How does the exercising of options affect volume and sale price?

    Posted: 28 Feb 2019 05:23 AM PST

For example, deeper in the money options. Let's say some one takes a huge bet and ponies up for deep ITM calls, and wins big. Let's say the call is $10 and the stock price is > $13-15-20, or a wide percentage different. When the owner of the calls exercises at $10 does that get counted in the volume and price charts? And if you suddenly have 1000s of shares being exchanged at a steep discount, shouldn't that be a drag to the market? Obviously this doesn't happen this way but I'm just curious as to why not?
