Rant - stop coming into work when sick

It's really selfish, and it doesn't make you look like a better employee, especially when you have the ability to work from home.

Is it worth taking a title cut from manager to associate but with a 40% increase in pay?

    Posted: 28 Mar 2018 09:04 PM PDT

Let's say you are a manager at a big 4 firm. If you receive a job offer where your title is reduced to an associate but your overall total compensation is increased by 45%, would you take the offer?

Didn't see one of these. I know the Wednesday exams are all over already, but you've got 3 weeks until results! Good luck! And to all my fellow writers tomorrow! Crush it!

Holy shit. Never realize that work-life integration is such a thing. 8 AM - 5 PM, and the freedom is mine afterwards. On the flip side, though, the pace is slow as hell compared to public. Happy hours and hot babes are nonexistent. Oh well. You win some, you lose some.

    Whistleblower Advise

    Posted: 28 Mar 2018 05:35 PM PDT

I have a client that was involved in a tax shelter. In this tax shelter entity, it reported deductions of around 40 million. The total tax evaded through the partners is around 12-15 million. Does anyone have any advise besides seeking a Qui tam attorney? I'm currently a CPA, tax manager at a local 20 employee firm. Thoughts?

    Private Equity Fund Accounting

    Posted: 28 Mar 2018 03:44 PM PDT

Does anyone here work or has worked in private equity fund accounting? I've been in tax for a few years now and recently have been engaged in some interviews with a Private Equity Fund firm. I don't have a lot of background on what the job does exactly so I wanted to see if anyone could provide some more insight.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2018 05:23 PM PDT

How can I possibly review one module in becker for a week with a full time job? Taking BEC 2nd week of May. It just seems so impossible understanding and learning all the topic in just a small span of time. Any advice?

Not feeling auditing, any alternatives that could still potentially lead to a similar salary progression with just a Bachelors in Accounting?

    Posted: 28 Mar 2018 06:31 PM PDT

Finished my audit internship last week at a mid-tier national (Top 10 firm) and thought the work was boring and depressing. The hours suck (according to the full timers, we were capped at 40) and the first year pay isn't enticing considering you need a Masters/extra year of college to get 150 to start full time. What are my alternatives if I get my Accounting undergrad a year from now and would want to start working with just that and maybe do my 150 and CPA over a few years? Is consulting or FA a viable option? It would also be nice if I could know some salary figures if I chose this path :)
