Posted: 29 Mar 2018 08:50 PM PDT What approach/approaches do you take when it comes to setting target prices for your securities? What is the rationale behind your preferred approach? As a novice investor, I set my target prices based on (a) P/E x EPS, (b) EBITDA x EV/EVITDA, and/or (c) consensus figures. And I would love to know how other investors approach valuation. Thanks! Reading on Semiconductor Industry Posted: 29 Mar 2018 06:31 AM PDT I know there was a post not too long back on some recommended reading on semis but I didn't find anything much. Anyone have any material on the background of the industry, cyclicality, valuations? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Mar 2018 06:00 PM PDT If a company doesnt account for an expense item on its 10-k income statement, is this grounds for fraud? For example, a company im looking at states "other expenses" usually 10-15% of ebt, but doesnt actually subtract it. Thus, this artificially increases NI obviously which makes their decreasing operative performance trend less dramatic than it really is. [link] [comments] |
Question about Operating Expenses Posted: 29 Mar 2018 09:56 AM PDT Do companies include nonrecurring expenses in SG&A expenses? Such as goodwill impairments, equity investment losses, etc. and are those adjusted for when calculating EBIT? [link] [comments] |
