    Starting an animated film company

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 06:10 AM PDT

Say if you wanted to start an animated film company (small then build up if things go well).

Could you start a sole trader, so you are the business owner but you hire freelancers to do the work?

So say you called yourself 'Purple Gem Studios' 🤷‍♀️, but it was only you, and the freelancers were temporary until the project was completed.

Is this allowed or even possible?

Looking for an Indian equivalent to Alibaba

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 07:01 AM PDT

Hello all, first of all my apologies if this subject has been discussed before so feel free to direct me to any past post that cover this matter.

Given the current shipping prices and overall B2B purchasing prices in China, I am looking to switch my purchasing interest to the Indian market. Based on your exprience, can you suggest some reliable Indian B2B sites similar to Alibaba that also offer buyer's protection. So far I have registered on Tradeindia and Indiamart but I could do with some tips/recommedations before pursuing this further.

    Many thanks in advance!

Can you name a brand the same word as the product?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 04:31 AM PDT

For example... if you were selling water, could you call the brand name healthy water and have healthywater.co.uk?

    or maybe have water.co.uk ?

    or is that not allowed?

Need help creating an equation or finding a calculator, please.

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 10:27 PM PDT

What I want to do is custom design and print Mylar zip pouches/bags. These are ordered in bulk, depending on the company, the minimums change. You can buy them from 100 at a time into the thousands, right? I could also buy a printing machine and do them myself.

I need to do some math. In order to do the math properly and research manufacturing options more efficiently, I want to determine what my perfect per unit price range should be, after shipping and all other expenses, and what my margins need to be, etc.

This way as I'm researching I can find what I need faster. I can call up and ask them, "Do you have custom all over design printing at this price range per unit, and what's my minimum order to get that price per unit?"

Is that even possible to ask for?

Also, the company I have most searched on so far is Alibaba, if anyone who reads this knows of any other manufacturers who can do these types of things, custom printed bags, that information would be helpful too. So far, all the US companies are really expensive for what I want, compared to overseas.

How do I apply to Business Articles and Grants?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 09:39 PM PDT

So I am a young entrepreneur who recently launched my own community website for Introverts. It's been doing great and I want to show this achievement to a larger audience. I always see articles like "Top 30 young entrepreneurs who do....". How would someone contact or apply to these types of articles If they think they should be featured in any of these various articles. I was also wondering how someone apply for business grants. These are 2 different questions but if someone could help that would be great. Thx

Have a problem with business emails going to spam. Need advice.

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 03:52 AM PDT

Hello everyone, I am a CEO of a medium-sized company from overseas. We deal with airfare and constantly have to send emails to our customers with quotes, payment information, different types of confirmations, and so on. It's only natural that sometimes our emails get sent into spam folders. We usually are able to call back the customer and make them check the spam folder, but during some time-sensitive moments, it's sometimes impossible to reach the customer for one reason or the other. In this case, it may lead to a deal not being completed, and both sides lose time and money (I say we offer quite competitive prices for our customers). We tried to make the templates as robust as possible, and it works to some extent, but due to the personalized nature of these emails, some of them inevitably get flagged for spam. Recently my CTO came up with a solution in the form of this service: https://folderly.com/email-spam-fix

He says it will allow us to fix the wording in our emails before we sent them, and that will drastically increase the chance of them not going into spam. It is a tempting idea, and we can afford it in case we need it, especially if it will see us losing fewer customers and gaining more income in return.

However, I personally am a little reluctant to go for this solution as it is a not so cheap one. We have over 100 agents on the floor, and they each have a dedicated email address, so according to their website, we'll need to buy at least three packages worth of their service, and that will be $6000 per month. I'm not really saying it's too much for a business, but it's still quite an expense. Maybe if we could find an alternative, it would be better. I wanted to know if there are other options out there and if anyone had such problems (I'm sure many have) with emails. Thanks in advance, and have a good day!
