JP Morgan expects Apple shares to rise over 20% on better than expected iPhone sales

    https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/30/jp-morgan-apple-shares-to-rise-on-better-than-expected-iphone-sales.html

"We are modestly raising our iPhone volume forecasts and expect investor sentiment on AAPL shares to improve materially," J.P. Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee said.

J.P. Morgan raised its price target on Apple to $265 a share from $243 a share.

"We are also increasing calendar 2020/2021 volume expectations led by stronger adoption of 5G enabled iPhones expected to be launched in September 2020," Chatterjee said.

S&P Global Market Intelligence - Uses?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 01:47 PM PDT

    Hey guys,

I work for a company that gives every employee a license to S&P global Market intelligence. (Not CapIQ). I don't use this tool in my daily work, but have thought that maybe I can use it to manage my personal portfolio? I work in strategy consulting, not sales and trading or really anything financial services related, so this kind of tool is pretty new to me.

I see there are some cool dashboards and charts I can make but I don't think I'm using it to its full potential.

Does anyone have any tips or guidance on how I can use this tool to help my own personal investing profile? Or any other cool uses?

    Thanks!

What market do people mean when they say “I beat ‘the market’”?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 01:47 PM PDT

Hello, I am new to investing and in doing research I have consistently heard the phrase "beat the market" and other terms by self-proclaimed experts and companies trying to get you to invest through them. When they say 'the market' which measure is this? The S&P500? The entire NYSE? I haven't been able to figure out what they're comparing their portfolio to specifically.

    Thank you!

IPO expected in 2021 for private stock. They are offering more shares. What do you think?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 01:38 PM PDT

As an accredited investor, I invested $10K in a company in 2015 at $3.33 per share. They are preparing for one final stock offering prior to planned IPO at the end of 2021. The current shares will cost $5. They do not have an IPO price yet, but said it will be greater than $5 per share. The numbers in the link look amazing. I cannot give the name of the company, as this is confidential. I am 59 and not getting any younger, but can easily risk $10K. What do you think?

Any specific reason why $THCX has been getting crushed since it started trading in July?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 09:39 AM PDT

I was a previous owner of $MJ but I liked $THCX because it has a more direct focus on the cannabis sector. It started trading on July 8th at $24.50 and since then it is down more than 30%. I understand that the cannabis industry is extremely boom or bust but so far $THCX has been 100% bust since day one. Does anyone know why this might be? A few large holdings dragging down the whole ETF? Slow industry growth? Just looking for what specifically is making $THCX a terrible investment so far. For reference $MJ is down a bit more than THCX in the same time frame. Thanks!

What’s your experience with the simple Rule of 40?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 12:20 PM PDT

Has anyone used this in the past and find it plausible indicator on the future of the stock?

I know that our research is usually deeper, but I'm wondering if relying solely on the Rule of 40 can lead to relative good results.

JP Morgan upgrades euro zone stocks to overweight

What are your favorite European stocks, both growth and value?

I'm liking ASOS ($ASC) at the moment. The stock took had a rough year, but seems to be bouncing of the historical resistance at 2000.

Their profit suffered but mostly because of investments in new warehouses. When they sort those out, I believe the stock will be back to former glory. They have solid financials, strong brand, and P/E is not off the charts.

Any new thoughts on this stock, I know we most likely won't see anything relevant until November, but I would just like to hear opinions. I have not bought. I am thinking about buying $1200 worth of shares. Interested in the thoughts on this unique stock that was once $1200 not too long ago.

Hey guys, so atd-b did a share split and I still have the same number of shares. The split was this morning and was supposed to be 2 for 1. Should I contact my broker right now? Or are the shares supposed to be added to my account later this week?

Large Trader ID - SEC Registration requirement?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 08:29 AM PDT

I like to scalp in large amounts but my profits are still small as I am still learning.

I did however, which the amount of scalping I do, get flagged by my brokerage stating I should register with the SEC as a "Large Trader" via SEC Form 13H.

Is this a requirement? and does this incur a penalty if I do not register? (I'd prefer not to register if I am able, since my brokerage firm says it shouldn't affect my account whether I do or not).

Open to any suggestions. Thank you.

    What’s Going In Argentina?

I am highly experienced in the do-it-yourself trading area, as well as ultra high net worth asset management. I dismantled this dude so bad that he deleted his entire comment history.

I really hope that when people ask questions, that people wont just answer with their assumptions or one-off experiences. In this case, we were being sold something. The "person" selling the crap sent me a weird private message that seemed like an "accident", in the middle of dismantling everything he was saying.
