Stupid Question about Yahoo Finance Regarding Split Notation

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 12:22 AM PST

On Yahoo Finance's chats where splits are indicated, does the number on the left hand side of the "/" indicate the number of shares one share is being turned into or the number of shares that are traded in for a single share?

    In otherwords

10/1 - 10 shares turn into 1 share (reverse split)

    or

    10/1 - 1 share turns into 10 shares

    ?
