Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:10 AM PDT Coworker has been kinda harassing me lately because I wouldn't help her do sidework after I had already clocked out last week. As we left work that day, she tailgated me, cut me off, and flicked her cigarette at my car all while texting me about the situation. Didn't text me anything threatening, just stuff like "that was a bitch move". When I returned from vacation yesterday she was acting rude towards me all day, along with all of our coworkers who are friends with her. I started crying because I have an anxiety disorder and was already struggling with work that day anyways, and a lot of people were being purposely difficult towards me which was making my job a lot harder. When my manager asked me what was wrong, I exclaimed "Everyone hates me!" This is when my coworker approached me and started going off on me about how I'm lazy and rude to everyone. I tried to walk away but she kept confronting me. I told her to "fuck off" which is when she started splashing water in my face. Then everyone started yelling at her to stop, and then she clenched her fists up and acted like she was going to hit me. People held her back and I said "Hit me! Lose your fucking job over this, I don't care!" She said "Let's take this outside then" and I said "No, I don't want to fight you!" She ran away and I told my manager what happened. For the rest of my shift this girl would punch the wall and act all tough every time she saw me. My manager let me go home early after I wrote down everything that happened in a report. I have a bad feeling that she is going to retaliate, especially because she will most likely get fired over this. She knows what kind of car I drive and where to find me. So I just need to know, how do I protect myself without breaking any laws? I'm genuinely scared for my safety because she could jump me when I'm least expecting it or have all her friends come jump me. Would carrying a pocketknife incriminate me if I had to use it? I don't want to get a conceal carry (nor can I afford it right now). Please help, thank you. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Jun 2018 07:49 PM PDT EDIT: So I contacted the number u/thunder_buck gave me 313-456-3510 and they referred me to the number at 855-464-9243 and I talked to a lady. She said I needed to have the women, individually fill out complaint forms - and it was in no way anonymous. That if there is a way to allow me to make an anonymous complaint, this number isn't it. I explained to her these women can not and will not do what she is asking. It is so weird to me that the government agency that is supposed to help these women, won't. If it is legal, how the hell? If not, who would I report it to? I just watched a girl in tears because she messed up someone's order and they refused to pay - the owner made them pay 40.00 of their earned wages to rectify their mistake. Edit: I inquired about her paying from a coworker - they have to pay for all mess ups, any dine and dashing or anything that isn't the cooks fault. She said they can loose upwards of 100.00 a week on average, and this is in an area where they can not be making much in tips in the first place. (Poor city, bad clientele) Edit 2: just want to add that this is the type of diner that women end up at when they are at the end of their waitressing career, either too old to be in a legit place where they are busting their ass and quick. Lots of waitresses coming to work in cars that basically have 3 wheels and the doors falling off without insurance. Young women with 2 kids who show up for work late because they couldn't get anyone to watch their kids for free. That being said - this place is a gem and the atmosphere is the best, but there is nothing they can do to hold their rich Greek owner accountable - they can't even report him for fear of losing their job. These aren't waitresses trying to hustle a buck with a sob story - these are women at the end of their rope being clearly taken advantage of. Gonna make some calls tomorrow. [link] [comments] |
(TX) Can a er refuse to do a life saving surgery? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:59 AM PDT I had my son 8 months ago and also had my tubes tied after I gave birth. I've been feeling really sick recently and took a pregnancy test because I heard it could still happen. I'm pregnant. I called my pcp and he did an official test which also came up as positive. He referred me a gynecologist. She is the only one in my area who is accepting my insurance at this time..but she'll be out for 2 months. I went to the er and they said they wont do it because I need a doctor that specializes in that. Can they really do this? I feel like I'm dying honestly. I've been fighting a fever for days and things are just getting worse. (UPDATE) I went to a different hospital and they are treating me. Thank you all for your help. I appreciate it. I'm filing a complaint with the first hospital and will possibly get a lawyer. I will respond to all comments as soon as I can. [link] [comments] |
My 13 year old daughter is pregnant and I need to know my legal options Posted: 28 Jun 2018 09:34 PM PDT I live in Iowa. This morning my 13 year old daughter told me she was pregnant. My life has been just a blurry whirlwind ever since. I've already contacted the police (the father is 16) and they've declined to arrest him or charge him with anything as in our state there is a close in age clause that my daughter is just a 3 months short of falling under and they've assed there was "no real crime". Which is a whole other thing I plan on pressing with higher authorities. What I need to know now is what are my options? My daughter absolutely refuses to get an abortion and won't even discuss adoption. She's made it clear she fully intends to birth this child and I have no f-ing clue what to do. I myself don't believe in abortions and I've passed my values along to my daughter as well, but I definitely believe that adoption is the only good option in this situation. My marriage will not survive something like this and we absolutely can not afford to take care of another baby. I just can't. If I could, this would be another story but I can't make money appear out of thin air. We're barely making our mortgage and car payment as it is and we're living paycheck to paycheck. My husband was in an accident at the begging of the year and our savings have been entirely drained. I just can't imagine my daughter can just force us into poverty and gift us a child against our wishes. Is there any way shape or form that my husband and I could compel her to give her baby up for adoption? I know it might sound heartless but can I make her live elsewhere? I just can't do this. My husband and I work full time and there's no way either of us could babysit for her. I just don't see how I'm expected to foot the bill and raise this child and destroy my marriage and livelihood in the process. I know my daughter is 13 and they are selfish by nature sometimes, but I just can't believe my daughter would force this on us despite all of my pleas. If I call CPS, what kind of intervention could they provide? I love my daughter very much but I'm at the end of my rope and would even support her through an abortion, or adoption, or whatever, but we cannot and will not raise a baby we had no say in creating. Are there ANY legal options we have? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:10 AM PDT Original thread. Once again, in MI. Yesterday she moved out. Finally. Without needing to be evicted. Came, took all her things, and left. Hooray! But of course that couldn't come without complications.

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:41 AM PDT Hello legaladvice! This might not be the right place to post this, so my apologies if it isn't. My partner and I are new in this town and opened a small diner/cafe. We have recently had a competitor set up shop down the road from us. Some of our regulars know city council members here, and they have informed us that our competition has friends on the city council, and that they have voted to pay the electricity bill for her. This doesn't seem right to me and I was wondering if there was any action I could take if it is in fact wrong. We are in Houston County MN if that helps. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 06:12 AM PDT Hi everyone. I'm posting this on behalf of a friend, who currently doesn't have good internet access due to the fact they're moving house but wanted advice from Reddit on their situation. I've copied and pasted what they sent me below: "I'm based in the UK. I'm moving into a new flat this weekend, and today after receiving the keys I went over to have a look at it and maybe start moving some stuff over. I told my landlord and letting agent that I'd be there at about 1pm. They told me there'd be a cleaner there until around 3:30pm today, cleaning the flat and also doing some painting on the walls to refresh them. I have already signed my tenancy agreement and obviously I've received the keys. I've also already paid my first month of rent. According to my tenancy agreement my lease doesn't officially begin until "2 days prior to moving in." I officially move in tomorrow, which is when the moving van will transport all my furniture over and I'll hand back the keys to my current place. So I get there this afternoon at 1pm with my mum. My mum goes to look around while I go into the kitchen. My mum walked in on the landlord and a woman (possibly the cleaner? But I don't know) having sex in the spare room. They had brought their own spare mattress, which was on the floor, and were totally naked on top of it. She immediately came out and told me. I go in. They'd obviously stopped having sex after my mum saw them, but they were still naked, so I got an eyeful of that. I asked what they were doing and my landlord actually got angry with me, telling me I had no right to be upset because I hadn't officially moved in yet, so he could do whatever he wanted with the property. He said I have absolutely no legal grounds to object and he isn't interested in doing anything to make amends. What can I do in this situation? Should I inform the letting agent that this has happened? I didn't take photos, so I don't have proof other than that my mum is also a witness. The landlord and woman left very quickly, which means that the cleaning that was promised and the refurbishment has not been done (and it shows). I also travel often for my job, and I am contractually obligated to inform my landlord if I am absent from the property for longer than four days. Normally this would be no problem, except now I'm worried that he'll start fucking people in the flat again when he knows I'm not there. What can I do? Summary: I am moving into a new flat. Caught landlord fucking someone in the day before I officially move in. Want to know my options." [link] [comments] |
[Update] Found my stolen items for sale on eBay Posted: 29 Jun 2018 09:46 AM PDT Original post from a few days ago So I found some stolen items of mine on eBay that had been taken from my car two weeks prior on a trip to Los Angeles (I live on the east coast). After talking to a detective and finding the buyer's OfferUp page and social media, he pursued recovering the items. Got a call today that he confiscated the main item, a camera, thanks to the serial number I provided. Unfortunately the re-seller (who voluntarily brought the camera in) claims the other items I found that I'm sure are mine (lenses with identical damage, uncommon versions, irregularities) came from a different seller, with the camera being bought alone at some garage sale. The detective agreed that it's not easy to take his word for it (seems to believe my claim that other stuff matches), but that at least he turned in the camera (he bought it for $400 apparently, was reselling for $750) and will look into the garage sale lead but doubts he'll wind up finding the original car thief (probably changed hands several times). Should I let this go, or should I contact the re-seller and explain the situation? I'm concerned that technically I cannot prove ownership since these other items don't have serial numbers like the camera does, but I'm certain beyond any doubt that at least a few of those items are mine. After the detective contacted him he took down the listings for the camera and other items, and has not relisted them yet. But now I feel like it'll end in a loop of he-said she-said, since this guy gets his stuff in cash off-the-record before selling it online, and he'd lose even more money if he gave up this gear (this stuff plus the camera would put him out about a grand, depending on how cheap he got them). Side-note: I did submit an insurance claim for the whole set of items I lost (some of which have not turned up, such as a laptop), but there's no certainty they'll cover anything so I'm recover anything in prep for a worst case scenario. HELP: How do I retrieve my cash? *frozen venmo* Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:07 AM PDT An acquaintance of mine owed me cash and he paid me through venmo only to see my account get frozen. Now the money is stuck in there and Im banned from using venmo services again from what I seen in my email. Upon asking why I was frozen I get, " " If you have questions regarding this decision, please note that we do not divulge our decision-making criteria in order to protect the systems that monitor activity on Venmo. " And asking where my money is, I get the response " There appears to have been an issue processing the payments you received, and therefore we were unable to credit your account. We recommend getting in touch with your transactor since we have no additional information we can provide about these particular transactions. " His account has been frozen also and he's not willing to pay it again as it was 800$ and he's no longer in the country. So venmo detected of our trade as 'fraud' or against their rules. Who do I contact to fix this mess? Can I do anything about this? I'd like the money back that is owed. Should I sue them? I'm terribly confused on how to approach this. [link] [comments] |
Fired because 16 year old employee claimed I gave him acid. Posted: 28 Jun 2018 09:52 PM PDT Illinois I work at a pizza place as an assistant manager. I was about to be promoted to general manager. I was called in today on my day off for a manager meeting. I was informed that one of our 16 year old employees was in rehab because his parents found acid. The kid said that he got it from a manager at work. I don't even know where to get acid. Is there anything I can do? We just finished discussing salary for my promotion. How can he do this? I'm sorry for formatting I'm crying right now. I just moved into this house I don't even have a stove. I'm just blindsided. [link] [comments] |
Received a Cease & Desist for an online review Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:04 AM PDT Indiana 2 days ago I left a 1 star google review for a past place of employment. I still work in the same industry and continue to hear about all the unethical things that happen there from reputable sources. I did not comment anything in the review, just left the one star. Yesterday morning, the owner replied to the google review stating my past employment. The owner also found me on social media and sent a message to me privately there. I did not respond to either of these and blocked the owner from viewing my social media page. In the message, I feel my current business was slightly threatened. "How would you feel if someone left untruthful reviews on your business page?" Maybe it only seems threatening to me because I know their history of unethical practice. This morning I received a cease and desist from their lawyer. I'm not sure if all these letters are worded the same so if you need specific information or text from that I can share if you have questions. It does say I need to acknowledge the letter and something about potential slander claims. This exact scenario happened to someone else I know in the industry from the same past employer (minus the private message on social media). This person did not engage in anything further or acknowledge the letter. Their review is still up as well. Is there anything I should do to protect myself or my business? [link] [comments] |
19yo taking care of dementia patient that’s my grandma. State taking over? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 09:00 AM PDT So to cover everything real quick, I've been taking care of her for nearly two years. Have doctor and nurses coming to help as often as they can. My grandma hates me because of the illness and won't have anything to do with me. I can't get power of atternoy because she won't sign. So yesterday I was gone to lunch, as she doesn't require 24/7 care, APS Officer told me so. We have a life alert thing for reason like this. When I was gone for merely 2 hours. She got stuck in her walk in bathtub where she just sits. And called the button. Neighbor are evil people. About two weeks ago they helped her cancel her bank card knowing she had the illness which called her power to go out and 6 other autopay bills that got messed up. Anyway, they got to the EMS people first and talked all this bad mess about me and my family to the point the EMS people were talking and treating me like a criminal. They didn't believe me about her mental state and now they won't let me go back to see her in the hospital. My doctors and nurses can't really do anything. I'm ok friends with a APS worker but he hasn't been by his phone. I'm in Texas btw I have nowhere to go because I don't have paystubs and no family. Oh sorry guys and girls. What do I do in the meantime. They won't let me go see her in the hospital and she only lets the neighbor. What should I do about my living and making sure nothing gets out of hand. mechanic claimed over 20k on my car (mustang bought new for ~37k) over some cosmetic damages Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:53 AM PDT Hi everyone, So a little bit of a background story, I was in an accident about two years ago. My car is a 2015 ford mustang ecoboost premium (bought for ~37k before taxes). The accident was nothing too serious and although the damage was visible, Im 99% certain it was just cosmetic (only one panel was damaged). Fast forward to last week when I went to a dealership to trade-in my car and they got the car's carproof. it shows over 20k claimed by the guy that fixed my car from insurance. over 20k on a less than 40k car. Now no dealership wants my trade in (because they don't believe 20k claim was for a damaged panel) and my car's value took a huge hit because of this. TBH now that I think about it they're the kind of people to run the car to a wall and claim more, but I have no way of verifying if that's the case. Can I report them for fraud? What are my options here? I live in Ontario, Canada. Any help Is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much [link] [comments] |
Aunt files self as payee of orphan benefits and takes the money + more. Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:47 AM PDT I'm posting for my friend whom is in some trouble here. Her mother and father died in the same year - one in our home state of Florida and the other died in Puerto Rico. Until recently she has been hopping between a friend's home and her aunt. Just recently, she got her co-guardians changed to her Sister and her friend's mother (this was done behind the aunts back, so she is notably pissed.) My friend lives with her friend and her friends mother currently. Just today, the aunt filed to be the payee for her social security benefits, and she cut off all contact as well. So her money is in the process of being stolen from her. On top of this - the aunt has all original copies of her birth certificate, SSN, etc. My friend cannot prove to anyone that she is who she is, and have legal action taken against the aunt because of that. What can she do? EDIT: Aunt was given power of attorney when my friend's father left to Puerto Rico - but he died in Puerto Rico. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 11:39 AM PDT Hey /r/legaladvice, this is about a close friend of mine and not myself. We live in Southern California and my friend works at a fairly large boba/bubble tea chain. I was talking to him yesterday and found out that his employer takes most of the tips and they are only allowed $1 of tip per hour that they work during the pay period. To my knowledge they make at or barely above minimum wage. Is this legal? Should they be recieving tips? I'm not sure if this is illegal or just unethical business practice but they recieve a fairly good amount of tips so learning that his workplace does this means he's lost out on a lot of potential wages. What should we do? Is there anything we even *can* do? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Police want to search my computer... (FL) Posted: 29 Jun 2018 09:54 AM PDT Police officers knocked on my door and I allowed them in. They told me they wanted to talk to me about something, I figured they wanted to talk to me about my neighbor who's involved herself recently in a series of domestic incidents/disputes with her husband or the burglary that occurred a few doors down from mine not too long ago. They sat me down and told me that child pornography was being sent/received from my home. ***I DO NOT WATCH CHILD PORNOGRAPHY***, period. I've never shared such material nor have I ever asked for it. The police told me they wanted to check my computer and phone to see whether or not I had anything inappropriate. I told them that I did not give them permission and that they needed a warrant. They kept questioning why I was so nervous (I was not; just somewhat bothered that they had woke me up in my sleep and kept bothering me after I had told them that I was not involved in any of this) and that they just wanted to check my computer and go. They did their best to make me fill guilty, but I still refused. One officer kept pressuring me, telling me that it's okay if I'm a pedophile who's 'wanking' at this shit and that I shouldn't be rejecting them if I were not guilty. I still refused. I don't want two random, warrantless police officers looking through what is essentially my life, and possibly other *legal* appropriate material that I might have on my computer (pornhub links or whatever else, lol). The officers left and later came back, without a warrant it seems as they did not present it, and they showed me an image and asked if that was my young sibling in the photo (my young siblings came up during the initial visit as they asked me if I had any). It was an image of someone holding up what seemed like an infants private parts to a camera. I told them that it most certainly was not my young sister, who's a young woman/tween. They even asked my step father, who randomly came home from his job a bit early, if the person in the image was his daughter and of course he said **no**. They left and went to speak to my mom, who also, of course, denied that it was her daughter in that image and that the photos were clearly not from our house as the background of said pictures contained stuff that was not from our home. The police officers mentioned that the photos were taken by Omegle from my IP address. Now, I've been on Omegle before, but not anytime recently (probably well over a year ago). The pictures supposedly were taken in March of this year, but I have not been on the website, again, anytime recently. There are no babies in my house. Was I correct to deny them access to my electronics? Is there anything else I should do to protect myself from police pressure? Any suggestions regarding my situation? Any would be appreciated, thanks. This is all very overwhelming. edit: Also, would anyone know how this is in anyway possible? How did my IP come up in all of this? Could it have been a mistake? My parents do no't use the internet (maybe their LTE connection on their phones at times) and I'm most certainly not a pedophile and I do not partake in any of this stuff. What's going on here? I got scammed at work, and I can’t quite figure it out. Posted: 28 Jun 2018 04:39 PM PDT New Jersey- I work on a tree farm. About six weeks ago a guy came in, and I remember him because he rubbed me the wrong way. A coworker sold him two trees, and he was set up for delivery and installation on May 30, which happened and paperwork was filed. The end? No Yesterday we received notice that the man disputed the charge and we didn't get paid. I called him from my cell so that he didn't know it was about trees. I identified myself, asked him if he was happy with his trees. After a few questions, he asked if there was a problem, I explained the situation, he told me that his wallet had been stolen, and he would call his credit card and let them know we were a valid charge, and call me right back. He didn't call back. When I got done work, I drove by the home, and see the trees are definitely there, I don't stop because customer and another man were out front. I do try to take pics as I'm driving by, and they see that. Text customer and ask if he forgot to return my call. No response. This morning, bookkeeping spoke to credit card company. They are not saying the card was stolen, they are saying the customer denies receiving product. Oddly enough the bit of info they will give us is that they know the product was trees. The only way we are getting paid is if we produce invoice signed by customer acknowledging receipt of product. I don't know why the drivers do not have the customer sign, but from now on they will. A customer comes in the office and pays and completes all paperwork so that drivers do not interact w customer at all. I've actually never met them. They work for us at another location and just stop one day a week to pick up product and paperwork. We've been in business 57 years and this never happened before. Do a little googling. Customer lives in a house owned by his father w the same name. Father lives in another location. Customer was convicted of manufacturing meth in a school zone seven years ago. Wonder if customer used fathers credit card had trees installed where he lives, bill went to dad where he lives, and dad didn't know anything about trees? Dads voicemail is full. Call customer this afternoon. He tells me he called the credit card company yesterday, and is pretty cocky. "It takes longer than 12 hours. More people work there than just the lady we spoke to." I tell him I don't want to argue. They aren't my trees. I need to resolve this to get my paycheck. (Not true)Do you have a reference number? A police report? No. I tell him I'll have to call the police if he can't give me something to take to the police. Tell him we have pics from yesterday of installed trees. He says I'm harassing him, if I want to get the police involved, there's that. I ask him if he's on probation for manufacturing meth, he hangs up. He calls back about 15 mins later wanting to know what he has to do to avoid police. He's going to call credit company again email us a reference number of some. Doesn't happen. I text him asking if he would be willing to sign a receipt, no answer. Calls go right to voicemail I don't yet have permission to call police. Will probably be doing that Monday. Did I miss anything? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 11:43 AM PDT Spring 2017 I attended a CUNY University and the department responsible for handling my paperwork lost my files roughly 5 times over the course of a month. This led to a situation where I did not receive my grades until August of 2017. This was after months and months of disputing and showing dozens upon dozens of email records. I won my case in the end because the school knows it was at fault. However, this caused me to be late to registering for Fall 2017, and I needed overtallys. An overtally is essentially a professor admitting a student in a full class. I got all professors overtallies and handed them in. However, just like last semester, the faculty "lost" them. Again. Now instead of handling it like last time, my university got the legal counsel on me. The faculty got in BIG trouble last time, and I feel they are using a lawyer as a last ditch effort to make sure I don't make a scene. Now, I have again dozens and dozens of emails to back up my claims of the extreme incompetence of my university. However, the lawyer is asking for incredibly ridiculous records and documents he knows I won't be able to procure. He asked me to have timestamped dates and times of each and every single time I contacted the departments over the phone, in person, and in email. Email is fine, I sent him a huge stack of papers. But he is demanding I give him more "proof". I have dozens of emails that went unanswered by the faculty for over 5 months, but apparently that means nothing. Is this an undue burden to be asking of someone? Is a reasonable person supposed to mark down every single interaction they have with their school? Timestamps+notes of each time I speak to faculty over the phone or in person, shall I whip out a notebook and start writing down the events? I've had to meet with faculty over a dozen times in the course of last semester, am I honestly expected to have a detailed record of everything they say and promise? I am just lost. The lawyer grins whenever he thinks he "got me" in a lie, and it's just so clear he cares for nothing more than to get me out of the college's way. I have dozens of emailed unanswered by the college with contradicting information, and they have no problem with that. What can I do? This entire scenario happened almost an entire year ago (because of how sluggish the college acted to help me). Is this not putting an undue burden to procure evidence on me? I do not expect the faculty to whip out a friggin notebook and start writing down the events that occur between each student interaction, but to expect it of me is honestly baffling. Is it legal to own a duck in California Posted: 29 Jun 2018 12:59 PM PDT I know a lot of exotic animals are illegal to own without a license in CA, does anyone know if ducks fall into this category? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 07:59 AM PDT On may 25th I had a laparoscopic surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. One of my surgical sites developed an infection. The wound is not healing (I'm not diabetic), they have told me that the infection may have triggered pyroderma (I have UC). I was originally told that I would only be off work for 3 weeks. Now it is looking like it will be at least 8 weeks, probably 9. I have used up my emergency fund and am now driving myself into debt by racking up my credit card to pay bills because I did not financially plan to be off for this long. I have not yet received a bill for the surgery or any of the care related to the wound. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Jun 2018 04:22 PM PDT Hi guys! Long time lurker! But today I need advice. I started working at a daycare center in VA about two months ago. I love the center and the teachers are great at making meaningful connections with the students. Not even a week into working here do I find out that I'm being placed in the "difficult class" that has scared away 4 previous teachers. This is a class of 7 3-4 year olds. This doesn't scare me due to my previous experience and Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I begin working with the current teacher and we quickly see that we balance one another out well and I was excited to be teaching these kids. But the problem is this one child who I'm gonna call Aaron. This child has obvious anger issues that are developing/constant. Since there are two teachers in the class now, discipline has been our main focus and he has not taken to not being able to do Aaron's way all day long. I began by doing love intervention and giving him my undivided attention for about a month. I saw no progress and have tried many intervention methods since and things have progressively gotten worse. This student spends 80% of the day raging on myself, other staff, and other students. I've been kicked, punched, slapped, pinched, and spit on for the last two months. Not to mention that every single toy in the room has been thrown at me at one point in time. I'm fed up. My mental health is deteriorating. I'm losing sleep. Constantly anxious. My parents and fiance are sick of me being in a constant poor mood due to this. I've talked to management over and over again about how this child needs to leave the center. They don't want to get rid of him because he's got two siblings at the center so essentially it's a paycheck they can't afford to lose. When Aaron isn't at school I feel calm, in control, and valued. When Arron is at school, I am in constant fear of him hurting me or the other students. Im trying to consider my options moving forward. Obviously I could leave the center and go somewhere new. But I don't think that would be beneficial to anyone involved (my class, their parents, my co-teacher, the other staff, Aaron). Would what I've described be a hostile work environment? Ive also been told that I can contact CPS about this? But I have no physical evidence/physical marks outside of the cameras that document the entire day from multiple perspectives. The last three days are stored at all times. Then are wiped. Would this fall under something with the BBB? My fear is him going too far and one of the children being hospitalised under my supervision due to poor management. Please let me know what I can do! Thanks! TL;DR: Angry kid physically abuses teachers and students daily at daycare in VA. Management knows the issues and refuses to help. Who can/should I contact to keep myself out of trouble? What can I do to get the kid kicked out of the center before he goes too far? [link] [comments] |
(Washington- Minnesota) Help me resolve my vacation from hell. Posted: 29 Jun 2018 10:43 AM PDT Hello Reddit first time poster. So my GF and I have been planning a road trip to Seattle for months. we go to Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, the whole nine yards. on the night before we leave for home we get the amazing idea to take some edibles (I'm 20 shes 22, so she bought it and brought it back to the hotel) so I've never tried pot before (i figured our state would legalize it soon but i got antsy) and i decide to take 3 and a half. (which according to everyone who was in the county jail with me was way too much) and i freak the fuck out, i run outside naked, and am screaming at my girlfriend to wake me up. (i guess i thought i was dying and the only way to stop was for her to wake me up) eventually the cops come and they cuff me, and I come to in a padded cell. (scary as fuck because i thought i was dying and i believed wholeheartedly that i was in hell.) a day goes by and I ask what I'm charged with. (i thought i would get a minor in possession and get sent home with a fine but NOPE) a domestic violence in the 4th degree. I've never hit a woman in my life i wouldn't even dream about it. so 2 days since i was locked up go by and i go to my arrangement hearing . my GF gets up and pleads with the judge to NOT put a no-contact order on me. judge doesn't care and decides he wants to throw the book at me. my wonderful mom shows up and bails me out and we get the hell out of dodge. so my trial is in 2ish weeks how can i fight this and what can i do, please need help!!! TL:DR: i take some edibles and wake up in jail with a domestic violence 4th degree in an unfamiliar state with a GF (alleged victim) stating that it was a big misunderstanding and to let me go, and a judge who wants to jail me for a year HELP !!!!!!
