How do we account for Jesus paying for our sins?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2018 06:30 PM PDT

Would Jesus's journal entry be a debit to salvation payable and a credit to souls redeemable?

I'm in my senior year of accounting and I still feel like I don't know the basics. Honestly this stuff is so monotonous. I forget just about everything I study within a week. How screwed am I going into the real world?

    Canceling Big 4 Offer

    Posted: 30 Mar 2018 01:24 PM PDT

    Hi Everyone,

A few months ago I received a full-time job offer at a big 4. Due to my excitement and interest, I signed the offer immediately. However, my family has to relocate for personal reasons and I will not be able to work with the firm anymore. Is there etiquette for quitting before I start? I feel really bad about this and don't want to burn any bridges.

Social anxiety and lack of people skills

    Posted: 30 Mar 2018 08:39 AM PDT

How do you deal with it? You see, I did all the things they told me. Be active in extracurricular activities, join competitions, intern in big 4, talk more with people. I did all that shit. But I'm still awkward af. To make it worse I just started working in audit, not a big 4 tho. I'm in a small firm and I have to handle multiple clients on my own. I can't seem to talk to the clients without stuttering, while my colleague who joined the same day as I did can do it with no problem. Oh and I've always been slow at learning practical things. I've been like this since forever. Why am I the way I am?

Does anyone know the Coleco property dividend story?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2018 07:20 AM PDT

My intermediate accounting professor tells a story of a time when Coleco was stuck with a huge amount of surplus Cabbage Patch Kids inventory, so they declared a property dividend and sent Cabbage Patch Kids to their investors.

Did this actually happen? Does anyone have a link to a story?

Worth attempting CPA exams with no experience?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2018 06:35 PM PDT

I graduated in May of 2016 with a BS in Accountancy and a good GPA (3.8). I never found a job in accounting so I've been working retail for the past two years and am getting sick of it and looking for a change.

I have around $15k saved up and I was wondering if it would be worth it for me to pay for a CPA prep course, finish off my 150 credits (currently have 143), and take the CPA exams?

Would I even be hireable after the fact? Obviously not Big 4, but what about mid-tier and local firms? I'm trying to gauge whether this would all be worth it in the end. I know the obvious answer is "MACC MACC MACC" but ... I ain't paying no $25k... so I'm exploring other options. Thanks for any advice.

Do externships lead to a job?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2018 01:14 PM PDT

Never even knew what an externship was but applied and got accepted for a one-day externship for next week at a financial/accounting company. Do they hire if you do good? What's supposed to happen? Is it something I can put on my resume/linkedin? I have no clue what the purpose of it is. I haven't gotten anything else so obviously I'm going but just curious what this means other than a "learning experience."
