Pulled over last night, wondering if I got a ticket or not; 17 year old

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 05:31 AM PDT

I got pulled over last night. The cop said I was going 60 in a 50. I was about 30 ft away from the 60 mph sign. The cop took my license back to his car for about 2 minutes, came back and gave it back me and said to watch my speed and have a good night.

This is my first time ever getting pulled over, I'm 17 years old. I'm not really sure how things work when you get pulled over, but did I get a ticket?

Wow did not expect to get this much feedback, thank you all

Denied boarding, airline refuses to find new flight

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 06:50 AM PDT

I'm writing this for my mother, who is still stranded at the airport in Florence. She was denied boarding due to windy conditions and a short runway. They randomly denied boarding to passengers, I'm assuming because they wanted the plane to be lighter? This happened in early afternoon on September 29th.

It is now 4 pm on September 30th and the airline is still refusing to find her another flight. The original booking was with Iberia, but the flight itself was British Airways. Iberia is saying because it was a BA flight that BA is responsible while BA is saying because the original booking is with Iberia that Iberia is responsible.

She is trying to fly to Raleigh, NC so tickets are upwards of $2,000. She has no idea what to do or where to turn. We are aware of EC 261, but to which airline does it apply? They keep pointing the finger at each other and refuse to get her home in the meantime.

Who is responsible and what can she do?

My landlord let me know after an argument he has a gun on him (NYC)

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 04:21 AM PDT

I've had some issues with my landlord in the past, nothing about rent or money(always paid on time luckily), but he tends to be very aggressive and yells quite a bit.

Last week for the third time in a few weeks he approached me yelling and bickering as I was standing out front talking to my neighbors. I went to go inside when I saw him but he yells "son of a bitch is leaving because of me, take your damn dog inside", I was actually just getting more bags so I could walk the dog further. I handed the leash to my friend and had been walking inside when this happened.

I got pissed, I admit it. So I said "listen mother fucker, at no time am I afraid of you. "

He lunged at me with his laundry cart and starts ramming it at me screaming "don't you ever disrespect my mother" I mean he was wide eyed his lips got foamy he was spitting all In a few seconds. "Take it back right now or I swear! Take it back take it back take it back"

I have to say that actually made me laugh so I simply said "ok I take it back"

He goes right back to super calm and says "ok" and smiles.

The neighbors were holding him back when he was lunging with his cart.

I said to my neighbors to let him go and to let us handle it like two Men. I went inside with him and as the door closed I said "listen if that word offended you I apologize, but you have to stop harassing me and yelling at me in public like this" He says quietly " you are the most horrible tenant in the world" then he unlocked the basement and went downstairs.

I went back outside to give some space, but apparently he went inside and stood in front of my door yelling loudly about me calling me names and saying I was a horrible person.

My wife came out and asked him to stop and he got very loud and angry and began yelling into her face.

I had thought part of the problem was defused, and had not followed him inside of the building. So my first glimpse this was happening was when I heard him yelling at my wife and standing over her in the doorway where she could not back up. I got between them and said please stop and just stayed between them.

He began just screaming in the street different random things that he had a problem with. Some completely unrelated to me. His bills and taxes and his kids.

My wife begins to yell back that she was tired of his intimidation and yelling and that he was a slum lord.

So he walked away and I went and tried to calm everything down.

The next day as I was leaving the house I walked out the door and saw him standing there so immediately stepped back inside to avoid conflict.

He asked me in a low tone for f he could speak with me quietly.

Then he said the following things in order.

He apologized for reacting like mother fucker. He said the way he learned English he thought I was saying he fucked his own mother. He said his adult kids told him he over reacted.

He also said he apologized for blaming me for all the dog poop in the neigbor hood. (He had just found out I have a camera on my porch aimed at the area where the poop always happens. )

He said he was having a stressful time and was having trouble paying his bills.

He said he was sorry for yelling at me in front of people he didn't know(I was walking with a neighbor who had a job opening she was discussing with me when he started yelling about piss on a fire hydrant outside.)

He said he didn't like that my wife disrespected him by yelling at him.

I stopped him there, and said "listen. She got mad because you have a history of harassing me. You constantly yell my name through the walls when your in the building, and blame me for every thing you seem to have an issue with in Life."

I let him know that she gets nervous when he does this because I am a military veteran and in NYC there seems to be this weird prejudice against veterans. And that I never want to get into a situation where I or anyone else gets hurt or arrested. I said "I don't ever want to be hurt by someone in a fight or to have some cop think I'm a crazy veteran and pull a gun on me.

He then said "I have a conceal carry (and patted the small of his back to indicate he had a gun on him) I'm always carrying and don't want to have to shoot or kill you or anyone else" I said right then "I definitely don't want you to shoot me.

Then he let me know that the whole reason he had come over in the first place was to talk to me about a small rent increase.

I'll be honest, I told him I would think about it overnight and I would need to see the changed contract in writing.

But honestly I just wanted to get away from him at that moment. He has gotten into many angry fights with different people and has started so many violent verbal confrontations and he did this with a gun on him?

He's been coming into my home with a fucking gun!

I've been up all night. I literally put a can on top of my door so if anyone opens it I will know immediately. And am now sitting on the couch with a cricket bat in case he comes in.

For all of you who say just move. I would if I had the money. I just got two new jobs this week and have been struggling for a few years financially. I am now trying to see if we could just put our stuff in storage and stay with local family but it is NYC and no one in my family has that big of an apartment.

I don't know what to do next. I feel threatened in my own home and am having a physical and mental reaction to the whole thing. My seizures are thru the roof and my heart rate is insane.

Is it appropriate to get an attorney solely to handle communication with us until I move out?

    Thanks again guys.

TL:DR after an argument my landlord let me know he was carrying a gun and didn't want to shoot me.

Crazy Cat Lady in the Neighborhood

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 10:43 AM PDT

My sister lives in a quiet neighborhood in Charlotte, NC. There is an older woman down the street from her that we suspect is an animal hoarder. We know for sure that she feeds all of the stray cats in the neighborhood which has created a huge stray problem. You can look at my post history and see that my sister does what she can to control the stray population. In the 4-5 years she has lived there, she has probably taken in about 20 stray kittens, paid for their vet bills and found them good homes for free. She even had a rabies scare once.

About two weeks ago, my sister was walking her dog past the old woman's house when one of the strays the woman "takes care of" was out in the street while the woman watched from the porch. When my sister questioned her, the woman said the kitten was blind, but she was taking care of her. My sister asked to take the kitten so she could get her to a vet and find her a good home. The woman cried, but ultimately agreed. The kitten in question is a very beautiful Siamese. After some TLC, we find out she's not completely blind, but definitely has some sight issues. Her appointment at the vet is tomorrow.

About an hour ago, the woman comes to my sister's yard and starts YELLING at her and calling her horrible things (a snake, a heffer from the pits of hell, etc) and saying that someone told her my sister was trying to steal her cats. (Lets be clear: earlier she said they weren't her cats, she just takes care of the strays by feeding them). The woman said was going to report my sister for "stealing cats and trying to sell them which is illegal"(???).

My sister stood her ground and calmly reminded her that she said she could take the kitten and get it help and find it a good home. She also reminded her that she never went into the woman's yard because the kitten was in the street.

At this point, we are wondering what the right course of action is. Everyone in the neighborhood knows about this stray problem and that the woman is the source and a real bitch about it. Is there anything that can be done? Should my sister file a report with the police? If anything the woman did come onto my sister's property to harass her and refused to leave until she was asked a few times. For now, my sister is keeping her animals inside in case of retaliation.

Sorry if this was really ramble-y or if it doesn't make any sense. Thank you for any advice.

I'll leave you with one more picture of my sister's dog Ollie, the Siamese stray Mimi, and another foster kitten Ollie found in the backyard, Molly.

UPDATE: Sister filed a report with the police. They said they can't do much because the woman didn't threaten bodily harm, but she was able to report a "feline nuisance." Sister also had Animal Control come and do a report in case the woman tries anything. They said since there is no proof, Cat Lady wouldn't be able to do much anyway. They gave Sister information for someone at the local Humane Society that can help Cat Lady and the cats which is all my sister cares about.

[CA] Newly-immigrant Chinese neighbor sends cease and desist letter for us

    Posted: 29 Sep 2018 02:41 PM PDT

This is ridiculous and I would like to double check with you guys.

I'm Taiwanese. My new neighbor is Chinese, just came from China and doesn't speak much English. After saying that I was from Taiwan, his attitude switched 180 and became nasty towards me.

I have cute Taiwanese stickers (like a bear, the flag, etc) on my car and a few small Taiwanese flags stabbed in the ground in my garden and backyard.

Today I got a cease and desist letter saying I have to remove all my affiliation with Taiwan or else he'll serve me with legal action. Presumably by a lawyer because it's in English.

I have a security footage of him walking into our garden, taking out the little flags and surveying them. He put them back but this really freaks me out.

Edit: does not violate 1st amendment. But supporting Taiwan should be protected speech/belief right?

[NYC] Sent a parking ticket by mail for a car I’ve never owned, was not in NY on the day ticket issued.

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 09:30 AM PDT

    Greetings,

Just thought I'd inquire here just to see if there's any insight you folks might have. The scenario is as follows.

Last month the city of New York sent me a mailed parking violation notice to my home in another state. This immediately struck me as odd since I haven't been in NY in over a decade. The notice claims that a vehicle with a Florida license plate overran a meter in Queens in July so to garner more information I queried the violation using the NYC Department of Finance online tool. The violation turned out to be issue to a grey Honda sedan; I've never owned a grey Honda sedan.

I wrote a letter explaining all of this and returned it well before the deadline listed on the violation. I requested in the letter that anything I can do to help them clear this up would be fine and welcomed them to inquire further for any information.

Yesterday, I received another letter from NYC saying they determined me to be guilty of the parking violation anyway.

I'm beyond angry. I'm preparing to file another appeal, including an affidavit from my father who I know interacted with me in person on the day in question about a thousand miles from the location in question.

I'm just wondering if any of you folks have any experience with similar situations. Part of me wants to say "screw it" and tear it up and not even bother. However, if there is some issue I'd prefer to clear it up in order to avoid getting any further erroneous tickets attributed to me.

Thanks for any advice you may have.

I would like to visit my boyfriend in the US on a tourist visa but I’m an independent contractor and one of my client is from the US

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 03:14 AM PDT

Hello reddit! I'm in a very tricky situation. I studied in the US and got an undergrad and an MBA and did an internship on an OPT visa. Now the company was too small to actually sponsor an h1b visa for me so I went home and work for them remotely.

To have it all legal I got an independent status home and pay taxes home. I also now have clients all over the world because I do marketing consulting. But the US company is still my biggest money entry so I want to keep them as clients.

That's where it gets tricky. I have a serious boyfriend in the US right now and want to visit him for 1 month/1 month and a half.

How can I do this legally without losing my US client? I don't want to mess this up because if I'm barred from visiting the country I will never be able to meet my boyfriend again. Marriage is not an option at the moment.

Ideally I'd love to live legally in the US but I look into a lot of option and it seems getting a PhD would be the only current option for now. Thank you for reading!

TLDR; traveling in the us while working free lance one of my client being from the US.

[Texas] Is it legal to force me to find an employee to cover my shift at a job, if I'm unable to make it into work?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 05:56 AM PDT

Recently I became very ill which required me to take two days off of work. I attempted to call in for my shift and inform them I wasn't able to make it, however, my boss promptly told me I needed to find a replacement. So I spent the next hour reaching out to all the employees I could whose phone numbers I had. After I couldn't find anyone, my boss backed down and let me take the two days off.

After this situation I became curious how legal of a practice this is? I work on the clock, so in essence me spending an hour + outside of work at home not getting paid doing the job of what I presume my managers should be doing seems sketchy at best.

If anyone can share any information on this, I'd appreciate it.

Mentally unstable father giving away money to his church to punish my mom. Is there anything I can do?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 06:31 AM PDT

My dad is in his 80s and has suffered from paranoid personality disorder his whole life. Now that he's older it has gotten so much worse. His illness centers mostly around my mom. My dad is convinced my mom is sleeping with countless men. He has even accused her of sleeping with her own brother! It's horrible and he will not get help. My mom has been emotionally abused for so long that she isn't thinking straight. She won't leave. She can't even call me because he monitors everything. It is beyond stressful. Yesterday I found out that he declared that he "is going to fix her" and called Vanguard and is writing a large check to his church. My mom knows next to nothing about their finances as he keeps all of that from her. I am worried if he dies she won't have any money to live on. I know most of you will say she needs to go to a lawyer, but she won't. She is far too frightened of setting him off. So that leaves it up to me. What should I do? They live in Pennsylvania. Should I contact a lawyer in that state? Is there a chance we could get the money back since he isn't thinking clearly? Don't know what to do. Any advice is appreciated.

[Texas] neighbor's tree has fallen into my yard... Who is responsible for paying to remove?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 09:18 AM PDT

This is tree law, but so far there's no drama because I've passively lived with this tree for several months. It is somehow still alive. My SO seriously damaged his eye when attempting to dismantle it piecemeal, so we've decided we need to call in the pros.

Before I go over to talk to the neighbor, I would like to know whose problem it really is, legally. That is, I don't want to "generously" offer to split the cost 50/50 if we are fully responsible for it.

We are in unincorporated county area in TX, if that matters. We, and I believe the neighbor, are the homeowners, not renters.

Bonus MSPaint diagram to describe the situation better than I can with words: http://i.imgur.com/lVNpD8a.jpg

[IL] I sold a video game account and now the buyer is harassing me.

    Posted: 29 Sep 2018 11:10 PM PDT

Almost a year ago, I sold a video game (RuneScape) account, and the buyer has harassed me several times in emails similar to this with threats of a lawsuit because the person they sold the account to lost access to the account. Each time, I helped them regain access to the account. I got sent the email again today and am wondering if any of this is legit. The buyer is in Texas apparently, I'm in Illinois. The buyer paid through PayPal, and has a picture of my ID. Under the terms and conditions of the game account, the creator of the game (the gaming company Jagex) owns the account.

    eBay Buyer Scam

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 10:46 AM PDT

I recently sold the new Apple Watch Series 4 - Stainless Steel version on eBay to a buyer. Item arrived and he is claiming I sent him the wrong watch, that I sent him the cheaper aluminum version instead and is claiming I am scamming him, wants his money back, etc. etc. When I asked him for pictures of the "incorrect" watch he received, he sent a picture of the box of an aluminum Apple Watch but cleverly cropped out the serial number (which can be used to track where/when the watch was purchased) from the box. When I asked for a full picture including the serial number, he became very defensive, wouldn't provide anymore pictures and filed a return via eBay.

I have evidence from Apple, with a case opened with a case number proving that the watch I sold and delivered has indeed been activated and registered by the owner and his name is all over the watch and it is easily trackable by Apple. They provided info to me to provide to eBay, PayPal, law enforcement, etc. so they can contact Apple and Apple can verify that the buyer is lying and is indeed using the watch he claims to have never received.

I called eBay after the buyer opened a return request stating all of this. eBay thinks the best way to manage this is to accept the buyer's return request and pay for return shipping so the buyer can ship whatever he claims is the wrong watch back.

Ethically, I can't agree with this. That would mean I accept the buyer's claims, which are obviously false. Not once did eBay even request the info from Apple proving that the buyer has the watch and is using it. I have contacted better business bureau already about this to see if they can help. All I want is for eBay to tell the buyer that his claims are false. He is using the watch and any claim that I am scamming him by sending him the incorrect watch is incorrect as well. I don't want to accept return for anything. As far as I see it, the transaction was carried out properly. He bought an item from me. I sent the item. He is using the item.

Do you guys have any other ideas on who else I should contact or what else I should do to protect myself?

Builder bullied my Grandparents into inserting a 50% profit clause into their house (Wales)

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 09:08 AM PDT

When my grandparents, who have passed away since, brought their house they originally agreed a price. However when the builder realised he had sold at lower than market value he threatened to pull out the deal unless they put in a clause which meant he would receive 50% of any profits.

Are there any ways to get around this? he was a horrible person and doesn't deserve anything.

we have already paid inheritance tax based on the value of the house. Is it possible to sell at the same price we brought it at and either create a separate agreement with the buyer over the rest of the price of the property?

or is it possible to sell the property to a family member at the price my grandparents bought it at or do you have to put the house on at market value?

[WI] Inlaws are threatening a lawsuit over our child getting injured on their property and called CPS

    Posted: 29 Sep 2018 02:28 PM PDT

Sorry if I put the flair wrong, wasn't sure what to put it on!

Me and my wife and 3 1/2 year old daughter moved to Wisconsin 2 weeks ago to be closer to her family (illness and I was offered a huge raise and new job up here so it all seemed to workout). We moved in with them until the house we found closes and move in there, all our possessions except clothes and necessities are in storage.

Kids will be kids she's a climber with no fear so her falling, getting bumps and bruises especially in a new place with all new stuff isn't surprising. She climbed a shelf, fell and managed to get a pretty good nick on the side of her head that prompted an ER visit where a small bit of liquid stitches were applied (she didn't really need any form of stitches but was done more to appease the freaking out mom and grandma). No big deal, she's a kid and kids always have some form of bruises or cuts on them.

Well here's where it gets interesting the FIL has a friend who's son is an attorney (criminal) and today they sat us down to inform us that they are considering legal action against us for HER injury while at the time they admit that MIL was watching her and responsible for her on their property. Then an added tidbit that the FIL has made a affidavit that him and his attorney will present to CPS on Monday.

So I write this from a hotel room because I refuse to let my child stay anywhere near them until the house closes and plan to give them written notice they are not welcome at our home for future police/trespassing issues. My wife agrees with me and says "Dad is being dad, probably afraid we will sue him so he has to fully protect his money".

Apparently in my wife's youth one of her friends got seriously injured at her parents house. Somehow a bunch of 9 year olds were driving around a riding lawnmower at a birthday party and a kid lost 3 toes and they got sued obviously.

We never considered legal action for the injury because who the hell would? Kids get hurt, it's just life and it wasn't serious so no big deal.

She tells me that on Monday more than likely he won't do the CPS thing or even continue this and him and his attorney will just give us some forms to sign saying we won't sue. WTF she knows this is messed up but seems status quo with her father like this is just what he does. I barely know her family because we met out of state and apart from a few visits never really got to know them super well.

I have looked up local family law attorneys and a few have emergency numbers to call and contact but is what we need a family law attorney or more a civil attorney? We both agree this is absurd and to be honest her and her parents are not on good terms and haven't been for years, just her entire family lives up here and her sister is the one we moved for really with a illness and she's alone so a lot of help is going to be needed in the next year or so.

I'm not one to back down or be treated like a child especially when it involves my child. She supports the decision to fight lawyers with lawyers and do I need family and civil or just one? I really want to be able to start immediately 9AM or earlier if I can if he's even half serious on his Monday threats.

    Legal Question re Rape

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 08:52 AM PDT

Is forced sex rape, even if it's your boy friend, and you'd always done whatever he wanted ? Forty years ago, I was with a man who used me for whatever needs he had. He'd wake me up with a slap to my head, and force me to have sex. I put up with it, but never thought it was rape. Now, after all these years, I don't know.

[CO] Health insurance issue: new baby and income

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 06:50 AM PDT

    Hoping for some guidance here.

We bought our health care through Colorado's marketplace. We recently had a baby and the day prior I called to have him added to our insurance just like I did with the first one.

Only this time, it kicked both kids off to CHP+ (Medicaid essentially) which we don't actually qualify for. We went in and updated our income but now Cigna is telling us we have to talk to the marketplace about it and the marketplace is telling us we don't have a choice because our income wasn't updated prior to making the phone call.

Any ideas of how we should/can handle this? We just want both kids in the insurance we're paying for and don't want to get screwed regarding the costs of the new baby post delivery.

    Accused of grooming

    Posted: 29 Sep 2018 05:18 PM PDT

I'm a 26 gay male and the accuser is a 17 year old male. About 3 months ago I befriended the guy/kid at the gym in my residence clubhouse. He was just starting out at the gym and came to me asking for advice since we usually came at the same time. So I gave him a routine he could follow and would give him form/diet tips. After awhile we started talking between sets and found out we liked similar film directors and other interest. He asked for my number so he could reccomend me films and vice versa. He would text me the movies occasional and i would thank him and send him films also. But my job schedule changed my hours so I couldn't be at the gym during the same time as him. Because of that he started texting more often and making the topics more personal and would ask me about career advice. He also reveal to me his mom was having money issues and couldn't afford new shoes.

I suggested and gave him one of my nike free's I no longer used since we had the same shoes size. again I didnt think it was a big deal at the time. But things became "weird" when somehow he found my instagram(he claims thru my number instagram revealed it?) and found out I was gay. He started asking me about how did I come out to my family etc. And I asked him if he was gay also. He said no but then said "I never took you for a *f****ot" and I told him that was offensive and don't think it was good idea to remain in contact. So after 3 weeks of no contact. I saw him at the gym and said he was sorry. I forgave him but still denied wanting to lift with him or speak with like we did. Then he messaged me last night "You were only being to nice to me so you could groom me to have sex with you" Now after that I freaked out and told me that wasn't true and why would he accuse me of said thing. He hasn't responded back. But is there anything I should be doing to protect myself? I have all of our text messages saved. But i'm in shock that something so harmless would turn into this. I legit had a panic attack. My partner is saying I should get a lawyer but i wanted to ask you guys first.

Home builder trying to screw me. (Nebraska)

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 08:43 AM PDT

I bought a new build in May, and was under the impression that'd we'd have a yard a lot sooner than we did. So in August I had asked to upgrade from seed to sod to get the yard in quicker. I agreed to pay the difference. I was given the price difference (.13$/sqft) so I broke down of what it should cost based on the footage (23,000) the yard guy gave me and the builder says ya that's right as long as footage is correct. However the lawn guy wanted to re measure because the thought there was an error, and the builder wasn't notified it was re measured. So I get my bill from builder and it was the exact amount I proposed based on 23,000 sqft. I call the lawn folk and they tell me they only billed them for 14,400 sqft.

Do I have any legal options to dispute the bill? Since I agreed to only pay difference. Also I never signed anything in regards to upgrade the only email is the calculations I sent over. Everything else is via phone.

[Texas] Repair shop left my car windows opened and it rained all weekend.

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 11:49 AM PDT

Drove past the local repair shop today to find my car sitting outside, with a trash bag over the window. It's been raining all weekend and my seats and carpets are soaked and smells of mold now. Nobody is there right now as it's Sunday.

Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

[CA] Crashed Rental Car and now being sued for total cost plus lawyer cost

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 08:57 AM PDT

In March of 2017 I crashed a rental car and due to own negligence and unavailability (was incarcerated shortly after for unrelated incident) I did not handle the insurance claim. At the time I had my own insurance and coverage from the rental company that would have both covered the incident. Since then I have cleaned up my life quite a bit and forgot about this incident for the most part. Until last week when I received a letter from a lawyer stating that due to my noncompliance in the insurance companies investigation I owe the rental car the total cost of the vehicle plus their fees for being retained by this company. They state if I do not arrange payment with them they will be filing suit.

My question is essentially what is my best course of action? Is there any chance I can try and have the claim reopened? Or is it too late to look into either the rental insurance or my own? If I do have to just eat the cost of a vehicle will they be willing to settle for a smaller amount to not have to go to court? This all took place in the state of California, but the lawyer seems to be out of Maine if that is relevant. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

(Throw away because not sure about having all of this info on an account the co-workers/friends know about)

EDIT: I meant March of 2017!!! Over a year ago.

Could a lawyer help me recover proof of contact from a DOC facility? [CT]

    Posted: 30 Sep 2018 11:42 AM PDT

I wasn't sure how to explain this in the title. Basically my ex is in DOC custody and called me numerous times (hundreds) while we had two protective orders in place, which stated no contact of any kind. I called DOC a few times and finally got them to block my number from his facility, but when I said I was going to file a police report, they weren't exactly helpful. They told me that obviously I can do whatever I want, but since my ex was using other inmates PIN numbers to access the phone, on their end they can't prove it was him. They wouldn't punish him internally due to lack of proof so I'd imagine they don't have much to offer to the police. I realized later that there's likely cameras that could show him on the phone (matching my phone records) and the calls are supposed to be recorded (I have answered before, so his voice would be on there). A family friend told me I might have luck if I got a lawyer to help me- maybe to write a letter or something to the facility? I'm not really sure which is why I'm posting here. Would a lawyer be of any help here? I feel like DOC could produce proof if need be but kinda blew me off when I talked to them. Would it be better to just file a police report and let them handle it?
