Robinhood says it’s experiencing a ‘system-wide outage’ as markets rebound in heavy volume Monday

    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/02/robinhood-says-its-experiencing-a-system-wide-outage-as-markets-rebound-in-heavy-volume-monday.html

Robinhood is down, again. For the billionth time since their inception. As of the time of this writing, their website loads a blank white page, and their app is showing badly delayed information. It's been like this since before 9:30AM.

I've seen Robinhood go down in the past, but never for this long and never at a time that was so important in the markets. At this point, I have a feeling there will be a user rout and many, many accounts will be closed, not to mention the inevitable mass of lawsuits coming their way after this. With every major broker now offering free trades, is there really even any reason to use this platform anymore? Is this the end for Robinhood?

The Motley Fools finds the next Amazon for the 67th time this year

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 05:04 AM PST

    https://thestonkmarket.com/2020/03/02/the-motley-fools-finds-the-next-amazon-for-the-67th-time-this-year/

Wall Street – Not a surprise to anyone on Wall Street, but the Motley Fool has discovered a stock that has potential to become the next Amazon ("AMZN") for the 67th time in just 2020! "This is a record-breaking year of finding the next Amazon," a spokesman for the Motley Fool said. "By this time last year, we found the next potential Amazon only 50 times. 67 times is record-breaking and something we are extremely proud of." The Motley Fool has already purchased billions of dollars of advertising space, along with James Altucher, on Yahoo Finance, Facebook and Twitter to tell everyone that 'this stock is the next Amazon'. I personally have clicked on the advertisement thousands of times and still don't know what stock they are talking about! "It's likely we will find the next Google, Netflix, Tesla and Facebook tomorrow so keep an eye out for one of our annoying ads," the Motley Fool spokesman mentioned. David Gardner was unable to comment as he was busy looking at potential ten thousand bagger stonks.

    • How should we respond to this unanticipated market plunge?
    • What would be a winning investment strategy?

Here's the approach that I'm taking as a response to the market turmoil. I'm sharing my pick of the stocks that I plan to buy now as well as what I think is a good investment strategy.

    RobinHood down again!

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:56 AM PST

I think I should of learned the first few times of RH being down to never hold anything over the weekend. This is ridiculous. How many times will we get fucked for not being able to trade when the website is down. There's nothing we can do but just take the L and move to another broker. SMH.

    Goodbye tendies 😭

Why is the market rising today?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 10:37 AM PST

Hello new to this so please bear with me, Im sure this aort of thing happens often.

Why is everything rising? Corona virus is spreading across and Has killed 2 people in the US. Some infected are even near MSFT headquarters yet companies like these and even ones that source their inventory from china are high up e.g NVDA. Just need an explanation for today because before the market opened i was completely expecting it to drop.

    Why is Big Pharma overvalued?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 06:25 PM PST

I noticed that even though many of the pharmaceutical stocks are rising because of the coronavirus, many of them are still deemed to be overvalued. APT, LAKE, and TTNP are all showing to be overvalued in terms of intrinsic value, but has risen tremendously last week and could possibly have some long term upside. This has been the sentiment for some time now.

    The Business Cycle

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:21 PM PST

We've gotten into this habit and I don't think it's good. Wall Street panics. Fed cuts rates. Wall Street panics again. Fed cuts rates again. This has been going on for a number of years now.

So does this cycle just continue until we can't lower interest rates anymore?

How does this make any sense?

    Stock Broker crash but good?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:19 PM PST

So going into today I was super scared and planned on pulling out on most of my investments due to all the craze about what was going to be happening. My Broker that I invest with didn't let me sell my stocks the whole trading day but ultimately I ended up with a 6.25% increase to my whole portfolio because of it. So while it was frustrating that I couldn't get on I'm lowkey happy I couldn't sell at the same time.

Even worse blow up will be the rebalancing by huge retirement/mutual funds. We expect the earning reports to be horrid, and will automatically trigger trades to rebalance funds holding. The bad reports will break the parameters used in the funds defining formulas, forcing a rebalance of holdings.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 01:56 PM PST

I think what may potentially trigger a even worse blow up would be the rebalancing by huge retirement/mutual funds when the bad earning reports come in. The reports will automatically trigger trades to rebalance funds holding. The bad reports, which are expected, to breaks the parameters used in the funds defining formulas, will force a huge rebalance of their holdings. I can't imagine how huge of a impact this avalanche and the snowball effect will have on the stock market. I imagine it would be a great buying opportunity, if I manage to survive and preserver through it.

    Coronavirus Stocks Vs General Market

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 10:25 AM PST

I see a lot of traders in panic about the dip today

Dow is up 800 on hopes of QE, low rates and cap gain tax cut and even a middle class tax cut which they are working on

So fear index is low today. Hence coronavirus stocks are in selloff today or showing lax rallies

But I like it this way because we all want this ducking virus to go away

However, this optimism will evaporate in seconds if more cases are reported and deaths occur, which I am not looking forward to because I have to use the subway and everyone in NYC is in high anxiety at the moment

So set up your mental exit points and don't buy at highs

Like CODX and MRNA are already bloated. The moment remdesivir works and Gilead announces it, all of these will tank. Lock in your gains.

    Best/Worst Outcome for Super Tuesday

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:38 PM PST

With Super Tuesday tomorrow, what do you all think would be the best outcome for the stock market on Wednesday? Bernie or Biden? And why?

Seems to me that Trump is rooting for Bernie as he believes he's an easier opponent.

Today’s Robinhood shutdown was a planned rout of retail traders

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 01:13 PM PST

They have very highly advanced tech and have been a pioneer in mobile trading.

Besides, today there was no reason for volatility as markets were rallying.

If it were happening in the middle of last week, I can reconcile with that as last week's volatility was insane as well as trading volume

Also, an all day system wide issue is incredibly suspect. This is a totally planned rout of folks from r/wsb and people who bet against the market in light of this coronavirus

Today's rout of traders stuck in options, esp puts, won't be refunded and there will be endless lawsuits (if they can even afford to file a lawsuit)

Why is nobody talking about heat biologics

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 06:01 PM PST

Heat biologics (htbx) today has increased 186%. Anybody else invest in it before it it sky rocketed? I go onto Robinhood top movers and it's not mentioned. I've made 700 dollar profit from investing 400 dollars into it bought around 1k shares before the spike.

I've never been so excited for a market opening my whole life.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 01:00 AM PST

In a few hours will be the deciding factor for a lot of how the market will play out for the next couple of weeks or even months with the scare of the virus at an all-time high and only climbing. Will the feds step in the pump the market up to make investors revive the market from where we were or will investors be scared, sell-off and everyone who has puts will cash in. See you guys on the other end

My thoughts on the Wall St shuffle.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 06:35 PM PST

Wall Street indeed knocked together the "surprise" recovery I mentioned for Monday. But it was not sufficient to allow complete relaxation.

At present, the market needs better 26,707 to allow 27,030. Yes, 300 points doesn't suck but if above 27,030, then I can calculate movement to 27,820 or so.

Only above 27,820 will my arithmetic suggest the current virus thing is a market scam.

Importantly, I am talking about Wall St and not after hours futures.
