Adjusted for cost-of-living and all too.... and leave out anything with under a million people.

So what would fit this definition...Norway? Iceland? Ireland? Switzerland? Is that about it? I don't think Australia since it can be an expensive place and the per capita GDP is lower. Canadian per capita GDP is even lower.

    edit.. Down voted? Rude!!

Are front office jobs extra vulnerable in a recession?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2018 01:02 PM PST

I know there are some professionals on here who can answer this for me. I'm not a finance person by training but I've been offered a data analyst job on the trading floor of an IB. Obviously I want to take it because it pays a ton more than I make now, but it feels like we're due for a downturn any day (treasury yield curve inversion imminent, etc) and I don't want to set myself up to get laid off right away lol. Now go ahead and remind me "no job is safe in a recession", ok fine, but is it more dangerous to be in the finance industry than elsewhere?
