American has pulled the planes from its schedules until Jan. 16, 2020, later than any U.S. airline.

The planes have been grounded since mid-March after two fatal crashes killed 346 people.

American expects to cancel 140 flights a day because of the prolonged grounding.

Google is working on 5G version of smartphone: report

    https://www.marketwatch.com/story/google-is-working-on-5g-version-of-smartphone-report-2019-10-09

Alphabet Inc. is working on a 5G version of its Pixel 4 smartphone, but don't expect a sneak peek next week.

Regardless, Google will undoubtedly be the latest smartphone maker to join the 5G fray, probably in 2020, leaving Apple Inc. AAPL+1.17% as the last major vendor to announce its plans. Many expect Apple to unveil 5G-enabled iPhones in September 2020.

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. KR:005930+2.41% and Huawei Technologies -- the Nos. 1 and 2 smartphone makers in the world -- have already released 5G phones.

If, and when, Apple gets into the 5G market, it is likely to create a big splash.

Top Hong Kong Dividend Stocks to Consider

Real life events affect the market, so why is it possible to make predictions of where the price of a stock is going depending on chart patterns?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 12:12 PM PDT

We all know real life events have consequences for the stock market. We also know there are several indicators and tricks such as resistance/support levels that make it easier for us to predict where the price of a stock is going,

Is it simply because so many traders are looking at the market and sort of in a "hive-mind" make trades that are predictable from a psychological standpoint? That's the only explanation I could come up with.

This guy keeps buying into FedEx and all it does is go down! I like to see what others are buying but FedEx is garbage in my opinion. I know every year we hear that the market is going to crash very hard, but I think that by the end of 2020 we will see a huge crash. Just look at the Inverted T yield

Thoughts on AMD and SONY ?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 02:35 PM PDT

I'm quite new to investing and I've only put some money in companies I know, and it's only disposable money, so no worries !

Sony will be releasing a new playstation, and amd is probably the one making the chips. Was it a good idea to put some money in both ? Or it dont work like that ?

    Thanks !

Also: I'm using revolut. Not sure what people think about it but it seems fine.

Does central-bank stimulus mean ‘the end of stock market corrections’?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 10:04 AM PDT

Torsten Slok, chief economist at Deutsche Bank Securities, said he finds this state of affairs curious, given that low bond yields appear to indicate investor unease about the state of the global economy at the same time that survey data from the Institute for Supply Management reflect weakening manufacturing and services sectors.

"Normally the business cycle is the key driver of asset prices. ... But not at the moment," Slok wrote in a Tuesday note to clients. "How can the S&P 500 be so high and credit spreads so tight when rates markets are so worried about the growth outlook and therefore the corporate earnings outlook?"

"Perhaps the answer is that equity and credit markets are no longer driven by fundamentals, but instead by [the Federal Reserve] and [European Central Bank's] promises of lower rates, more dovish forward guidance" and open-ended bond purchases known as quantitative easing (QE), he posited.
