Has anyone successfully applied for the free GCE startup credits? Posted: 02 Jan 2019 01:33 PM PST Yesterday I applied for the $3000 in gce credits for startups. According to their criteria I should be eligible. All I did was fill out a form with my my start up name, address, and email. Today I got an email saying I'm not eligible. Is there some trick I'm missing? I am writing this because this part because this subreddit has a minimum post length of 500 characters . I don't think I really need to write more because I succinctly expressed my question in the above paragraph and it's already of value to the subreddit. I'm not trying to complain. I just want to fill up space and this is the easiest way to do so. Space. Space. Space. That's a weird word right? Okay I think I have enough characters now. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jan 2019 04:06 AM PST Our SaaS basically integrates with the existing platforms/processes of companies in the industry, allowing them to multiply their throughput by a big factor as processes can now be automated; basically modernizing the old systems of these dinosaur companies. While there really isn't anything groundbreaking to what we do in the global scene, we operate in a developing country so what we do is pretty unique and needed here, and thus have a first mover advantage. Though proper execution and constant innovation is the best way to maintain this lead, I'd prefer not to disclose much about our secret sauce, and for these companies to view our product simply as a SaaS, where the implementation details are basically hidden in a blackbox/cloud. And to be clear, I'm well aware that if something can be easily copied, it will be copied; and that proper execution and innovation is the only way to stay ahead. There are parts of our playbook, together with our brand, network, and many more. I just want maintain our lead in the market in all ways we can, including letting competitors figure out on their own how we do it if they want to copy us instead of partnering with us. Perhaps I may have watched too many episodes of Silicon Valley and Steve Jobs/Xerox documentaries, but giving them the blueprint/floorplan to our system is like handing them the keys to undercutting us in the future (or even now). How should one deal with their request? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Jan 2019 01:37 AM PST Hey there, I'm going to start an online clothing business. But I'm struggling with one thing. Should I make my shirt €30 with €10 shipping or €40 with "free" shipping. I think people would rather buy the €40 shirt with free shipping. Would would you guys choose, free shipping sounds more appealing right? Thanks in advance! Seeking advice from any entrepreneur Posted: 02 Jan 2019 02:32 AM PST (20M) graduating from university this year. I see myself as an average student but on track for a 2:1. I have no great in for anything apart from business and working for myself. I've got a student service app that is being developed by a team 3 right now including me. I've hired a CTO that really likes my idea and jumped on board. Anyway I've applied for a bunch of internships and placement I don't really care for just to develop my CV, have an income after uni and juggle the business. Or should I focus on the business 24/7 straight after uni (even now) and really push hard in 2019 especially since it's my idea. I'm kind of stuck on what to do right now, so anyone who's been in this position or very similar, what did you do, why did you do it and what was the outcome of your decision. Might be a life changing advice for me. Also, I have acquired pre launch users from students in different schools that i call 'reps', they help to promote the app to students around the school.
