    Excel skillz

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:36 PM PDT

I just started a new job and it's becoming apparent that I am behind in my Excel abilities. Any recommendations for tutorials, classes, practice exercises to develop my skills? Classes I've done in the past have been either too basic or too specialized to be useful.

Am I an asshole for leaving my already understaffed team right before busy season?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:06 PM PDT

Title. I feel bad but I do not want to do something I hate under a bitchy manager for 5 months working an average 70 hours a week. Other two managers are great, and so are the staff. I feel bad giving them my hours if I leave, but personal health and career is what matters - right?

    Incoming Tax Associate for PwC

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 06:50 PM PDT

Hello everyone! I recently accepted a full time offer as a tax associate with PwC. I won't be starting until next year, but I'm already kinda of nervous. Can you guys give me advice how to best prepare for the role, what to expect, work environment, busy season... any information would be helpful. Thanks!

What are your hobbies? Does our proffession has any influences on them?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 09:05 PM PDT

I play instruments and I can't read music. I learned to see guitar and notes as even and uneven numbers.

Powerlifting, I make projections of my expected increase in main lifts and easily keep track of everything I eat (calories, protein, carbs, fat).

Started writing too. I realized all those years writing workpapers and redacting/reviewing financial statements broadened my verbal skills.

    What about you?

What is the offer rate for final round big 4?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 08:53 PM PDT

Just had a final round interview today. Recruiters or those who have worked at big 4 out there, what's my chance if I made it to the final round?

IT audit - KPMG or Crowe

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:08 PM PDT

I have offers from both KPMG and Crowe. Experienced associate hire in risk advisory. KPMG is a specialization in SAP GRC whereas Crowe is not specialized, rather wide open. Comparable salary and benefits. Region San Francisco. Both teams are small, 20 people in local and 50 in west region.

Which offer do I accept? Any suggestions?

Quitting without a job lined up?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 06:36 PM PDT

Would you recommend quitting without another job lined up? Worked 1 year in B4 audit and hated it so much - every day would be excruciatingly painful and meaningless. I have enough savings to last me at least 6 months, and I want to quit and dedicate my time to full-time job searching so I don't have to worry about planning for sick days or "doctor's appointments".

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 11:08 AM PDT

As the title says. I've been on a PIP since July; guess I've done well with my teams and clients since because HR and my senior manager pulled me into a meeting this morning to tell me I'm off the PIP. AMA
