Why the stock market won’t stay down when everyone is ‘nervous’ and ‘defensive’

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 11:06 AM PDT

October isn't living up to its reputation for volatility, but that doesn't mean investors aren't nervous.

In fact, that nervousness might help explain why stocks have remained relatively buoyant in the face of twists and turns around the U.S.-China trade battle and growing worries over a slowing economy and the threat of recession.

"People are extremely risk averse right now with a ton of money on the sidelines. So it's very difficult for the market to have a real extreme move to the downside and stay down with so much money on the sidelines," said James Carney, chief executive officer of ParPlus Partners...

    CRWD concerns?

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 07:37 PM PDT

Since Citigroup denoted CRWD as a stock that should be sold, it's price has since has shot downward significantly. Do you think that the next quarter earnings could possibly help boost it? Would you say it is worthwhile to invest while it's at its low?

Earnings Stock Picks 16th of October 2019

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 02:42 AM PDT

Hey traders another big earnings day today, I hope you did well yesterday! I sold wells fargo yesterday and made just over 15% on my trade so that was a good day! Hopefully today will be just as profitable.

We have quite a few to look at today. I am going to just look at one which will be my star trade. Even though I was looking at Black Rock yesterday and that trade wasn't as attractive as the Wells Fargo trade I still like to try and pick the winner before the reports come out.

Today's pick is Abbott Laboratories the over all trend is up and the expected earnings report is also a positive report. Add to the fact that the market was up yesterday and expected to be up today then this will be my pick of the day for a buy trade.

I am not feeling that great today so I probably won't be writing a blog just a short video.

Need help for my Bachelor Thesis

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 06:52 AM PDT

    Hello guys,

I am relatively new here and would like to ask for some help. I am doing a comparison between Crypto trading volume and stock trading volume. For this I would need to look up the trading volumes per hour of the top 16 stock exchanges. I have access to the Bloomberg terminal of my university but found my self complete lost in there. If someone could help with a good guide or with some tips on what exactly to search in order to get the information I need , I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.
