Trump Promised to Bring Back $4 Trillion in Offshore Cash. He Missed by $3.3 Trillion Posted: 27 Mar 2019 05:55 PM PDT Trump said as much as $4 trillion would be invested in U.S. Corporations hesitant to bring all their offshore cash back Corporate America brought $664.9 billion of offshore profits back to the U.S. last year, falling short of the $4 trillion President Donald Trump said would return as a result of the 2017 tax overhaul. Apple (AAPL) – Technical Analysis Report Posted: 27 Mar 2019 02:20 PM PDT BR Technicals' Technical Analysis Report – Apple Inc. (AAPL)March 21, 2019 (Published March 26, 2019)Prepared By Brandon Ross, CMTClick to read the analysis with charts, and also download a PDF of the report: https://www.brtechnicals.com/apple-aapl-stock-report/ Long-Term Analysis
Medium-Term Analysis
Short-Term Analysis
ReportApple has gained more than 1,850% since 2009, but not without its rough patches. The stock has fallen more than 30% three times: -45% in 2012-2013; -31% between 2015-2016; and most recently -39% in 2018. Although the stock has lost a third of its value three times over the last 10 years, it has remained within a channel throughout the current bull market. Each of the drops began when the stock reached the upper channel resistance line, and ended on the channel support line. The stock has behaved like an example in a technical analysis book. In fact, the three times the stock peaked, there were also clear technical that the stock would sell-off. The first drop began when the stock was making new highs, but the indicators signaled a clear bearish divergence. The second drop began after a triple top reversal formed along the top of the channel. Third, the latest drop began along the channel resistance, and a small head and shoulders reversal pattern formed. The stock is still within its long-term channel, and this provides a few trading signals. First, if the stock ever falls below its long-term channel support, which is also the 200-weekly moving average, a sell signal is generated. If the stock were to break the support, it could signal an economic recession, and a cyclical bear market. AAPL is a very popular stock, and has a high positive correlation to the S&P 500 (250 day correlation of 0.81). So if the stock is falling out of the channel, then the rest of the market is probably falling into a downturn as well. Until the stock violates the channel, a buy signal is generated when the stock reaches the support. Supports should stop the stock from falling, and buying near a support has a great risk-to-reward ratio. A stop is placed just under the support line, in case the uptrend ends. We opened a position in our Technical Portfolios after the stock gapped away from the support line, indicating a successful test. Because the stock is a great example of technical analysis, there are simple moving average trades that can generate some good returns. A very common trade, the Golden Cross, generates a buy signal when the 50-day moving average crosses above the 200-day moving average. A sell signal is generated when the 50-day moving average crosses below the 200-day moving average. Finally, another great way to trade AAPL is to open a position when the price crosses above the 50-week moving average, and sell the position when it crosses below. Doing this, you would have bought around $16, then sold near $70 (these are split adjusted prices). A second purchase occurred around $65 with a sell around $105, and a third purchase at $102 with a sell near $180. The stock has been a key part of many investor's portfolios, but with good reason. The huge increase in the stock price since 2009 has drawn a lot of attention to the company and its stock. When investors are really fearful of the company, the economy, or both, then the stock will fall out of its channel. Until then, the stock should continue higher over the time. Peter Thiel on Moats, Valuation & How to Think Posted: 27 Mar 2019 03:28 PM PDT Source: http://musingzebra.com/peter-thiel-on-moats-valuation-how-to-think/ Peter Thiel is a co-founder of PayPal and Palantir Technologies, which specialized in big data analytics. While it is more apt to call him a tech entrepreneur than an investor, he knows something about moats and good thinking. [link] [comments]

$2000 to invest. short term investing. Posted: 27 Mar 2019 05:42 PM PDT as the title says i have $2000 to invest. i've always been interested in stocks and have played around with the simulators where i would have made $1400 off a $5000 investment in 4 months. mostly weed stocks. It was mostly just luck but my first time realizing i could actually do this with small amounts of money. i've always been intrigued with short term investments that yield small - medium returns. day trading i think would seem to be the best fit for me but i'm not exactly sure how to get into it and what to look for. there isn't much information out there on quick trades. I would also be interested in investments up to a year or 6 months that are less risky in order to diversify. any suggestions on certain stocks to invest in? advice on how to get started with day trading and what i should be looking for? this all very new to me but has been an interest of mine for a long time. any help is greatly appreciated. Posted: 27 Mar 2019 05:00 AM PDT Hi, guys. I hope it's okay to ask here. I don't really know where else to go. I was recently invited to for a career opportunity as a Broker trainee for Tullett Prebon ICAP because I was recommended by a friend and I'm genuinely interested in the position. However, I'm not completely well-versed in the industry as I mainly did sales in FMCG. I'm genuinely interested to pursue a career in this field, but would like to secure the position first before getting my hopes up. The requirement mentions to have a sound understanding of the global financial markets. I've taken the time to research as best as I could, but there aren't really that many or in-depth instructionals online on how to go about starting in the industry. I was wondering if anyone can point me to the direction of resources I can use to fulfill the career qualifications on basics. Or, if there is an actual interdealer broker on here, would you please enlighten me on what a 24 year old youngin' should know when starting out? I really hope anyone can help. Thank you so much. Who's your favorite cnbc commentator with the best opinions on stocks and the market? Posted: 27 Mar 2019 06:50 PM PDT My favorites are Guy Adami,Steve liesman,Pete Najarian, rick santelli. Love when shark tanks kevin O'Leary aka mr. Wonderful is on CNBC he is one of the guys that is self made and doesn't like to lose money. You can tell he invest money in the market. He always seems to know what hes talking about and not some cnbc journalist hack who's trying to push a stock that is garbage because he s being told by the cnbc tv producers what to say. Also Jim Cramer has the worst reputation for pushing garbage stocks because it benefits him shorting bad stocks. I dont think I have ever seen Cramer say anything good about about ipo on the first day of trading or promoted them in anyway except to not buy them. This guy has been on the take in the past and not to be trusted with advice except to do the opposite of what he says. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Mar 2019 09:18 AM PDT It can't be the yield curve because that already happened before yesterday and many stocks were up or mixed. It's not fed interest rates because that already happened last Thursday. It's not Mueller investigation, because that already happened too. Why is everything down across the board? Posted: 27 Mar 2019 06:23 AM PDT I went to lunch with the private wealth management advisor yesterday to get ideas for investing 2,000,000 safely for income for retirement, no kids, single, no debt. I don't want to work anymore (for money). Semi frugal lifestyle. I was a broker decades ago and lawyer (criminal) after. OMG, my eyes were crossing after about 20 minutes. I know you shouldn't invest in anything that you don't understand but this information is overwhelming...technical data, this SMA, that managed fund, blah, blah. I asked commission on everything but it seems murky. If , for instance, Clark capital managment is charging the upfront fee, then how much is the actual broker (bank guy) getting? How to find it? I'm reading prospectuses and getting brain freeze. And when I asked about index funds to accomplish the same thing (think 3 portfolio Vanguard), you would have thought I just ate the head off a chicken at lunch. Really. At this point, I'm inclined to stay in CD's and treasuries for safety and simplicity. What do I do? How do I find the real commission everyone in the deal is getting? How do I know that I'm not getting recommendations based on the commission or some other incentive not known to me? I've got an appointment with a fiduciary firm next week so any advice on what to ask them is much appreciated. [link] [comments]

My version of irk trades/ how i use intrinistic stock values Posted: 27 Mar 2019 07:16 AM PDT You wanted some trades with timestamp. Here is just a small selection of my trades condensed so min/max price. I used tousands of options in the last year. I am not able to trade on technicals like Michael Burry. But i can trade on fundamentals. Well this is my style. This is what i am best at. But his style is by far the closest trading style i have seen so far. Or do you think yeah this are tradesi could stick too also. High dividend stock but no cash to invest into the future SES SES 2018/04/04 BUY 11.08 Dividend cut in half but enough cash to invest into the future. This was my plan SES 2018/09/27 SELL 18.09 Sorry but i don't get this sell off. Is the production still up does a meteor hit their whole production capacity? But if everyone jumps on the trade because he heard somewhere about AI expecting the stock to steady rising over the next 10 years? No i think this is getting too optimistic But the upside could be anywhere from 250 to 400? I will short selling the stock if it will surge higher NVDA 15JUN18 285.0 2018/06/15 SELL 2.77 Damn the stock got more momentum as i expected and i am not strong enough to withstand this pressure. Well lets give up before we run into gamma risk But this a nice price to buy it again when i roll it own to 110 if it get contestet. Selling at 180$ and get it back at 110$ would be awesome even in this downturn NVDA 14DEC18 120.0 P 2018/12/14 SELL 1.96 Why is Netease IV so low?
