It took stocks only six days to fall into correction, the fastest drop in history

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 06:10 PM PST

    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/02/27/this-is-the-fastest-stock-market-correction-in-history.html

The S&P 500′s swift drop marked the quickest 10% decline from an all-time high in the index's history, according to Deutsche Bank.

The speed of the decline over the past week even beats the Black Monday plunge in October 1987, where the peak was in August 1987, Torsten Slok, Deutsche Bank's chief economist said.

The Feds can't fix it this time

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 04:13 PM PST

Unlike the GFC, this is a health crisis not a financial crisis. They will cut rates and print yet again, probably on a unprecedented scale but it won't help.

They can print money, but not humans. Printing won't do much good as the economy grinds to a halt from frozen global supply chains and associated disruptions. Looking more likely that some form of lockdown/quarantine will become commonplace throughout more cities around the world. Following years of QE, individuals and corporations are too highly leveraged to wait this out for too long - we need to keep consuming and producing.

Corona virus and stocks- advice needed

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 03:50 AM PST

I just started investing few months ago and have about 2k in my portfolio. I lost a significant amount now in the last one week. My gain has dropped by 20%. Is it recommended to still hold onto the stocks or sell for damage control?

My big investments include (in the same order) Tesla Disney Apple Abbvie Sony Microsoft

    Any suggestions are welcome.

    Thank you

Is now a good time to invest for long-term gains

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 06:59 PM PST

Hi Everyone, I'm fairly new to the actual trading world but have been using different websites for real-time trading. I just never really had the gut to invest in. I am a young college grad who was majoring in Finance and Accounting( and I'm not even good at Investing Finance). I have worked my tail off(7 days a week) since 15. I saved up a good chunk of money to buy a Mustang which is my dream car but I decided not to when I have enough money for it. Now that I see the market's been doing pretty badly I put in 90%(30,000) of what I have saved into Robinhood and the funds will be available next week. I personally think the market is going to go down until next week.

I will be investing in ETFs and blue-chip stock and I plan to hold them for at least the next 5 years(I want to invest in property so I can finally stop paying rent and pay mortgages haha). I will provide all of my favorite stocks below, please let me know your thoughts

Stocks: APPL, MSFT, DSN, BRK.B, S(sprint), JPM (these are the "risky" investment of my portfolio 40% of total investment)

ETFs: VOO, SPY, VTI (these are my "safer" investment because I would not have to actively manage any of them) I also consider FNILX

The main reason why I pick these ETFs is that I just want bigger gains from the "top 10 holdings" of these ETF (if this makes any sense)

How bad can this coronavirus plunge get?

    TD Sequential Indicator

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 06:52 PM PST

S&P500 hit a yearly 9 candle on the TD Sequential. Doom coming?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 08:19 AM PST

Watched Tone vays' vid on YouTube and he mentioned something interesting. The S&P500 hit a yearly 9 candle on the TD sequential indicator. This hasn't happened in quite a while. Is kinda scary actually, this could be the start of a long bear market....going way way down.

Can I invest in stocks as a 17 year old?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 08:20 PM PST

I know the minimum age is generally 18, but I've heard of others investing before 18. I'll be 18 in June but I really want to capitalize on the stock market crash before the fear surrounding the new Corona virus disappears. I've wanted to invest for a few years now and figured I could hold off until 18, but from my perspective the upcoming opportunities are golden.

Can I legally invest as a 17 year old or are the mediums of doing so illegitimate? If I can, what's the best way to do so?

Why have gold prices not been rising more substantially?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 08:13 PM PST

I understand there's technical resistance and gold appears to be at the bottoms, confirming an uptrend — however, given the state of our indexes declines and the entire pending Coronavirus pandemic, why is gold not rising more substantially.

I trade options, I've been and still am in on $GLD and $SPXS, but gold prices are baffling me a bit.

Input, thoughts or ideas? Please and thanks

    Market Plunge: Advice?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 06:40 PM PST

Invested the majority of my savings yesterday. 210k. An FA is managing it. Decent division between ETFs, mutual funds, stocks, and ultra short term bond funds. I'm 32. Planning on using a good chunk to buy a house next year. Portfolio went down 2k today.

I'm wanting to move most of it into ultra short term bond funds now that the market has taken a hit. Maybe leave 50k in the mix.

I just dont know what to do at this point.

    Canadian brokerages

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 06:03 PM PST

First of all, I'm sorry if this is the wrong sub and for mobile formatting.

Im a novice investor in Canada. Im currently using Wealthsimple Trade until their 0.5% annual cut of my portfolio exceeds what i would pay annually on orders. Currently there is an outage on issuing orders with Wealthsimple that just happens to coincide with this stonk sale we seem to be having. Now i dont have a lot of cash right now so it doesnt make a big difference to me at this point, however, moving forward i would like a brokerage that can perform its sole function even when the market is being volatile. Im prepared to pay a commission for this security. I was looking at questrade, which was my second place option when i decided to go with Wealthsimple.

So i guess my main question is: is questrade functional right now? Do they also experience these outages? If so what other options exist? I tried to google this but i wasnt able to get the answers im looking for. Im probably just not searching for the right keywords.

Thank you all in advance for your time.

I dont know what to do!

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 01:59 PM PST

I am 18 y/o and startet investing into the stock market as of 3rd of January. I currently have invested 2200€ into it. I invested into tesla and different etfs becouse i wanted to not just have my money do nothing. My Portfolio went up to 2900€ as of the 22nd of feb. Everyhting looked great. Tesla was up 50% paypal was up 10% and all the etfs were about 5%. Now I am deep into the RED with everything except tesla(2100€ portfolio) cos of corona. I know everyone has to make their own decision. But i dont know what the smartest move is.

I currently have another 4k of which i can only spend 2500€ I still have a backup to that so i would be safe if i need anything irl. But thats basicly most of my money.

I think the best move would be to wait for another couple of day weeks and if the corona number rise to buy out different stocks which dont rely on china/traveling that much and if they stabalize buy sooner.

I realy dislike that I didnt pull out sooner. But should i keep them.

you can write whatever you honestly think no matter what you say I will make my own decision and you dont need to feel bad if your advice will make me lose money

    Thanks in advance!

    Does anyone care about valuations?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 07:57 AM PST

Hi everyone! I have been reading some threads and there is one thing I have seen consistently. People saying that this is just a short term thing and that the market will pick up where it left off.

Nobody mentions that the market is very overvalued, that profits were flat last year and the major indexes went up +25%...

I am.just saying this because a lot of people are worried about whether they should sell.or.not but when people.give advice, they dont mention this very important fact.

Add the impact of coronavirus to the equation and you have a very expensive market. Downside riak is very high.

I hope I am.not the only one seeing this.

    1. Look at the way my friend Wesley Virgin's report starts with this SHOCKING and controversial video.

You see, Wesley was in the military-and soon after leaving-he found hidden, "SELF MIND CONTROL" secrets that the CIA and others used to get anything they want.

THESE are the same methods lots of famous people (especially those who "come out of nothing") and the greatest business people used to become wealthy and famous.

You probably know that you only use 10% of your brain.

Mostly, that's because the majority of your brainpower is UNTAPPED.

Maybe this thought has even occurred INSIDE OF YOUR own brain... as it did in my good friend Wesley Virgin's brain about seven years ago, while driving a non-registered, beat-up bucket of a car with a suspended driver's license and with $3 on his bank card.

"I'm so frustrated with going through life paycheck to paycheck! Why can't I become successful?"

You've taken part in those questions, ain't it right?

Your own success story is waiting to start. All you have to do is in YOURSELF.
