What are the best Accounting related team names? Bad Assets is no longer cutting it

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 08:11 PM PST

Every training seems to need a team name and I'm looking for some truly original ones. We have all heard the classics: bad assets, mind the GAAP, etc... but what are some new ones?

Asking target schools to attend career fairs

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 05:04 PM PST

I go to a very non-target and thinking about transferring but will have to collect debt. Not sure if about 40k debt is worth the recruiting opportunities. How would I go by asking target schools to attend their events? Do they usually have a fee I can possibly pay? Should I just sneak in? Also, I know MTF is in the fall, there's career events in the spring as well right? Looking for big 4 or mid tier, none recruit at my school.

My cost accounting class is incredibly easy and I’m afraid the professor is skipping pertinent information so his students get good grades...

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 02:39 PM PST

So I've heard many of you say how horrible cost accounting is, but it's so easy to me that I'm worried my class might be insufficient. Can you guys give me some topics/problems that made cost hard for you? I'm hoping this doesn't happen, but the plan is to identify any shortcomings my class may have (based on your responses) and self-educate outside of class. Thanks everyone

When is it wrong to switch to another firm?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 07:11 PM PST

I have worked at a top 20 public accounting firm for almost a year and a person from a mid tier firm has reached out to me asking if I would be interested in working at their firm. I have always considered leaving to a bigger firm and planned on doing so near the end of my second year but not I'm not sure if I should wait.

I feel like I would be leaving my current firm with a lot of work and I will owe money for my CPA materials. My commute will be about an hour on the train as well.

I dont have a job offer, its just a question if I would want to consider switching. But I have kept going back and forth with this for a while. I think a bigger firm would give me better exit opportunities and maybe have more people to meet. Would it be a bad idea to give this a chance now right before busy season?

Are rejections and offers sent at the same time?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 03:51 PM PST

Did a second round interview last week and they said they'd likely get back within the week. Just wondering if a possibly late response means that you were rejected?
