll back in and check price movement?

Also, have anyone else other than me wish there was a feature like this or am I the only one?

What is a good 30 year treasury bond ETF?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 08:50 AM PST

What is an example of a 30 year treasury bond etf? Someone said they invested in one of those ETFs but when I google it I get hundreds of ETFs each of which has really different returns YTD. I thought it would be like a S&P index and there would be a bunch of them that were the same.

    Are my friends claims true?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 12:13 PM PST

Sorry if this isn't strictly about the stock market. One of my friends claims to have turned £2.5k into £33k today, and just today, by simply investing in the S&P 500. Naturally I'm highly skeptical but I haven't a clue about trading.

But from my own research I see it is currently up 93 points to 3,096. Is the 92 figure a percentage increase in its value and are my friends claims truthful? Any help would be appreciated!

With worse news cycle for Coronavirus and ineptness of CDC, why is DAL outperforming market this whole week?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 11:36 AM PST

With Amazon employees testing positive in Seattle, new cases in NY and inept CDC, that is still refusing testing to patients with narrow risk definitions, why is DAL outperforming market this week? All other airline stocks are under-performing or sync with market. Also note that DAL is a preferred employee travel partner for Amazon with Delta's Seattle hub. I don't get it.

Edit: I know Buffet bought a bunch of stake, but currently Delta looks the one that is most affected by the news cycle than American/United/southwest that are trading at a much more attractive valuations while under-performing the market.

How do you LISTEN to the stock market during the day?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 11:22 AM PST

I work a 9-5ish desk job and love to keep up with the markets. I typically listen to a few podcasts but they are recorded before the bell or after close (not allowing me to stay in the know). Do you all have any radio stations or other media you listen to during work? Thanks to all!

With potential quarantine efforts, schools closing and prayers cancelled are the ecommerce/entertainment sectors the best bets?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 10:01 AM PST

With schools closing for 4 weeks in Dubai (keeping parents at home/increasing demand for childcare) Iran cancelling prayers, and people being instructed to stay at home I was thinking of companies with minimal exposure to the virus that would be needed more over the coming months.

Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Prime etc - I imagine subscriptions increasing leading to increased earnings and better than expected earning reports over the next quarter.

Amazon, Shopify, JD, etc - These and popular delivery services like uber eats as some parents are working from home and some unable to visit grocery stores I imagine an increase in online shopping and deliveries.

Are there any ETF's of these you could recommend?
