Need help with my hot chocolate business

    Posted: 08 Oct 2020 01:16 AM PDT

Hi! So I'm thinking of starting a hot chocolate business where I buy and pack all of the ingredients for the hot chocolate recipe in a box along with the recipe and mail it to customers. I just had some questions I wanted answered before I make a big mistake.

I'm going to be buying, preparing, and packaging all of the ingredients, but I'm not actually making them. Is it legal for me to sell them if I didn't make the actual ingredients? I don't want to cause any trouble.

Do I need a permit or licence to sell my hot chocolate online? That was how I planned on selling the kits.

Is it even legal for me to say I own this business? I'm only 13 and I hot want to sell these hot chocolate kits for Christmas since it's coming soon. They're going to be priced pretty cheaply- $10 for four servings of high quality hot chocolate.

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this or answer!

Whom to pitch for more business?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 09:15 PM PDT

Hey, I'm a Digital Marketer with some experience, I'm trying to become a freelancer and have been working on my portfolio, helping startups and small businesses for free.

Now, I wanna make some cash, and I was thinking if I should be pitching to small businesses ? I noticed that they usually have small budgets and many of them don't even care about marketing. Let alone running ads and SEO or having a social media presence.

If not small businesses, then who? I'm kinda lost here, any advice will be great help!

I'm also trying to get a job but doesn't seem like anyone wants to hire.

If you were going to survey or interview users of your mobile app to solicit honest feedback, determine what is liked, not liked, and where the app could go moving forward (and if pivoting is required), what are the top 1 or 2 questions you would ask?

How much of a profit margin is there in the transcription industry?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 11:39 AM PDT

I'm talking squarely about the companies that use humans to generate transcripts. I do know the rate for workers is generally under $1 per audio minute, often significantly under. A ballpark is fine.

Looking for books or whatever to learn more about things like inventory turnover, and other sales calculations

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 02:20 PM PDT

Hi! I love data, so I started researching on how to calculate a turnover index and I found the formula on Wikipedia, and it seems so interesting and I'd love to learn about more ways of gathering data about the business and such. Do you have any ideas about books that teach this kind of stuff, and topics I should research more? Thank you!

I make business, money and entrepreneurship related video essays, looking for feedback

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 01:29 PM PDT

Hey everybody I have a YouTube channel (link in the comments) were I make videos with a friend on the world of business, money and entrepreneurship. Some of my most recent videos are on money laundering and the business of casinos. They are each about 10 minutes long. I put a lot of work into these videos (5-6 hours, it's a lot cuz I am still in school), especially in the video editing because I don't always do the scripting. I am not seeing results and our videos don't get views by many people. I'll put a link to the channel in the comments, I'm lookong for feedback on how to improve the videos and grow the channel, if you can, leave it under any YT video as a comment so that it helps the YouTube algorithm.

Which city in America actually has the highest standard of living, from your experience (or experience from people you know)? I’ve heard that if you earn average wage (and don’t work in tech) you’ll be better off outside of California. To what extent is this true?

Should I sign up with Home Advisor?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 10:58 AM PDT

Hello, my husband and I started a gutter business in our area. He has 25+ years experience. He continually gets calls from Home Advisor and 411. Yes, it's been difficult doing this durning COVID-19 but we have a little network and I believe calls will start coming in more often. Our other friend with his own business (same type) said RUN far away from HA.

Does anyone have any advice? I think run, my husband is considering it.

Strange Amazon Scam: Items Bought on Another Card But Delivered to Me?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 09:36 AM PDT

    Strangely, Amazon packages began arriving.

However, not only did I NOT order them, but they were charged to someone ELSE'S credit card.

What is the idea behind this?

    Interestingly:

    • Five-star reviews were made for each item, using my name as a "verified user".
    • Orders were placed about every two weeks, starting at the first of the month.
    • Items costed about $10 to $70, and were strangely random (heat gloves, eyelashes, toy car, etc.)

Is this a strange but convoluted scam to generate positive reviews?

Best way to sell a petrol station and gold for a nearly retired jeweller - help my grandfather out.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 08:18 AM PDT

My grandfather has owned several jewellery shops in the past and has put his petrol station on rent. He is now looking to sell. How much should he sell it for if the rent is £52,000 a year?

Also if he still has stock left from the shop what would be the best way to get rid of it? And any general tips for the jewellery market?
