Update: A girl I knew from high school is accusing me of sexual assault. Posted: 02 Jan 2018 08:33 AM PST I followed the advice given to me here, and I spoke to an attorney that drafted an official letter to send her to cease and desist. She did nothing, and doubled down on me being a "rapist". Somehow she contacted my workplace, and got me fired. My wife has left me, and took our children. She is afraid of what "I might be capable of", all our years of marriage be damned. Times this Christmas were very dark... Fortunately, my attorney called me days ago to inform that he will proceed with "step 2", and push a lawsuit against her. Like someone stated in my past post, Washington's laws might help make a victory possible. I'm hoping something will come of this. I don't want her to get away with this. Thanks for all the help, and I will keep the sub posted. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jan 2018 01:11 AM PST This has been ongoing for the 4+ years that we've lived here. The older lady downstairs hears noises at night and immediately blames us, bangs on her ceiling waking us up. I tried talking to her about it, and she just starts yelling at me. It's a large 12 floor building, there are a lot of noises and neighbors. Our apartments are next to the elevator shaft, so a lot of sounds carry. She refuses to believe me. I've reported her to the property management team dozens of times and they say that they talk to her, but it won't help. I've called the police, but she won't answer the door when they come by. What are my options? What can I do? I've got to be up in 4 hours for work and can't get back to sleep because my heart is racing from being suddenly woken by a loud banging. [link] [comments] |
My sister traded in my car without my consent (Illinois)... Posted: 02 Jan 2018 09:14 AM PST I bought my sister a car a few years ago and last week I found out she traded it into a dealership for a new car. Her new car isn't of a concern to me, but the fact that she was able to trade in a car that isn't in her name to a dealership blows my mind. The dealership even came and collected my car from her house. Is this legal? I'm about to call the dealership and find out deal was made and if I can get the car back to try and sell to a private party since she hasn't paid me in several years and I'd like to recoup some of my lost money. edit: the car is paid off and titled in my name. edit 2: the car is mine...she just drove it. 100% in my name and I'd like to avoid legal trouble for her since she has 3 kids and already a boat load of other issues. Posted: 02 Jan 2018 05:37 AM PST My sister and her husband (both early 30s) were both raised in and continue to participate in a religious cult, the kind that stands on corners distributing pamphlets and sing songs about the coming destruction of all non-members during their multiple weekly religious meetings. They are isolationist, demanding absolutely minimal interaction with outsiders, typically home school their children, and strongly discourage education. Medical treatment and mental health treatment are discouraged, if not considered the work of Satan himself. They also practice extreme submission of women to the men. All that said, this group manages to seem like "nice people" to many outsiders who have no experience with them. I really fear for what a child, especially one that is likely going through a difficult time in their life would be exposed to. They live in a very rural area, on a plot of dozens of acres that has many of the family's homes scattered about. Is there anything I can do? These people excel at putting on normal facade. I don't know where to start. [link] [comments] |
Roommate robbed me blind, down to the last sock. Posted: 02 Jan 2018 03:31 AM PST Hi guys, I reside in NYC. A year ago I made a big mistake by allowing a roommate into my life and have been living in hell ever since. The chain of events goes like this: I took him in to live with me in my studio apartment. He stayed in the bedroom, I took the living room. About a week after, he invited his girlfriend to live with him without my permission. They both squatted in my bedroom up until last week when they disappeared. Aside from the first month's rent, they never paid me a single cent for rent or their share of the utilities for a little over a year. Why? He found out rather quickly (by swiping the monthly statement from under the door) that I was unable to have him evicted in a legal manner because I too was not listed on the lease, I was living in the apartment under my friend's lease who moved out of country and was unable to return to help me at the time. The "squat-leader", as I'll refer to him right away assumed a position of power. He created mass-amounts of correspondence to his and his girlfriends name to the address. He tried to take over the gas/electric bill as well but I managed to stop that in time. He was on the phone with the landlord everyday trying desperatly to have the lease corrected to his name so he could get me out of the picture. Reason being, the rent was cheap, way too cheap for a NYC apartment and he wanted to get it for himself. I did not want to lose the apartment, so I put up with the abuse and paid the rent/utilities in full for over a year. I was waiting for my friend to come back to help me evict them. About 2 months ago, they invited a 3rd party to join the squat fest, he was a heroin addict to boot. A few days after I arrived home to find the locks changed (I later found out, they made an agreement with the heroin addict to rent him my living room). They decided to get rid of me all together. I called the police and they were all arrested for performing an illegal lockout as I was able to show the police evidence that I resided in the apartment. During the arrest, I found out they claimed to have also moved all of my belongings to some storage facility to the police and told them I never actually lived there. They were released from jail the next morning as the D.A. told me, there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute. I was not able to get back into my apartment ever since that illegal lockout. When they came back from jail they refused to let me back in or remove the lock. I opened an illegal lockout petition myself which dragged on for two months while staying at my mom's apartment. The squatters kept adjourning the case for various reasons and making motions to show cause whenever I got court orders to get back in which put my court orders on pause. For example, I was almost arrested once while drilling open the lock with a court order in hand, they called the police and claimed someone was trying to break in. The police arrived like wild dogs and without asking a single question I was on the ground cuffed and having my penis groped. I had to tell them 3x that I have a court order to do this before their adrenaline rush came down and one of them took me serious. While the police were going over my court order, the main squat-leader came out of the elevator (how convenient) and showed the police a motion to show cause which once again temporarily nullified my court order. The police told me to go back to court and not to come back here until, else I'd be arrested for breaking and entering. I told them I need to see if my stuff is still in there and get some belongings at least. The police asked the squat-leader to open the door, he produced the wrong key deliberately (I know because I've become a bit of an expert on locks throughout this whole ordeal, and the MUL-T-LOCK installed uses a key with a blue cap, his key had a black cap). The key wouldn't even enter the keyhole and he said, "I can't get it in, he drilled the lock and damaged it" despite me drilling nowhere near the keyhole. This made the police mad and they told me that I'm now liable for the cost of a locksmith to have them get back into my apartment. I'm getting mad just writing this.. anyway all of that is in the past now. What happened recently is, my friend came back and opened a holdover petition. I had them all served (it wasn't easy..) they had 30 days to vacate. On the 28th day of the notice to vacate, I finally secured a final court order to get back in the premises in the illegal lockout case. The squat-leader tried to motion to show cause once more, but this time was denied. He opened an appeal against the judge's decision (to which he never showed up). The final order stated that I am to regain possession of the premises immediately by any legal means necessary, and the squat-leader and his girlfriend are to return all of my belongings back to the premises by 5pm the next day. I went back to my apartment the next day, drill in hand and finally opened up the door only to find the place completely empty, down to the last sock. I had a little over $10,000 worth of belongings there. I called the squat-leader and told him to bring back my stuff. He completely ignored me and just said, you wanted me out, im out now leave me alone. It's been about a month now, I want to take the squat-leader and his girlfriend back to court regarding violating the court order to return my possessions but I'm at a loss on how to proceed. The police could easily track him down via plate scanners, he works for Uber and would get plate scanned within days but they won't arrest him without a warrant. As far as I know, they can't even get an arrest warrant as this was a civil matter. Any advice would be much appreciated. Hope you all had a happy new years. [link] [comments] |
Suspended from my HS over a bathroom issue-NJ Posted: 02 Jan 2018 08:33 AM PST Little bit of backstory: My school is a really messed up one. Due to a kid writing bomb threats(4 years ago, in middle school) they now keep every bathroom locked up in HS/MS. You have to get a pass, then sign the sign-in sheet with a hall monitor at the bathroom. They only let one kid in at a time..... So I was suspended for 6 days OSS last week from my high school. Our school does block schedule so generally our classes last for an hour and twenty minutes. I was in class in the middle of the day, right after lunch, when 15 minutes into class I really had to pee. Well my teacher was being an absolute PITA like usual and refused to let me go despite begging her. Finally after 30 minutes of trying to hold it I got up and asked her again. She yelled at me "no, I don't care if you piss your pants and people laugh". 5-10 mins later I said forget this and got up to leave and she blocked the door with her body, threatening me if I tried to get around her with her foot raised to kick at me Long story short, I peed in the trash can in the corner because I could not hold it any longer. I have zero regrets or shame for what I did and have proudly boasted about it. There's just been way to many instances of kids pissing/shitting themselves due to a high number of teachers forbidding the use of the bathroom during an hour and twenty some odd minute class. Do I have any way to get this suspension over turned and a change made to the bathroom policy? TL;DR: Teacher's force students to hold it for hour and a half, give detentions/recommend ISS to kids who leave class because they cant hold it. Edit: We are forced to hold it in for an hour and a half but almost all of the teachers with a no bathroom rule make a point of going to the bathroom in the middle of the classes after lunch. We had a girl run out in tears desperately trying to make it to the bathroom so she didn't turn her white jeans to brown pants. Edit 2: I understand I am in the wrong here and I full accept that. I even told the principal I know I was wrong but what other option did I have? It was either push past the teacher and have her scream assault and have a criminal record( I am a 6'5", 180lbs and a varsity athlete so I am strong and in shape, she is 5'4" and 120lbs, I wouldn't have tried to move her out of fear of hurting her) or use the trash can in the corner where people can only see my back =/ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jan 2018 06:08 PM PST TSA rules dictate that a firearm should be in a hard locked case with locks that the TSA cannot open. https://www.tsa.gov/travel/transporting-firearms-and-ammunition I used a hard sided pelican case with two abloy 330 locks that follow the law. Here is the part where they say only they can open it with the key or ask me to open it "Only the passenger should retain the key or combination to the lock unless TSA personnel request the key to open the firearm container to ensure compliance with TSA regulations." I was paged at the gate to return the ticketing desk. I immediately got up and walked to the ticketing desk and the southwest person called TSA. 20 minutes later TSA called back and said everything was good and I could go. I went through security again and went on my flight. I never saw my case, never opened it for them, never was told why I was paged. This was all yesterday. Today I called to file a complaint because when I got in there were visible scratches and marks where they pulled the pins out of my pelican case and a pamphlet was inside saying they inspected my case... all without me present or notified. Someone had access to my guns and pulled them out of my case. https://imgur.com/a/Uyc8P I was called by the TSA today and they told me that the package was flagged because it tested positive for something. I was told they paged me and after 15 minutes they began opening the case without me... My cell phone number is on the case, it's carved into it. There is a label on it. And if I was at the end of the terminal I couldn't reach the ticketing desk in 15 minutes unless I was in a flat out sprint. So does anyone know what specific laws they broke or can point me in the direction to figure this out? Everything I've read has said the TSA cannot take possession of a firearm without your knowledge and they clearly did this. I live in Texas, this happened at Detroit airport. Traveled with this case and firearms before without issue. [link] [comments] |

"Collector" calling me about fathers legal issues Posted: 02 Jan 2018 11:29 AM PST Pennsyvainia, USA I have a very rude and invasive person calling me about my father's debt. After screening his calls he called from a local number and refused to send me a verification report and hung up, then sent me the following message: i have no idea what you demand, not a consumer collector nor obligated under FDCPA. I have asked for a call over legal issues. either we can talk or you can make pointless demands and threats that will not deter anything. choice is your my friend How much could this actually effect him and how can I get this guy to stop calling our place of work and family? Also my understanding of this debt is that he owes it due to costs of a business he used to own and run, and much if not all of it is owed to the IRS [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jan 2018 05:46 AM PST I do not have a recording of the phone call I last had with Comcast about a year ago when I specifically asked if this was a promotional rate and was clearly told "No, it's not, you're paying $60/month for broadband and cable TV but you have to keep the cable tv box and can't turn it in." Then last month I get charged $77 and this month $104 before making an unpleasant phone call and reducing my internet speed to get a "promotional rate" for $72 for 12 months. With luck I'll have moved out in a few months. Is there anything I can do other than move to a place with actual broadband competition in the neighbourhood/condo building? Thank you. Dog abuse committed by my good friends, maybe even me?? Posted: 02 Jan 2018 07:52 AM PST [IN] Hi, I'm coming from r/MorbidQuestions because I was told that it was serious enough to get the authorities involved, but I want to make sure everything is illegal and what-not before, which I why I was directed here. I've never used this sub before so I apologize if there are formatting issues. I'm going to explain a lot, but I need help legally about this. 2 of my closest friends (let's say their names are O and T) recently got an absolutely adorable puppy. I don't know the exact type, but he's about 7 inches tall, about 2-3 months old, dark brown, and is one of the types of dogs that will stay "puppy-size" forever. I've come here because I think there is some physical and mental abuse done to the puppy. There has been multiple accounts of the dog getting strangled by T, picked up about 5 feet and dropped, instances of the puppy being crushed when held tightly. O has admitted to 'accidentally' hurting the puppy by pushing it around and making it hit corners off walls and desks, both owners pointed BB guns directly at the puppy and, even without checking it was loaded, pretended to shoot the dog in the face. Some of my bigger concerns is how much drug use is around the puppy. At least 3 reported times of them getting the puppy high off marijuana, but whenever they smoke just regularly (I am also included in this) the dog is always in the same room and easily exposed to the smoke. It's a constant joke about "getting the puppy high" and I've seen and participated in doing it before. (unaware it could do serious damage to them until after the fact, which I have not since acted on trying to do it). Perhaps the most disturbing thing to me that they do, is the psychological abuse, if it even is that. Now, F (the puppy), he's hyper and he acts up, but he's just that, a puppy. But one of the last times I went over there, there were 5 of us, and we were all playing with F (Puppy's name) and we just started out just messing around and having a good time with him. Then we started all whispering his name all across the room. This immediately upset the dog and he became very wild and barking much much more than usual, and so I stopped but the owner kept telling all of us to do it, even after it was upsetting the dog. I did it a little bit but felt extremely uncomfortable. We did this to him for about a minute, just constantly whispering his name and nothing more, and immediately after he went to the bathroom numerous times inside the house, barking absolutely crazy, knocking things over, he seemed like he was in just complete distress. I'm not anywhere near an expert on dogs, but obviously whispering his name is something he clearly doesn't like. And so I told my friends that, like, hey, maybe let's not torment your 3 month old puppy. But instead they keep doing it. I don't know what to do. That puppy deserves to not be treated as such, and everytime I go over there I witness some sort of minor abuse like that. There's nothing I can do legally as of right now to try and protect the dog, and since the first related incident of us all saying his name, every time I go over there they are still doing it, even after I've told them numerous times how bad it can be. Can someone with more expertize on this subject help me figure out what to do. I'm at the point where I don't care what happens to my friends, especially if they are abusing an animal in the process. Friends don't abuse cute adorable puppies. [link] [comments] |
How to respond to large bill from a big law firm that "dropped the ball"? Posted: 02 Jan 2018 06:25 AM PST On a friends recommendation I emailed a law firm regarding estate planning. A teleconference was set up in which I agreed to pay $7k for this firm to prepare and deliver the necessary documents "in a week or two". About a month later I sent a couple emails inquiring about the status of my documents...no response. My third email said I'd decided to part company...this resulted in an immediate email and call from the firm. Their response was too little too late. I'd lost confidence in them and wanted out. In the phone call I offered to pay their out of pocket expenses, but they never said yes, or no. About 2 months later my bill arrives for over $4k. How should I respond? [link] [comments] |
(TX) It's below freezing, and corporate turned off heating at my work. Posted: 02 Jan 2018 09:17 AM PST Throwaway because I don't want to be recognized. I work in retail. It's currently below freezing in my area in Texas. Corporate turned off the heating in our store. When I asked my manager about it she shrugged and said there's nothing she can do, which is fine for her because she has a space heater in her office. Right now I can't feel my feet. One of my coworkers is diabetic and has circulation problems which are made worse by cold and I'm worried for her. They've done this before. In summer when it's gotten over 100 degrees they've turned off the air conditioning. Manager brought in a fan for her office but she told the rest of us to deal with it and stop complaining. What can I do? If I report it (who could I report it to and how?), can I stay anonymous? I can't afford to lose my job. Does this count as an unsafe working environment, especially in summer since someone could get heat stroke? Don't they have a duty of care to us for a safe working environment? [link] [comments] |
Suspecting shop employee of stealing my purchase Posted: 02 Jan 2018 08:06 AM PST Recently I went to a jewelery shop in the mall called Pandora where they sell little charms for bracelets. I bought my girlfriend a $50 charm the size of a nickel. As the employee was wrapping my gift, she was acting shifty saying she's wiping my purchase for me and I can go ahead and pay. I didn't think anything off it. Two days later, I gave my girlfriend the gift. To our surprise, the charm wasn't in there. The bag, tissue paper, smaller box, and tissue paper in that smaller box was all there so it couldn't have fallen out. What is my best course of action on accusing the employee? Talk to the manager? Talk to the police? [link] [comments] |
Maintenance Worker Stole from Apartment Posted: 01 Jan 2018 07:10 PM PST This all happened in Massachusetts. A couple of days before Christmas maintenance workers entered my apartment to replace an appliance. I had given the landlord permission for them to enter with no one home since I had to work that day. Upon return from work I noticed a laptop was missing from the apartment. I filed a police report and emailed the landlord about it already. I know its unlikely I'll ever get the computer back but how do I make sure these maintenance workers don't have access to the apartment anymore? There's security footage from a camera that shows one of the maintenance workers going through the tv stand and looking at all the electronics. There's also video of them letting someone they didn't know into the apartment. Unfortunately the theft wasn't caught on camera since the worker that was rifling through my things found it and turned it away. They also left open beer containers in the apartment. The landlord called me the day after he received my email to explain that the maintenance worker in charge was going to call me to resolve this issue. I never received that call, instead I came home from work to find out that the maintenance workers had come back into the apartment hours before to clean up anything they left behind, this is also on video. They didn't give any notice that they were going to come that day and no repairs or reviews were scheduled. It's expressly written in my lease that reasonable notice must be given before the landlord or his employees enter the apartment. Also all this happened because maintenance failed to show up three times prior when they said they would, when someone was home. Overall it took 2 months two get this appliance replaced since maintenance was extremely unresponsive to my calls. Any advice is appreciated, thanks. [link] [comments] |

Have been paying ex-girlfriend's loan, now she wants the items back. [Western Australia] Posted: 02 Jan 2018 04:27 AM PST December 2016, my ex-girlfriend got a $4,000 loan (paid over 2 years) to purchase a TV, Couch and Fridge, in her name, which we agreed to pay off together. Split payments were made up until May 2017 (When we seperated) and when she left, she could not take the items with her. She asked that I continued to pay the items off, until they were finished. Up until today (2nd Jan 2018) I have been paying off these items, and today I received a message saying she will be taking legal action against me, because now she wants the items back. During the course of this loan, I have paid ~$1300 towards the owing amount. Where do I stand? Can I ask to be reimbursed the $1300 I have contributed to her credit loan in exchange for the goods? Do I need to seek legal aid? Do I have a fighting chance at all? Thanks. (Edit: typos) [link] [comments] |
online shop with good reviews has been basically holding my order for ransom, feeling stuck (CA) Posted: 02 Jan 2018 06:54 AM PST I manage a small retail shop and ordered about $500 worth of products from a wholesale online shop in California in July 2017. I asked prior to the order if they were able to ship with USPS to a specific location (think - non-continental U.S. but still part of "the U.S"). I gave the business license, address, with zip code and everything. They said yes, great! I place the order... $50 was already allocated as "weight-based" shipping charges. Then after the order, the owner says they won't ship unless I pay $100 more... "100 dolor" [sic] more he says. I have ordered from other companies that charge less for much larger orders. I have shipped myself possibly heavier boxes for less than $60. When I ask to provide the weight or any proof of why my order would cost that much to ship,I get no reply. When I offer to order less and just allocate the difference for shipping, he ended up trying to be the nice business man and tells me it's fine, he will pay out of pocket. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He said he shipped already in October 2017. In December, after waiting a couple months, I still have not received anything so I contact the owner again and he claims he's sent it but can't provide any proof or receipt. A few emails later of no reply, he then again requests that I pay $100 for shipping and he will send. It is January 2018 now, he has stopped replying... His company's google and Yelp reviews about his local business seem positive.. A couple of the reviews look like they're from himself, but he has enough 5 star reviews to make it look like his company isn't shady. It's so strange... Any advice? [link] [comments] |
Person Who Hit My Car is Trying to Get Out of Paying Posted: 02 Jan 2018 07:43 AM PST Last month (12/2) someone backed into my car when leaving a holiday party. My car was parked in a driveway. My girlfriend knew the person and she let me take a picture of her insurance papers and license plate. It was very late and since my girlfriend knew the person and they had full coverage insurance I figured we would just get it sorted out in the morning. So we didn't file a police report. It turned out that it was that person's grandparents car and they wanted me to get an estimate, so I did. ~$4400 in damages. They thought I was lying so they got in contact with a repair shop themselves and confirmed the number. They have since been trying to get out of paying. The grandparents that is. I contacted their insurance company ~2/3 weeks ago and got things started. They said they needed to take a statement from their insured party and then they would need to come interview me and look at the vehicle. They said would call me back in a few days. They didn't so I called them 3 days later. They told me a claim had been filed and gave me the person who's in charge of my claim and the claim number. They said he would call me in about 2 days. He didn't so I called him after 3 days. He didn't answer then, or later that day. The next day I noticed the end of his voicemail message stated he would be out of office until today, (1/2). I called today and he still didn't answer so I pressed the button for immediate help from another person. I gave that person the claim number and they said they were waiting for a statement from their insured party. Which is what they were doing almost a month ago. They said they called and sent letters. They basically were saying that if they don't get a response from them that there's nothing they will do. There were several witnesses there that night. Am I screwed since I didn't make a police report the night of? Or can I still make one? If I can how do I go about it? Do I need to go to the police station that's for the area where the incident happened or my local police station? This happened in Indiana but I am currently in Ohio. [link] [comments] |
Driving School Instructor threatened to sue us & searched our bags (Maryland) Posted: 02 Jan 2018 09:08 AM PST The Maryland MVA requires 30 hours of driving school along with six hours of behind-the-wheel driver's ed for a license. I paid for driver's ed at this school, which is MVA-accredited, but on day one the teacher couldn't find one copy of a quiz she had handed out to us (the school's policy is apparently that no test materials are to leave the premises). She freaked out in front of the whole class, screamed at us & called us scammers, told us she would be reviewing footage of the security cameras she had in the classroom, and told us that she would be in contact with her lawyer. After class, she stood between us and the exit and told us she would be searching all of our bags before we left. I'm pretty sure I could have refused a search and just called the police, but I hadn't taken anything and just wanted to go home so I went along with it. Obviously she didn't find anything in my handbag or anyone else's, but she said that she would find the person responsible and expel them from the school. I can't show the exact policies in the contract we signed, as they took the contract back after we signed it and they insist that the contract must remain on the premises as well. While getting screamed at is super stressful, this class is only for two weeks, and my priority is just to get driver's ed over with. My questions are: Do I have to submit to a search of my stuff, or should I just have walked past her/ called the police? Can they refuse to give me a copy of the contract? If I wanted to quit this class, would I be entitled to a refund? [link] [comments] |
Nanny in private home. Nanny cam in bathroom? Posted: 02 Jan 2018 07:53 AM PST My friend is a nanny in a private home for a young child. The parents have nanny cams (although I believe they are like NEST security cams) in basically every room which is overboard but whatever. Recently they installed one of the cameras in the only bathroom in the home. She works at the home all day and since it is winter, does not usually leave the home with the child. The camera being in the bathroom has caused her great distress and she is not sure what to do about it. Is it legal for them to watch her everywhere in their home? Sorry location is Virginia [link] [comments] |
(Texas) What would be affected by the father of my child voluntarily surrendering his rights? Posted: 02 Jan 2018 07:48 AM PST As said in the title the father of my child is considering surrendering his rights voluntarily and I'm worried about the repercussions. If I were to end up the sole custody holder would I need to legally enforce a kind of back up custody holder for if anything were to happen to me? Questions like that are what is worrying me. I already understand my right to ask for child support would be gone. If anyone has any insight on this issue I'd be very grateful. [link] [comments] |
(NV) Family member fell at my home while watching over home, broke hip and femur. Posted: 02 Jan 2018 05:15 AM PST I am seeking advice as to how best to handle this situation. I had a close family member come from out of state to take care of my property while away on business and fell and had a fairly severe injury. Should the individual whom fell work directly with the agent of the insurance company at this point or should they seek representation? They were retired at time of injury and have been unable to return home for over 90 days at this point. Most of the fees have been covered by medicare/medicade? However, now the amount of time for exempt hospitalization is now gone. Thank you in advance for any help, hopefully I have provided enough details. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jan 2018 05:13 AM PST So. This is kind of spooky. Today, I was playing a match of DotA2 and someone started to talk trash to me and my boyfriend and me being rather silly I replied. So after countless insults were traded, we entered another match and I got a discord message from him. Apparently, he had posted a craigslist ad out willing to pay 150 dollars to anyone who can find more info on me. So theres already that, which spooks me and then he also claimed he had a gun which he was willing to use. So is there actually any way I can press charges? Is this something that I can even press charges for? Like I'm really spooked. I live in California by the way. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jan 2018 08:05 AM PST TL:DR I've already gotten past the initial fear and am just flat out tired of this crap. My wife is literally scared. We've decided to not allow our sons to play in our front yard or culdesac (which they love to do). New neighbors are ruthless and I'm at the point of wanting to lawyer up if any of them touch my children.
My kids are 9/10. NeighborKids are ~6 & ~8, I'm just guessing here. NeighborDad is not often home, NeighborMom works daytime and Grandmother usually watches kids. . Before these people moved in everything was peaceful. When they moved in I walked over to introduce myself and offer to help them move. They didn't need help. . NeighborKids have a habit of HATING when they get "out" in a game or any thing that they dont like happens. At one point older NeighborKid swung a bat at my kids head, multiple kids said this happened. When i confronted NeighborKid he denied it...I just told him that either my son is a horrible friend and lying or he's lying. . My kids told NeighborKids they couldnt play w/them until I talked to their dad. This never happened bc he's not home often and just different schedules. . We eventually let them play together after NeighborKid kept trying to play and I asked him abotu swinging the bat again. He stopped denying it and I calmly told him I'd let it slide but we CANNOT do that again. . Flash forward a couple weeks later my oldest son comes running inside scared saying NeighborMom told her son "just beat 'my sons' ass". I walked outside and she immediately started cursing me out. I did lose my cool and yelled right back. She ended up telling me she wished her son would've hit my son w/the bat ...this is what set me off. Before it settled she threatened me saying "I'll light ya'll up, I'll light this whole block up" . We eventually made peace and my wife has texted NeighborMom several times, we even helped hide her childrens Christmas presents. We then found out from another childs mom that NeighborMom told her "We need to stick together (pointing at skin color) 'my wife' is always trying to start stuff". She also said she has a recording of my wife yelling at her...which was in respose to her saying she would in fact "light us up" Thankfully this lady let us know, she's also had trouble with NeighborKids. . Another parent has called the police on NeighborFamily bc their children have slapped and punched her children. When she initially tried to talk to NeighborMom she basically told her that her son had better not come to her culdesac or else (pucnhes her hand). So lady called cops and NeighborMom denied it all. I'm waiting to get officers number and the case number. He suggested that if anyone has trouble to call him directly. NeighborKids have openly told other kids they go into their front/back yards when no one is home to play. [link] [comments] |
