Calculating Free Cash flow from the cash flow statement

    Posted: 08 Oct 2018 03:01 AM PDT

In the Cash Flow statement of a company, let's say

    • Net Cash Flow from Operations = 2000

    • Net Cash Flow from Investing = <1300>

    • Net Cash flow from Financing = <1000>

    Break up Investing

    • Purchase of PPE = <1600>
    • Sale of PPE = 200
    • Interest Received = 50
    • Dividend Received = 50

    1) Now is Free Cash Flow = 2000 - 1300 = 1700

    or is it

    2) Free Cash Flow = 2000 - 1600 = 400

    or is it

    3) Free Cash Flow = 2000 - 1600 + 200 = 600

I am pretty sure, the first is wrong. But is the correct way 2 or 3? Or is there anything else i am missing?
