Posted: 03 Jan 2018 05:57 PM PST Hello there! I'm not sure if this subreddit is the appropriate location for this question, but I suppose I'll go ahead and ask it anyway. A year ago, I developed a piece of health software (predictive analytics for a certain type of cancer with AI) that received praise from doctors and researches, many of whom asked me why I haven't pitched it to a medtech company. A few months elapsed, I got a provisional patent, redesigned the interface and made a product web page. Currently, it's sitting. I'm not sure what to do? Should I start reaching out to executives at medtech companies (cold-calling, e-mail, LinkedIn)? Should I start advertising it, even though it's not software meant for the mainstream? Would it be advisable to try and sell it to a hospital first? I'm rather young and not too experienced with this space, any guidance would be much appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Jan 2018 06:33 PM PST Hey guys. I'm relatively new to software development and have an idea for an application I want to make. Basically what I am trying to accomplish is as follows:
My issue is that I am somewhat confused on whether I should accomplish this using a web application or desktop application. Some preferences: -I would like the application to run on both Windows and Mac -I would prefer offline usability but this is not essential -I would prefer to minimize server costs if possible Given the above, what would you guys recommend? I was considering either making a web application using HTML/css/Javascript or learning Java to make a cross-platform desktop application or potentially using a framework like electron. Thanks! Potential lease location has a rodent problem Posted: 03 Jan 2018 07:03 PM PST Hi there - not sure if this is the best forum. My fiancé and I are looking to lease a location in San Francisco for a medical practice we are looking to start. I have found out during the current tenant (who is leaving) tenure there has been a huge mouse problem with constant mouse sighting in the unit through the years. Has anyone ever dealt with this situation before? I want to understand what the landlords responsibility is in getting this resolved because it obviously has huge health and even business reputation risk. I want to know how far can I ask the landlord to go to fix this problem and still keep it within a reasonable request. [link] [comments] |
What are the successful Growth Hacks for your startup(s)? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 12:51 AM PST Hello all, I have been researching about which hacks go best for startups and which did not. So for that I thought I should ask entrepreneurs or startup founders about "what or which growth hack went successful for them?" Let`s say: For acquisition, you have tried a new social-media and channel and it worked for you. So I not only want to know about "what" the hack was but I also want to know "how" and "why" it worked for you. I would appreciate if you also mention at what stage your startup was before applying that hack. [link] [comments] |
CVS Supplier - 1 free item per store? Posted: 03 Jan 2018 11:01 AM PST Hi everyone! We are finally preparing to launch a product in CVS later this year, and CVS has requested that we essentially give them one free item per store. This would be a considerable financial hit on us and I was wondering if others have been presented these terms as well. For those familiar with retail suppliers, is this standard practice or can this be negotiated? CVS can obviously dictate their own terms, but I am curious if anyone was able to get out of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments] |
