Protocol for reaching out to Dutch business partner after death of parent? Posted: 27 Mar 2018 08:31 PM PDT Hello, I am American and working with a small Dutch company for the development of a product. A few weeks ago the owner of the company told me that he was anticipating the death of a parent in the next week or so and indicated he might not be as available. He indicated that the death was expected (the parent had been living in a retirement home already for some time) but that he was in charge of managing the affairs. It has since been about 3 weeks and I am wondering what the correct protocol would be for reaching back out (we are awaiting the response of a 3rd party who was reviewing our project proposal, but he is managing communications with this 3rd party as he coordinated the contact with them and they are located in another European country). Would it be appropriate to call his office and ask his assistant how he is doing? I would like to send flowers but since I'm not sure if the parent has passed yet I wanted to check with the assistant before doing so. The parent is of South Asian descent, if it is culturally relevant at all. I would greatly appreciate any advice as to Dutch customs regarding death and business practices, and suggestions on the best way to proceed. Thank you reddit! [link] [comments] |

Have you Ever Dealt With A Shady Vendor? Posted: 27 Mar 2018 08:26 AM PDT We hire part time laborers when snow seasons comes around to help with shoveling during a storm. It's mostly because we only need help for that storm and see no need to go through the hiring process for it. We have used some temp companies that work out very well, but we have one that is very... shady.. Just everything about him is shady. He is basically a temp company but on a smaller scale as he is getting his business going. He has a tax number, accountant, bank, all that basic stuff to prove he is legit but I can't shake this feeling. Has anyone else dealt with this feeling? Where you right about it? What happened? Looking for advice about an email client for a small office Posted: 27 Mar 2018 08:47 AM PDT Hi folks, I run a 4 person business and am looking for a good email solution. Currently, all we're using is Gmail as a general inbox with label tags which isn't working out for us. I'd like to find an email client that we can use @"insert-our-website".com addresses and have everyone have individual email inboxes instead of sharing one general inbox which is a nightmare. any tips? thanks! Posted: 27 Mar 2018 12:32 PM PDT Hey, guys, I'm writing a school paper on tech founders that have a colorful history (Brian Chesky and his bodybuilding days), outrageous character (Sean Parker) or interesting stories/pictures from the past (Evan Spiegel and his BMW). Do you have any other examples that show that tech-founders are not all geeks? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
