Hi guys, talk to me about privatizing pensions

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 06:35 PM PDT

Hi, so, all political affiliations aside, I ask for a friend if there is a way to privatize government subsidized pensions in the same way tollways and mass transit have been but make a profit rather than create a crippling, debilitating, statewide deficit- remember asking for a friend. This seems like really the best way, but I cannot think up a way to make a business out of paying pensions without paying taxpayer dollars other than deferring and charging interest... if any of youre beautiful redditor minds can come up with a whiz bang way to create a business out of paying state pensions and somehow generate revenue [and profit even, which I cant think of something that doesnt involve charging interest or investing lump sums] please let me know here. Its been kind of a controversial issue where Im from to say the least and it has actually affected me personally as a college student- something I never thought would happen but the experience has opened my eyes. Nevertheless, do let me know! I could be chasing my tail here, and that will probably end up being the case if were honest but hopefully theres a better option!

Can anyone suggest a good article about a business's strategy for a college essay?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 11:11 AM PDT

I'm having trouble finding an essay that deals with a business's strategy, if any of you know a business or an article to recommend it would help me out a lot. The essay is basically me looking and talking about all the different kinds of strategy a business is using right now, so it has to be modern. The crazier the better because it gives me much more room for discussion.

Expat Canadian living in the US. Looking for advice/opinions on opening a small business in Canada while living abroad.

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 03:46 AM PDT

    Hey people,

So I'm a resident in the US, but a Canadian Citizen who does not yet have my US Green card or anything. Do any Canadians have experience in registering a small business back home while living abroad? What are the tax implications like? I'm looking to start small (under $3000 annual income, I would expect) and pending success/time grow the business.

Has anyone done this? There are multiple options for online businesses, my goal is to explore those, but I'm not sure if it makes sense to do this in Canada. I'm hoping to capitalize on business expense write-offs for annual meetings with my business partner in Canada, but am I opening myself up to pay more in tax than would make it worthwhile? Any constructive thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible to start a business with little to no money and if so, how to go about it?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 09:43 AM PDT

I'm going to show you how to start a business without money and you better believe it.

Sure, to start a business without money is much harder than if you have sufficient funds in place but hey, if you can eventually have a business of your dreams without putting up a ton of money of your own upfront, why not, right?

This blog post came about as a result of a question 'how to start a business without money' which I'm often being asked by aspiring entrepreneurs via How to Start a Business and Succeed (my blog).

The very first time someone asked me this question, I though, seriously?! That's what you want to know? Clearly you need some money to start a business…I mean, you can't just set up a business like that without money…who does that?!

But then I thought about it long and hard and eventually realized that yes, YOU CAN START A BUSINESS WITHOUT MONEY and it's not all that difficult.

Before we get to it however, let's park money aside and quickly look at what's essential for any one business to come into being in the first place and exist or thrive thereafter.

While money is certainly very important and necessary, it's not the only thing needed to start a business. In fact, money is of no use if you don't have the winning idea, target audience with otherwise unmet needs, wants and desires which you can fulfill better than anyone else and of course the know-how or the adequate skill set.

Peter F. Drucker aka 'the management guru' or 'the father of modern business' stated that a "business is an organ of society" and that the "purpose of business is outside itself". These two statements are so very profound and if you're able to truly understand them, your perception of business will change forever.

The purpose of business must never be and can never be to make money, that's a mere responsibility of any business. Every responsible business must make profit to stay in business, pay for itself and its growth.

The purpose of business therefore has got to be "outside itself" or in other words, to fulfill otherwise unmet needs of its target audience, who traditionally happen to reside in the same society as the business serving them.

Today however, that's not necessarily relevant any more due to technological and communication advancements…nonetheless, the principle of detecting otherwise, unmet needs, wants and desires and fulfilling them, remains the same.

So, in essence, for a business to come into being it has got to have clearly defined why, who, what, how, where and when. Let's briefly look at each one… https://www.parttimerz.com/blog/2018/01/23/how-to-start-a-business-without-money
