Capital raise in Europe: discount and outweighing vs rights issue Posted: 29 Mar 2018 03:43 AM PDT If a large capital raise is undertaken by a European company (25-35% of shares outstanding), what discount can one expect to the share price? How does a company think about a cap raise vs a rights issue? Are key shareholders contacted to see their appetite for a rights issue? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Mar 2018 08:52 PM PDT Thinking of going and have heard the networking with other peers is better than the main event. For people who have went... is this true? If so, when do people usually arrive? Trying to figure out logistics. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Scenario: Lead-up to war, what are best stocks/resources to invest into? Posted: 28 Mar 2018 08:44 PM PDT This is apolitical. My years of reading and studying on the subject of international relations and war have gone a bit rusty, but the alarm is ringing with the recent appointment of John Bolton. Everything in me says we are about to go to war. My educated guess is sometime in the next 6 months. Call me crazy, but I see it happening. My question/discussion point is this: Where are the best places to invest if war is coming? While I loathe the possibility of profiting off of war, I'm not a decision-maker, merely an armchair quarterback. I don't feel the least bit bad making a small, honest profit from seeing this coming from a mile away. [link] [comments] |

Book recommendations for the Industrials sector? Posted: 28 Mar 2018 01:39 PM PDT Anyone have recommendations for good biographies / business and investing related books or other formats of reading related to the Industrials sector? [link] [comments] |

Book recommendations on the tech industry Posted: 28 Mar 2018 08:46 AM PDT As we move more and more into tech I was wondering if you guys have any book recommendations. I was thinking "Only the paranoid survive" by Andy Grove as one of the more important books to read as a value investor. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Mar 2018 03:30 PM PDT Everything I see in the Cohodes thesis is opaque and intangible; save for the previous concern relating to competitive pricing pressures (which doesn't appear to be taking place post the Lonestar West acquisition by CLH), why would this stock be an effective short at this level? thx [link] [comments] |
