Posted: 07 Mar 2018 02:16 PM PST Got in at the 8s. Extremely risky, this can get to 4 or 2 in a week but I sold over 12 last month on a day when all of my stocks were red. [link] [comments] |
Lam Research (LRCX) vs Micron (MU) - Which would you buy? Posted: 07 Mar 2018 05:38 PM PST Would really appreciate any ideas about these companies. [link] [comments] |
Wait for the moon, or scalp the market? Posted: 07 Mar 2018 12:37 PM PST Out of all the years you guys have been trading stocks. How many companies have you actually seen go to the Moon? Is it better to try and scalp the market or hold for a long period of time. Thanks everybody! I'm new to the stock market but in the little time that I have been here. I've noticed nothing ever goes straight up. It goes up down sideways and every other direction, just curious of some of the strategies you guys you use. [link] [comments] |
What do you think is a great stock to buy right now? Posted: 07 Mar 2018 04:10 PM PST What would be a great stock to buy now that's under valued/Has lots or room to grow or you just think will go up soon? Any stocks you'd buy now and hold for 2-3 months and then sell? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Mar 2018 01:59 PM PST Just wondering if anyone is aware of a way to get historical stock data. I find it pretty easy to find data from 1970 until now, but anything older is practically non existent. I specifically am looking for annual closing prices of JNJ,TD,RY back as far as I can possibly get. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Can someone mentor me on ARTX? Posted: 07 Mar 2018 10:01 AM PST I really like everything that this company is doing. Currently they are making money on their military simulation but spending more on battery research and development. I'm new to stocks and want to be cautious. I could use a mentor in general.... What do you guys think about VOO and SCHK? Posted: 07 Mar 2018 04:35 AM PST It seems as though VOO might be about to take a hit based on the below article. These two ETFs make up most of my portfolio - do you guys think I should hold for the long term? https://etfdailynews.com/2018/03/06/goldman-sachs-sees-sp-500-correction-coming-soon-voo/ [link] [comments] |
"life expectancy" of S&P 500 companies continues to fall Posted: 07 Mar 2018 03:15 AM PST The "life expectancy" of S&P companies has fallen from 33Y in 1990 to 20Y today, and is forecast to shrink to 14Y by 2026E. Up to 50% of S&P companies are set to be replaced in the next 10Y. Only 64 out of 1,600+ companies have been on the S&P 500 for 50Y. Dangers with investing in US stocks Posted: 07 Mar 2018 02:38 AM PST After having the money tied up elsewhere, I am thinking of bringing around $250K into the stock market. I plan at this stage to put a big portion in bonds. I did keep one ETF from a previous investment VGK (Vanguard FTSE Europe ETF) - that I purchased in Mar of 2007 for $72. The price now is around $59. I see in spite of the market turn around, I have still not recovered my original investment, and it is still even farther away than its peak of $82 in Oct 2007. Now let's look at a somewhat similar US equivalent. Sure there might be differences, but I think the comparison is telling. The US iShares Russell 3000 ETF (IWV) was also at its peak of almost $90 in Oct 2007, but now it is at the crazy price of $161.6. Everyone says that there is more value in foreign stock markets, but I rather doubt that my VGK ETF at $59 now will ever reach the $72 I paid for it, let alone reach its peak of $82. Something is horribly out of whack with the US Stock market. European markets are still around 20% of their peak 2007 levels, but the US market is miraculously trying to shoot for double its peak 2007 levels. And, the Euro is at similar levels now as 2007, and the yield on this Europe VGK is only 2.7%. It my opinion, it would be crazy now to consider putting money in US stocks as investment. Crazy speculation seems more accurate. If I had any money in stocks there, I would yank it now, or put a hard stop loss on everything. [link] [comments] |
