SoftBank invests 2.25B in GM Cruise. Posted: 31 May 2018 07:16 AM PDT Looks like the hype is right. Hype GM up 10+% on the news. [link] [comments] |
10,000 to invest in these stocks... Posted: 31 May 2018 07:41 AM PDT If you had 10k to invest today, which of these stocks would (or wouldn't) you buy: $AMZN, $AAXN, $BIDU, $FTNT, $IRBT, $NFLX, $PFPT, $TTWO. Or perhaps you'd buy a portion of all of them? I'd love to read your thoughts. To me, these stocks all seem like winners. They capitalize on the major market trends e.i growing home economy & entertainment and a declining high street, a need for cyber-security & consumer robotics. [link] [comments] |
Websites to look at fundamentals Posted: 31 May 2018 10:56 AM PDT Is there a list somewhere of good websites to view fundamentals. P/e, p/b, debt, dividend history, ect I enjoy using my brokers and marketwatch, but other than those two I haven't expanded. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2018 06:54 AM PDT With just how "undervalued" MU currently is, can someone explain why MS make this decision? [link] [comments] |
Why is everyone on this sub obsessed with MU? Posted: 30 May 2018 11:10 PM PDT Did a search for the reasoning but no luck. I notice it mentioned in practically every post [link] [comments] |
Following Hedgefunds, what do they see that I don't? Posted: 31 May 2018 11:47 AM PDT I'v started doing some analysis into hedgefund reports and trying to understand why they're investing in certain companies. http://www.dataroma.com/m/grid.php?s=q The chart above looks at acquisitions during the last quarter and companies with awful looking fundamentals or middle of the road numbers to stick out. Ones i'v specifically looked into: KMX and AIG Is this a good strategy to use and do these stocks look any more enticing to the average investor? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2018 11:43 AM PDT What is your thougth. Good time to load more or wait for more pull back? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2018 11:11 AM PDT I see that FTR has gone down about 60% for the last year, but they seem to constantly improving in their earnings (while it is still negative) for the last year. What is the reason for this huge decrease? disclaimer: I have no FTR holdings. Just wanted to learn and find out if it could be a worthy investment. [link] [comments] |
If Trump bans Luxury German cars.. Posted: 31 May 2018 08:58 AM PDT What will be the affect to the overall US stock market if this happens? Also all the jobs here that depend on these German companies..any insight? [link] [comments] |
What is your worst stock pick? Posted: 30 May 2018 07:41 PM PDT For me it is Volaris(VLRS), a discount airline based in Mexico. Bought it a few years ago in the low two digits and held for a year or two and sold it at no loss/no gain. The investment thesis I considered was that more Mexicans would travel by air rather than long and horrible travel by bus between cities. The airline had lots of potential and the idea seemed rational. Alas it did not work out that way for a variety of reasons. Currently VLRS trades in the $5 range. Another airline that failed investors similarly is Avianca Holdings SA (AVH) of Colombia. What is your pick that did not pan out? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2018 11:58 AM PDT ER tomorrow early AM, generally bullish sentiment and doing well. Any ideas why it has been going lower and now is dropping the day before ER? I have a 24 strike cash secured put expiring tomorrow, which I am ready to be assigned, but other appeal and retailers have done well so it doesn't seem to make sense and I don't see any reason for the sudden drop . . . Why Would American Steel (NYSE:X) Drop after good news!?? Posted: 31 May 2018 10:10 AM PDT I shorted X this morning, made a quick $490 profit. What i don't understand is why trumps news has any affect on US Steel (NYSE:X). Wouldn't his tariff announcement build better value for American Steel (X)? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2018 01:40 PM PDT Dipped slightly today after the FDA paused the trial. Thoughts on CRSP for the future? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2018 09:59 PM PDT I've been watching this stock for a while and have just seen it go up. The "Netflix of China" as they call it. I'm just wondering if it'll keep going up, it'd be crazy to see this get to NFLX's level. [link] [comments] |
LABD - possible short term gain? Posted: 31 May 2018 09:12 AM PDT Is the biomedical field too inflatted?, Anyone see a potential draw back to buy LABD for a short term gain? Betting against the market isn't really smart, but it is at an all time high and i guess for a reason but anyone see an opportunity here or not worth the risk? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2018 08:58 AM PDT I bought spy the other day. There hasn't been a lot of movement, just wondering what kind of advice I can get moving forward [link] [comments] |
Fellow Merrill Lynch users, is there a way to compare indexes with your account? Posted: 30 May 2018 11:42 PM PDT OTHER than using Cumulative time weighted returns? I want to see the spikes, the ups and downs, how I fared on particular days. All I can get is charts like this Yes part of the reason is for bragging. But I also want to be able to pinpoint how my hedging securities affected individual days. This doesnt allow for that at all. Also custom range only lets you pick months as far as I can tell, not days. This month when the market started to recover I greatly underperformed, I made some changes and the past week has been incredible. Yesterday I was actually up money due to some day trading(which I dont usually do, I prefer to swing trade but BABA at 197, and the whole financial sector looked too good to resist so I pulled the trigger. I was just wondering if Im missing some features which would allow me to see volatility rather than seeing my account in essentially an SMA. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2018 08:56 PM PDT can someone please tell me how 1.2 mil shares were sold at the bell by one individual and the stock price doesn't move. Educate me.. is their a video I can watch that can enlighten me? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2018 09:08 PM PDT If the US does impose tariffs on steel and aluminum do you all think it would cause a decent enough dip to invest in some steel and aluminum companies? If so which company's would you suggest to keep an eye on? Thanks for any input. U.S. Is Poised to Impose Steel and Aluminum Tariffs on European Union [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2018 04:07 PM PDT They got hit hard and tanked today...good time to buy in? The ruling against them is surely a temporary setback, huh? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2018 09:43 AM PDT MU vs INTC vs NVDA. Which one has the most upside potential 1, 5, 20 years down the line and why? Also, any other semi conductor stocks you might want to add but as a bonus. [link] [comments] |
KORS. Is there more room to fall ? Posted: 30 May 2018 10:22 PM PDT Today was brutal. Wondering if I should still hold on to the stock. I bought it a little more than a year ago at almost half the price. [link] [comments] |
