Posted: 31 Jul 2019 08:09 AM PDT Surprised stock isn't down. It went down when Tyson announced a crappy / stupid grocery offering of half beef / half pea patty. But Impossible is the real competition and while I haven't tried it, consensus online is that Impossible is a better product than BYND. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/07/31/beyond-meats-competitor-impossible-foods-gets-fda-approval.html [link] [comments] |
AAPL: No longer a 1 trick Pony Posted: 31 Jul 2019 05:28 AM PDT 3rd QTR earnings results: iPhone is less then 50% of Apple's revenue. Services is about 20% of revenue and growing fast. Wearables is 10% of revenue and growing even faster. iPad and Mac are also growing. Amazing job by Tim Cook. Apple is no longer a 1 trick Pony and ready to continue to grow for many years. Because of this AAPL's multiple must go up. When revenue was 70% iPhone the risk of concentrated revenue streams was high. Thus Apple got docked for that. Not anymore. AAPL is a diversified company and deserves a higher PE. New 12-month target price: $275 [link] [comments] |
Why did Dow drop when interest rates were cut? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 12:11 PM PDT Isn't that supposed to be a big booster for Wall Street? [link] [comments] |
What do you think is the most overvalued and most undervalued stock right now? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 09:26 AM PDT |
Apple Services could surpass iPhone in Gross Profit in less then a year. Posted: 31 Jul 2019 06:23 AM PDT Sounds insane. But it will likely happen very soon. Maybe by June 2020. Look at the 3rd QTR numbers: Services was 36% of Apple's total Gross Profit. Services has a 64% Gross Profit Margin. Services is growing about 12-15% YoY each quarter. Now in addition to this Apple is adding some potentially massive new services. A new TV streaming service and Gaming services. If Apple grows services about 12-15% the next 4 quarters it will reach 40-42% of total Gross profit. At 40-42% Gross Profit of the entire company, Services will overtake iPhone as the most profitable product. Incredible. If growth over the following year is 8-10% (2020-2021) then Services would be close to 50% of the entire companies Gross Profit. [link] [comments] |
ETF that consists of only the top performer(s) in each industry/segment Posted: 31 Jul 2019 12:56 PM PDT So are there any ETFs that consist of only the top performers or industry leaders in each industry/segment (could be multiple companies in each industry)? Example being V, MC, JPM for financials; AMZN, WMT for staple goods; FB, GOOG, MSFT for tech, etc.? Would be really cool to hop on that. If there isn't one, what do you think would be the best way to go around and create a portfolio that looks like the described ETF? I was thinking that using the map in the link here might be the best way to do it. Obviously, there needs to be research done on some of the picks like GE. [link] [comments] |
Question: why is the Stock Twou 2u down? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 07:53 AM PDT I saw it exceeded expectations just a little confusing. Should I buy it low? [link] [comments] |
What books should begginers read Posted: 31 Jul 2019 12:42 PM PDT What book should begginers like me read . Thanks [link] [comments] |
With AAPL, MSFT, & GOOG all posting great results how long this "bubble" last? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 10:09 AM PDT I say "bubble" because there's a lot of conflicting opinions on whether or not we're in one. I personally think we are in a bubble because of the volatility and the insanity of bullishness this year. Most companies are trading on sales rather than the traditional PE ratio which isn't sustainable. That being said, with AAPL, MSFT, and GOOG posting positive results the momentum of the market will definitely carryover and continue to be bullish for the short term. So I just wanted to make this post to remind everyone to be cautious, remember how quick the market dropped last year and how we felt back in December. Although I don't like advocating for timing the market, we are in the absolute peak of the economic cycle right now and it is a great time to take your profits. I really enjoy browsing this sub. Good luck everyone! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2019 11:13 AM PDT Chinese coffee upstart on target to overtake Starbucks as the largest coffee chain in China. However, these points make me excited/nervous about purchasing their shares.

Posted: 31 Jul 2019 11:12 AM PDT I used to be able to look at daily top gainers historically on WSJ. They updated their site and removed the option to see a day in the past. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? [link] [comments] |
Best way for knowing if a business is undervalued? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 02:51 PM PDT Hi people, what's the best way of knowing if a business is under valued for a beginner, looking at other articles seems a bit over whelming, can anyone point me in the right direction of learning? Thanks [link] [comments] |
IGNITE - Great Marketing, But a Worthwhile Investment? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 05:44 AM PDT I've noticed the pot company Ignite has recently opened up on the stock market. I'm a noob at this type of thing but have been lucky in the past... does this company have potential and should I consider purchasing stocks!? Thanks [link] [comments] |
$TOKE another cannabis ETF enters the market Posted: 31 Jul 2019 10:14 AM PDT $MJ, $YOLO, $THCX, $CNBS and now $TOKE Likely more still to come. Anyone know a compelling reason on ETF is better than the others? I see the upside coming from further state legalization and ultimately federal legalization in US. International legalization and growth in CBD therapeutics. I see downside in lack of research (looking at you CBD) and a lot of low/no revenue companies and usual risk in an emerging market. Posted: 31 Jul 2019 01:20 PM PDT I noticed that today a lot of bigger stocks (FB AMZN BRK FORD SPY MSFT) all took a hit at 2:35 in the afternoon? What's the deal with this or is there a reason? That's pretty interesting to me as a noob to this. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2019 01:09 PM PDT Hi recently I've been getting into the VIX and my understanding is that its basically a fear gauge that's typically tracked in ETFs through future contracts. I just wanted anyone with a better understanding to maybe breakdown the mechanics for me as in how the vix gains/loses depending on market activity, etc and how I can play the vix depending on my predictions. Meaning of no shadow on all candles? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 03:46 AM PDT I've been attempting to find an answer to this for a few days now. When I check certain stocks, usually with lower priced shares, almost all candles have no shadow. I understand what shadows/wicks are for, however this is different - It's just flat bars in the place of almost all candles with a few wickless candles scattered in between. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? I'm relatively new to the trading game so excuse my poor lingo. I'm using TradingView atm. These are the Flat Candles I'm seeing. [link] [comments] |
What's a good alternative to TSLA? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 12:09 PM PDT I'm doing my M1 pie and I have WKHS (seems like a good contender) and TSLA, but I got to Googling "Telsa stock alternatives" and didn't find much other than Ford or GM. However, I'm looking for the start-ups, upstarts, and small subsidiary companies people like Ford and GM are eyeballing to buy later. Options? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2019 11:22 AM PDT Leafbuyer lost up to 60% at one point today on the news of adding a blockchain wallet to their app that's been in development for months. Im looking for any insight, as it's seems previously companies announcing blockchain has always caused positive spikes imo. [link] [comments] |
Am I missing something with AMCX?! Posted: 31 Jul 2019 07:01 AM PDT Earnings were this morning and they beat eps by 30%. Reaffirmed that they are on track to meet financial goals for the year. The only thing is that they slightly missed revenue 772(actual) vs 783(expected). Is the market over reacting with a 6% sell off?! [link] [comments] |
Trying to get a clear picture of this company (ORC). Posted: 31 Jul 2019 09:43 AM PDT So I have been following this company for sometime now and I cant seem to understand their motives/goal. It seems as though they are poorly managed but able to stay afloat? How can this be a company that people/businesses purchase like JP morgen? Feels like a legal Ponzi scheme. [link] [comments] |
Question to all investors here: do you tend to panic when you see your stock price has fallen down? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 08:10 AM PDT For example as we know Tesla stock fell down quite a bit. Do you tend to sell your stocks then or wait for it's price to recover? I know you should buy low sell high but what about when you've a stock already bought which price goes down a lot? Is it possible for the market to simply not crash? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 08:09 AM PDT Seems like for the last 3 years, folks have been predicting a crash coming, but especially for 2019. Now everyone's saying it's postponed to 2020. I'm convinced seeing how many stocks seem to be reaching near an ath, maybe this is an exception, where it simply won't crash and just ride it up, or that maybe it will crash, but by the time it does, stocks will have moved up to the point the crash is marginal compared to what it is today. Asking mainly because I'm trying to make moves to buy in the market, of course knowing myself and luck, I know faith is trying to pressure me to buy, that's when it'll probably crash. It won't crash until I buy. [link] [comments] |
