Why my cold email is not very effective?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 12:57 AM PDT

    Hi Community,

On Linkedin, I have been sending COLD messages to relevant people and asking them to use my software. I have very little to almost no response :(. I have sent around 100 messages like that. I am sure I have been sending it to the relevant people.

I am working on AI-powered content creators for copywriters, editors, and digital marketers. I have been asking them to give it a try. I am offering them full access and the option to get a customised AI tool that they can use in their work for free. I am not selling anything. I just want input and feedback in return.

My aim is to get a few people to use my software and help me to refine and improve it. In return, I am happy to give them full access forever.

    This is the message:

    --------------

    Hi Michael

It was great connecting on LinkedIn. I wanted to reach out to see if you would be interested in using RyterAI, an AI-powered content creator and copywriter that can create unlimited variations in seconds, saving you valuable time. Try it at RyterAI.com.

I'm just looking for your input and feedback (nothing else). I am happy to give you free unlimited access forever. Also, I can create any AI-powered customized tool for you in copywriting that you might need in your work for free. I hope you will give it a try.

Please let me know if you are interested. If you are interested in collaboration, I am open to any suggestions.

    Thanks.

Do you see anything wrong with this message? Any suggestions to improve that message? I really appreciate your help. Thanks :)

How much are people raising here?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 01:04 PM PDT

I see a lot of posts of people raising capital but hardly any concrete numbers. Just wondering what's the range people are raising for their Preseed/Seed/Series A. Personally I think knowing how much is being raise and at what valuation can significantly change the course of a discussion.

Working on a project with ML, unsure to do a startup or release for free

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 08:01 PM PDT

So my friend and I have been working with this machine learning AI and we've done a great deal of natural language processing...which resulted in development of this "thing".

It's essentially an enhanced dictionary, it allows searching by word + multiple combinations of grammars. It's something I don't see anywhere online...but it's about time someone made it because ML AIs have become pretty good at contextual understanding of grammar.

Here's the thing, we been discussing about monetizing and packaging it into a product but our aim was to just help language learners. Releasing it as a free website would probably help the most people out there, but the cost of hosting the web app is not insignificant... (starts around $200/month and only goes UP from here). We are both very busy as technical developers with other jobs, and don't have the experience nor expertise for business, perhaps looking for help is the best approach?

Or perhaps not do a startup at all..? Maybe bootstrap as a non-profit?

How much is a common trademark filing through a lawyer?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 04:18 PM PDT

I'm wondering what a good range for filing a trademark through a lawyer would be. A firm I contacted quoted me $800 for the filing, and an additional $800 if I wanted a basic search for risks and marks that could be confusingly similar, plus the government fees of $350/class. This seems very high for a trademark, I would think the first $800 would cover a search and filing. Could anyone who has filed a trademark through a lawyer share their experience in terms of how much it cost?

What do you think about hiring an "army of interns" and what is the right pay?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 08:14 AM PDT

I am the solo cofounder of a sustainability/cleantech startup. I am managing it quite well but I really need to delegate some of the menial work I am doing such as filling out forms, emailing and managing communication with partners, accounting on QuickBooks, managing inventories, etc.

I currently have two interns in my team (both from the university I attended) who are doing a reasonable job for two 20-year-olds with no professional work experience (although there is some hand-holding here and there). I am thinking of expanding a bit and hiring about 3 more interns to manage all the other work I do so I can focus on what I enjoy doing - creating partnerships, designing our social media brand presence, raising funds, curating products, and executing the vision of the company.

I want to get a second opinion on this "team of interns" idea? I am planning to bring a COO on board after we launch to lead with me.

Also, I want to know what is a good intern salary in a big city? We are in London and I currently pay them £200 pounds a week for 10-15 hours of work per week. But I don't want to underpay them.

Which are the popular ways of making exits for your product which is still in an early stage?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 01:49 AM PDT

I run an OPC(One Person Company). I have a product which I built as a side project as my MVP. Spoke to a few potential customers which found it useful, and I think it would be a good idea to sell the product. I am not aiming for big tech companies to buy it, but I am looking forward to find the client over in online communities like here in reddit. I would like to know what would be some popular ways to do this? I am new to this space so any opinion is welcome!

We launched Remote.team, a communicator for collaborative work. How do you enter the US market?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 01:04 AM PDT

We're young guys, of course, and we're not likely to be able to compete head-on with the big competitors. But I'd like some advice on how to do it with limited advertising budgets? Can we only positioning on our distinctive features (a convenient platform for communication in the first place, where in the course of the discussion you can set each other tasks and enjoy their unobtrusive automatic management) to get a piece of the pie in the market? I would like to get feedback both on ways to enter the USA market and on the product as a whole. Thanks in advance.

Calculating funding/capital needs for your ask

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 07:36 AM PDT

This may be a fairly basic question here, but when you're trying to calculate how much you want to raise in a round of funding, let's say seed stage, where on your financial model do you pull that number from? Do you just look at your total expenses over your targeted runway period or is it standard to try to incorporate projected revenues that can be reinvested into the company to bring the total ask down?

Surprisingly I haven't found much info on this topic and my company is about to start fundraising!
