About to Launch My App But I’m Having Second Thoughts About My Logo Posted: 24 Jan 2022 07:30 AM PST I'm currently about to launch my app. It feels nice to say it out, considering how long it took me to get here. I recently came across a thread the other day that spoke about how important the face of your business is and the effect it has on appealing to your target consumers and now, I'm rethinking the logo. It's probably nothing but I've put in a lot of effort into this and I'd like it to go well the first time. How do you figure out what the best face/logo for your brand is? [link] [comments] |
Handling Resignation via Job Abandonment with Remote Workers Posted: 24 Jan 2022 06:12 AM PST Do you send anything to a remote employee who simply stopped responding to texts and e-mails? Work arrangement was fairly informal, 95% remote. She was paid almost embarrassingly well, over $100/hr, I think she's going through some stuff though. Tried being understanding with the frequent lack of response but it's been two months of nothing during our peak season. [link] [comments] |
How can I increase my sales with digital marketing ; Posted: 24 Jan 2022 03:32 AM PST Hello, I possess a small company ⠀called Lapt. I produce handmade leather bags and wallets. I also produce laptop stands, leather mouse pads and technological device accessories. I make my sales on my own site and etsy. According to the quality of my products, my sales are still very few, what should I do? Thanks in advance. https://www.etsy.com/shop/ExclusiveLapt https://laptdesign.com/ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jan 2022 10:17 AM PST After 4 months of starting of my small business, i never thought i'd ever break even or turn a profit. But today i was so proud of myself for finally breaking even and allowing to enter profit territory with products still left in stock. i'm still learning so many new things day by day and this gave me the motivation to keep on going despite things feeling hopeless and hard sometimes. Sorry if it seems like i'm bragging, i'm just excited about this and don't have anyone who'd understand the magnitude of this! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jan 2022 09:08 PM PST We can talk about skeptics and critics in the comments (I'm sure y'all have some good stories) but I really mean the way it feels when you're first starting out. I mean doubting the idea that starting your own business will work out. I grew up in a family of manual laborers. To me, work meant clocking on and physically working till the time I got off. When I thought about operating a business I thought about management. Setting schedules, doing payroll, that kind of thing. I thought owning a business was something only rich people's kids did. When I first joined this sub, I remember reading the stories on here and thinking, "yeah, that's cool for them, but that would never be possible for me." I didn't believe I could compete. These people had so many advantages: money, education, time, experience. But as the years have gone on, I've noticed more and more people I know starting their own small businesses and succeeding. For some reason, knowing someone personally makes it all seem so much less daunting, and so much more accessible. I don't know, does that make sense? Does anybody feel that way sometimes? How do I open a business account for a sole proprietorship? Posted: 24 Jan 2022 10:23 AM PST How do I open a business account for a sole proprietorship? Would I just open a regular bank account separate from my personal account? or can I use my ssi to get a business bank account? [link] [comments] |
Where to find inexpensive bulk stickers Posted: 24 Jan 2022 10:23 AM PST Im currently trying to find stickers that aren't too expensive in bulk - I had bought 50 for $60 that were 4inch diameters, so I was wondering if anyone knew any better alternatives! [link] [comments] |
How to apply for tax nexus’ in states Posted: 24 Jan 2022 10:13 AM PST What's a good website / way to apply for a nexus in a state? We need them in almost every state [link] [comments] |
To be humble? Or to be prosperous ? Posted: 23 Jan 2022 06:00 PM PST I own a dog grooming salon. 2021 was my first full year only working at my business. I've turned away over 200 clients and over 250 dogs. I raised prices 20% 08/21 and only lost 2 clients. I plan to do another increase 08/22 but can't decide how much to increase. I'm deciding between (roughly) 10% or (roughly) 20%. I care a lot about my clients and their dogs. I don't want to me perceived as greedy but I'm in incredibly high demand. What would you do? Posted: 24 Jan 2022 08:42 AM PST So my friend and I were doing some junk removal on the side during the weekends to make some extra money. We decided to go full time. In only a few weeks we have been pretty successful and have already made enough to buy all the equipment we will likely ever need. Our next steps are to become licensed and insured. I put up 100 yard signs around the city and we are getting all business from that a dome Craigslist's ads. Their is competition but they all look so unprofessional. About 75% of our customers have said they have contacted other companies too and they never respond. Our goal is to focus more on property managers and realtors. Dealing with residential customers is somewhat of a hassle and they don't have as much money. One major issue is pricing. I have landed 100% of the jobs that I go talk to the customer and give an in person quote and negotiate but on the phone or over text we are only getting about 25%. This business is not rocket science but I want to really grow this business and brand and add more services in the future. Something like a one stop shop for all the needs of a property manager. This is our website A1ABQ.com. It's still a work in progress and I will be adding testimonials and before and after pictures. Does anyone else have any tips for basically anything I just mentioned? Posted: 24 Jan 2022 08:35 AM PST My family owns a small business, and I am curious about how effective .99 pricing is versus .00. When quoting people prices, I think it gets confusing for the customer listing off multiple .99 prices for different items and services. I think whole dollar amounts look a lot cleaner and less gimmicky, but my family has used this pricing model for 60 years. As a consumer I also prefer whole dollar pricing. I read $5.99 the same as $6 in my head. I am curious what everyone else thinks? [link] [comments] |
Looking for some business tips Posted: 24 Jan 2022 12:15 PM PST I am 21 years old and I am currently working in a big company. I make $700 a month (thats the average in my country) and I decided I want to start my own business, not because of money but because I want to work for myself. I am not looking for "get rich quick" or passive income, I am looking for something I can work on for a whole day and I am willing to put in the work. The problem is I cant decide what I want to do. I get hundreds of ideas in my head but never stick to one. What is the least complicated business I can start online? I think ecommerce fits me the best but then I cant decide what to sell. I always think "who is even going to buy this" and then give up on a product. Any tip is welcome, related or not to this post. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jan 2022 12:00 PM PST I run a small handyman/remodeling side business and I have a client I've had for a while now client X (about 6 months) who are at my lowest rate I charge. As I've picked up clients through the time they've all been charged my current rate which is much higher than what client X is charged. How is a good way to phrase in person that the rate is going up? [link] [comments] |
future of computer repair shop - worldwide Posted: 24 Jan 2022 11:34 AM PST hello, I own three computershop in Belgium where basically we repair and sell computers and smartphones. We have a solid client portfolio and have a very good reputation. But I think I need to change something so we evoluate towards a new concept of computer repair shops. And that is my problem: I have no idea what I should change, of what concept future proof is, or if I should change anything or not .... I am always baffled by innovative american retail concepts but I am out of inspiration. Anyone have any ideas what I should do ? [link] [comments] |

Insurance for small cleaning business Posted: 24 Jan 2022 10:33 AM PST Hi! Determining allocations for asset sale for Form 8594 Posted: 24 Jan 2022 10:21 AM PST I sold a business last year as an asset sale. The main asset categories are Class V (code), and Class VII (goodwill). It is my understanding that the Class V assets will be taxed at ordinary income rates and the Class VII assets will be taxed at Capital Gains rates. And that it's in my benefit to allocation more to goodwill, and to the buyer's benefit to have less allocated to goodwill. Any guidance on determining how to value each of these in a fair way? My reading on it makes it sounds a bit complicated and arbitrary. [link] [comments] |

More sales with the same budget :) Posted: 24 Jan 2022 08:25 AM PST When most people dive into the world of paid ads to scale their store, they often either obsess on something so small that they miss the bigger picture… Or they generalize too much that missing the breaches in their store becomes inevitable… It's like looking at yourself in the mirror; too close you exaggerate minute imperfections... Or too far that the fixable and adjustable flaws go unnoticeable… Soon these compound over time and it feels like everything's going south on you.. Whereas if you adjust your vision just right and focus on the right thing, scaling your brand becomes a piece of cake Here are 3 things to focus on when making your ad budget count: 𝟏. 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞. It'll either be some form of engagement like following, liking, commenting or more likely Link Clicks to drive traffic for conversions. Either way, being precise about it is crucial for you to see your sales numbers rise up. 𝟐. 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐚 𝐧𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞. For instance, giving them a special coupon code or having a giveaway for small actions like sharing your posts. While this is not a long-term strategy it can generate publicity, sales and increase your audience pool when used occasionally! 𝟑. 𝐒𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞. This is the most important tactic to make sure your conversions don't decline over time. While split testing, also alternate the images, hooks, and incentives. The reason for doing this is so that you can optimize your existing CTA's to increase your click-through rate and therefore generate more revenue. Just remember... Business is about maintaining proper focus on the RIGHT set of things. Let me know if you've got any questions, I'll answer as many as I can :-) [link] [comments] |
What kind of lawyer do I need for customer threatening legal action? Posted: 24 Jan 2022 08:25 AM PST I sell a dental product. I have liability insurance. It's a rather quirky niche product. The customer has been angry since the beginning. First she says it didn't fit. I say no refunds but I can exchange. Then she says her "husband had an allergic reaction" to the product and keeps talking about how dangerous it could have been. I refund her fully. Then she contacts me like a week later and says "mold grew on the product after storage" and keeps going on about how dangerous this is. Then she asks for compensation beyond the refund. Obviously this person is really reaching. I've told the customer no but she seems to want to continue to run her game even after a full refund. I would feel more comfortable having a lawyer on retainer to review things like this with. But I don't know where to start. What kind of lawyer do I search for, is it personal injury even though I'm not the injured party? Is it some sort of business attorney? She hasn't actually threatened legal action yet, but I feel those threats are next now that I have declined her second request to pay her money. Thanks for your advice. [link] [comments] |
