Can anyone shed some light on why there has been a negative move in the stock market this week?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 07:04 AM PST

I'm newer to the stock market and would love to hear people's views on why the stock market has dropped this week overall? Is it due to NAFTA discussions, profit taking, or other factors? Also if you don't mind sharing how you came up with your view or sources you use for research, that would be awesome!

NFLX.. I just don't get it, it's the cock roach that could survive a nuclear blast.

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 11:54 AM PST

Wouldn't you know, NFLX is actually UP today. Maybe I'm a little salty because I sold at $205 but I just don't see how this company is worth 100x forward P/E. They are a one trick pony and not a huge tech conglomerate like the AAPLs, Google and FBs of the world.

Why does this thing keep going up? I mean if it's not down on a day like today, then it begs the question. Is this stock in just a permanent trajectory upward?

Where are we now on GOOGL?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 10:30 AM PST

At the risk of sounding knee-jerky i have GOOGL as a long term hold, however the recent earnings report has me worried. Are we still considering GOOGL a strong buy, or have our expectations been muted?

Anyone's take on WMT and INTL

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 11:58 AM PST

Hello. I have been invested in these two companies for a few months now and I am happy with these picks. Btw I am a new investor and I just wanted to hear other peoples takes on these companies and their stocks. Intel jumped after earnings but now is slowly going back down. Is this a regular trend? Any thing else is appreciated.

This is why Alibaba has been spending a lot of money and I AIN'T worry!

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 11:49 AM PST

    Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsN922I8c5M

Jack Ma is the think long term type of guy.

You keep on seeing Alibaba investing in other companies:

Most recent example: Alibaba leads new $300M round for India's top online grocer.

Stay calm and buy the $BABA dip.

Do you short? What do you look for?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2018 08:39 PM PST

I'm not a short seller, have only done it 3 times on RadioShack, Best Buy, and frontier communications. Modest shorts, but they worked well and I had gains.

Just curious to what legit short sellers look for when they short, and what are some of your hits n misses.

Is it okay to only invest in VOO?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 10:08 AM PST

I don't really want to invest that much. I just want to put money where it will grow slowly overtime. Just started my first full time job and I don't want money to be just sitting around in my bank account.

    Visa

    Posted: 01 Feb 2018 06:21 PM PST

Visa had a solid earnings report, but also had some people skeptical because they foresee higher expenses this year. As a result, shares dropped a little bit in the after market. Do you guys think this news is a big concern for Visa?

    Thanks for any insight

Short $EEFT – Euronet To Drop 50-60% On Latest DCC Developments

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 12:23 PM PST

    Summary

    • As much as 30-40% of Euronet's profits and EBITDA are generated solely by DCC revenues with ultra high margins. The sell side has largely missed this entirely.

    • During 2017, scathing public criticism erupted from a wide array of journalists, travel advisers and celebrity TV hosts, directly alleging Euronet "fraud", "rips offs" and "scams" with DCC Evidence posted in photos, screenshots and videos.

    • Multiple independent investigations then concluded specifically that "DCC should be banned"

    • Following the public scrutiny, a wide range of Euronet insiders began aggressively dumping their shares (and just ahead of a key vote in November 2017 by the EU Parliament)

    • Since then, EU legislation covering DCC has passed multiple key milestones.

    • Final regulations are set to be passed by June 2018

    • Euronet trades on a steep premium to peers because of perceived growth prospects. Any reassessment will see disproportionate downside to the share price

So what may happen to US T Bonds?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 12:06 PM PST

In case bond market collapses and yields go up, then US government will end up paying much more interest on US enormous debt. I think that they are first who should try stop it. Or they will just print money and carry on. What do you think?

    Stock's Historical Financial Data

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 11:28 AM PST

Is there a website or app that lets you track a stock's financial data from the past?

For example, if I wanted to find out Microsoft's P/E, E/V to EBITDA, etc. from April 2013, where I could go to retrieve such datasets?

    Thank you.

    Alibaba.. Shocker!

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 11:07 AM PST

After getting beat down after missing EPS by just .2 cents and beating revenue expectations here come all the upgrades.. These analysts are so unpredictable aren't they?

Raymond James PT raised from $220 to $240 Stifel Nicolaus PT raised from $230 to $260 MKM Partners PT raised from $220 to $260

Short-Sellers made billions yesterday on the drop, but for those who are patient it'll all be fine in the end. Use this as a buying opportunity

    BioTech good or bad?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 10:46 AM PST

I'm new to stocks but I have been tracking bio tech for the past few weeks, specifically $CRSP $NTLA $EDIT. There seemed to have been a big spike in late December and early January but now it's been going down. I'm looking for long term investments as i am young and not too worried about dips in market since I'm in it for the long haul. Would an investment in these companies be wise? Is there signs of potential future spikes?
