If you were given 5MM dollars.. Posted: 09 Aug 2018 01:31 AM PDT .. or the equivalent in your currency of course, what would you do? Someone rich comes up to you and tells you to bring him a lucrative and simple business idea in which he can invest 5MM. The guy would want it back and make some profit of it. I'm curious what you guys can come up with! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 09 Aug 2018 12:21 AM PDT I wonder if anyone here can help? I have the opportunity to buy a number of apartments at a discounted rate with an aim to sell them on for a quick profit. If I then use that profit to purchase more properties can those sales be written off against your profit at the end of the year, thereby reducing your tax liability? Thanks for any help. And what kinds of businesses could I do? I am studying IT by the way. [link] [comments] |

What is the point of a bank loan? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 08:50 PM PDT Simple question, I go to 10 banks and ask for 50,000, they give it to me. I have 500,000 to make money with. What in the fuck am I supposed to do with it? Now I'm really asking this; what the fuck do I, what the fuck do the other rich guys get loans for that they make so much wealth with it? Am I supposed to get a million dollar loan and start up an electric company from scratch? Or are these guys buying swaths of stock of a small corporation, are they buying out small companies and making them work for you? I don't see the point of it all. Perhaps someone who isn't a 19 year old idiot like myself can explain the point of bank loans to me. What the hell do people get them for that they create so much wealthy with them? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 05:02 PM PDT Few years ago I have started a car exporting business with a friend out of simple curiosity. We purchased couple of used cars through a car auction and sent them overseas to sell. As soon as the vehicles reached the destination, they were instantly sold out. We understood right away that we were onto something. Without any second thoughts, we decided to increase the number of cars we would send. Our problem was that we didn't have enough cash to purchase additional cars. Delivery of cars on the ship would take about 3 months and we simply couldn't just wait that long to cash out and repurchase cars again. We would be losing on the opportunity to grow our business and make more money. Getting a loan was the solution and we started looking for lending institutions and banks. Unfortunately, dozens of them rejected us because of our credit scores, insufficient collateral and bunch of other reasons we didn't know about. Also the application process would take forever and it was super hard to get approved. Few lenders eventually approved us for a loan, but we didn't know if those rates were competitive enough. Then we thought that there must be many other small business owners like us who are not able to find working capital easily for their businesses. So we've built a Funder Hunt - a lending platform that saves you hundred of hours on searching for lenders that provide working capital for your business at competitive rates. Have a look and let us know what you think🙂 [link] [comments] |
Taking over a family business. Posted: 08 Aug 2018 09:30 AM PDT Hi. After a slight dissapointment in my recent exam results determining which University's I qualify to attend, it is unlikely I will be given a place in one of the best Uni's in my country. Because of this this, I am considering taking over my grandfathers business. I've worked by my grandfathers side since I was an early teenager. I started with the basic tasks that require little training. However, after 5 years of part time work during school holidays and weekends I have gained many skills that have given me a greater understanding of the business itself. For example, not only am I fully capable of producing the marketed product, but I am also in charge of the IT work that goes into the selling process. By working by my grandfathers side I have gained a good amount of experience in marketing and business for my age. I am often consulted when there is a marketing idea as I've worked my way up to input valid suggestions that helps the business grow. I would like to know what steps would be appropriate and what experiences you have gained when taking over a family business. Any advice or experiences would be appreciated! Thank you. Joining an agency as managing partner without investing money Posted: 08 Aug 2018 11:24 AM PDT Hi r/business I'm looking for advice for a business deal that I will have to negotiate. The last year I've been active as a consultant for an agency and I really love working there. I love the craft, I love the "boss" and our clients. The boss knows that I'm up for something more than just being a consultant and asked me 6 months ago if I wanted to becoming managing partner of the agency. At that point I was still very active in my own start-up and didn't have the time to do so. Last month he asked me again and the more I think about it, the more I would love to work on our agency. The agency has next to the boss, 1 full-time employee and 3 freelance consultants. It's not big but it's growing! The agency was started by a group of experienced entrepreneurs ( a lot older than me) and one of them is actively running the agency. They also have an investor who invested quite some money in the different companies this group is running. I would really like to built up a "significant amount" of equity in this agency but I'm not able to invest a lot of money. [link] [comments] |
