I'm considering studying economics, any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly helpful Posted: 03 Oct 2018 08:50 PM PDT Lately I've been reading a lot about economics and it really fascinates me. There's a book called "The Undercover Economist" which is sort of like an introduction to economics. For example if you buy a cup of coffee you just see it as a cup of coffee right? An economist would see a whole journey in this little cup of coffee. Some of the people who worked to get that coffee in front of you made a lot of money, some of them made very little and some of them are after the money in your pocket. An economist can tell you who will get what, how and why. I'm 17 and I'm in 10th grade. Plus I live in Germany so in order to go to university I have to go all the way through 13th grade to be granted access to university. So I have a long way to go. I also want to study it in English language not in German because it's soo much more exciting in English. We do have a class called "politics and economics" in German " Politik und Wirtschaft (PoWi)" and I really enjoy it. So I have 4 years to think about it, but I'm not sure if it might wear off. But I do think I wanna do something in that field. Is there anything I should know before really considering it? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Oct 2018 08:49 PM PDT Let's say the traditional track for someone wanting to start their own private equity fund would be to start as an analyst and work at someone else's fund to gain the necessary knowledge and experience. Well, would it be possible instead, to bypass this traditional track and start your own fund with zero knowledge, by hiring employees, and rely heavily on their expertise? [link] [comments] |
Opening retail store, questions? Posted: 03 Oct 2018 08:32 PM PDT What critical questions do you need to ask a retailer before franchising their store. What extra protocols should one take before franchising a store. How much should a franchise fee be and what should it be based off of, the current franchise we're talking about has about 6 stores. For example,my dad and I are thinking of opening a franchise of a certain good/product that is fairly new but expected to go from 2b to 20b in the next year. Thank you for any information. I am very new to this. Any articles or good reads would be helpful too. Thanks again. [link] [comments] |

Urgent LLC/Labor Posters question Posted: 03 Oct 2018 03:12 PM PDT Hey guys, I was recently approved for my LLC so I've been having other documents sent to me for filing but I received a notice today from Labor Poster Services saying I must pay the fee for the labor posters or I could be fined. The thing is, I have zero employees working for me (so why do I need the posters for minimum wage, employee rights, etc), I do not have a set brick and mortar location, and my business operation is ran out of my home. For the business, I am just starting a clothing line (if that is important to know) Any advice on how I should handle this would be appreciated. Thanks. If this post doesn't belong here I'm sorry. I'm just panicking because I was unaware of this. [link] [comments] |
